Moonlit Meetings

It was early in the morning and the moon was high within the sky at the small park near Little Whinging. Upon a swing sat a young man, his dark black hair cascading down his small slim shoulders. His bright green eyes stared up at the glowing moon with a sad distant look in his eyes. The young green eyed man was so lost in his thoughts that he never even noticed as a tall blonde slipped from the brush behind him approaching him slowly and carefully.

Slowly the blonde man cleared his throat causing the younger man to whirl around standing up from the swing seat quickly, a long wooden wand gripped elegantly in his right hand. Slowly the blonde adonis like man took a step back in surprise his smooth hands raised in a non-threatening manner.

Growling the younger male held his wand a little tighter, his eyes narrowing at the blonde nonhuman, "Who are you? I know you're not human. Now tell me who you are and why you are here!"

The blonde sighed softly his hands still raised and in a soft deep baritone he replied his voice calm and gentle, "Sorry to have disturbed you I was simply passing through. My name is Carlisle...Carlisle Cullen. I'm not sure how you know I am not human but I guess judging by the wand within your hand you are also not as mundane as most of your race"

The green eyed man raised a single brow and slowly lowered his wand but did not put it away keeping it within his hand for safety. "Hello Mr. Cullen and it is quiet alright though you still have not answered my last question, you are correct in your assumption that I am not as mundane as most as you put it. My name is Harry...Harry Potter"

Carlisle smiled revealing bright white teeth and he extended his hand slowly, "Nice to meet you Mr. Potter. I am a vampire and I assume you are a wizard?"

Carefully Harry took the blonde's hand with a small polite smile his voice calmer and more stable than before, "You would be correct in your assumption. So tell me why are you in the area? I can tell by your eye color you are not like the rest of your race either."

With a charming smile the blonde nodded and responded calmly, "You are correct I prefer animal blood to that of a humans. Call it a different choice of food."

Nodding and feeling much more at ease Harry returned to the seat of the swing sitting down with a small sigh returning to look back up at the sky, "So why are you here"

Smiling Carlisle took the other swing slowly watching the mysterious green eyed young man a flicker in his deep topaz eyes. Slowly the vampire answered, "I'm looking for someone to share my eternity with truthfully. I seek my mate, my beloved, my one and only" His voice soft and hesitant.

Nodding Harry turned to meet the vampire's eyes, "have you found any clues?"

Nodding Carlisle replied, "Yes, I have even seen him"

Tilting his head to the side Harry slowly swayed back and forth on the swing, "Oh? Why have you not told him?"

Hurt entered the vampires topaz eyes and with great sorrow he replied slowly, "Because my mate is not yet of age."

Frowning Harry stopped swaying "what is of age?"

Smiling the doctor responded with in a more clear voice, "18, my mate has yet another six months to go"

Frowning once more Harry looked up at the vampire, "My eighteenth birthday is in six months"

With a smile Carlisle stood hovering over the smaller young man with a smile upon his pale chiseled face leaning down he whispered in the young wizards ear, "I know" and with that the vampire caught the younger mans cheek with a soft chaste kiss before slipping from view, his vampire speed sweeping him back into his hiding spot leaving a confused green eyed wizard behind.
