Always a Black
Characters: Sirius Black/Lucius Malfoy, Narcissa Black
Rating: PG
Warnings: Slash, Suggestion of previous encounters.
Words: 634
Prompt: Marauder era, slash genre, 2 characters, Lucius Malfoy and Sirius Black
Notes: Written for Hogsmeade Weekend, August 2010. This was part of the 'Activity Fic Testing'. We could choose what form of fic testing we wanted to write. I chose 'Focused Testing' which meant a minimum 500 word story due at the close of Hogsmeade Weekend. The next step was in choosing the Era, Genre and number of characters. I choose Marauder Era, Slash genre and 2 characters. With this information the pairing was then decided through a random generator. I ended up with Lucius Malfoy and Sirius Black.
It all started when Narcissa hinted to him about it. Of course, Lucius had ignored her hints at first, but then relented. Her idea had appealed to him immediately, but he didn't let on that it had any merit. However, if it worked, he would be in even greater standing with the Black household.
Somewhere though, he wasn't sure when, his plan began to go awry. The first thing Lucius noticed was the laugh. The way Sirius laughed felt like velvet draped across his skin. A vocal caress that left Lucius craving more.
Next was the graceful way the Gryffindor ate. Merlin help him, but Sirius had table manners! He knew which utensils to use, and didn't shovel down his food like an animal, unlike the rest of his arrogant housemates. Sirius's name was a touchy subject at the moment, and Lucius would not risk revealing his plan until it was successful. But he made a mental note to compliment Madam Black on Regulus's manners the next time he visited their home.
Finally, there was Sirius's looks. Regulus was pretty, but Sirius, Sirius was beautiful. His eyes were an icy blue, almost as blue as Lucius's own. His teeth were perfect, his skin almost porcelain, and his hair as black as night. His physical perfection was like a flame, and Lucius was the moth.
Lucius smiled to himself. He didn't tell Narcissa anything about his time spent with Sirius. She just took it as part of the plan. Any Slytherins that dare question him, he let assume it was a prank he was pulling on the beloved Golden Boys of the Headmaster.
"If Sirius attended dinner willingly, my parents would be very pleased," Narcissa had said, her voice low and seductive in his ear as she toyed with his lapel. One meal was easy. Getting Black to spend the night would be harder, but not impossible.
Standing in the same alcove where he'd met Narcissa, Lucius brought his attention back to the boy standing in front of him. He reached out to run his hand through the thick, silken hair, watching as it caught the stray light and slipped through his fingers like water. Such a beautiful contrast to his own. No wonder people stared when they were together.
"Dinner is at 8:00," Lucius said, dropping his hand to trace his fingertips along Sirius's arm.
The corner of Sirius's mouth twitched, then he threw back his head and laughed. "Not a chance in hell! You really are a total idiot, aren't you Malfoy? Did you honestly think I didn't know what you were up to when you came on to me?" A huge grin played across Sirius's face, mocking Lucius.
Lucius's hand froze and his face tightened. Slowly he lowered his hand to his side.
Sirius leaned forward, his eyes going cold. His voice dark, he said, "You forgot I was raised in that family. I know how the game is played. You never stood a chance." He straightened up and smirked. "I had a lot of fun, telling the guys all the intimate details. They couldn't get enough of the stories." Sirius laughed again. "You have no idea how much of a joke you are right now in the castle." Sneering, he added, "Now keep your bloody, poncy self away from me and my friends." With one last contemptuous look he turned and swaggered away.
Lucius seethed, his stomach clenching. He shoved his hand in his robes as he watched Sirius's retreating back and fought against the urge to whip out his wand and teach Black just how little he knew about the Malfoy family. But, spells were too simple, too easy to fight back against, and he'd earned more than that. Black would learn not to toy with a Malfoy.
