The Touch
Hermione looked in shock from Harry, to the bloodied and moaning form of Draco Malfoy laying at Harry’s feet, and back again several times before her mind formulated words.
“Har-wha?” she said articulately.
“I read something interesting two weeks ago, Hermione.” Harry said, buffing his nails against his uniform shirt as he swung his legs back and fourth, occasionally kicking Draco.
“Oh?” She asked, sitting down, a look of interest slowly taking over her face.
“Yes. I read the Pureblood Code of Ethics. A little tidbit about this book, you see, every Pureblood Family is given the Opportunity to either support The Ethics wholeheartedly, or not. Each Family is listed in the Book. My Family is listed, as is Malfoy’s and Zabini’s, Susan’s, The Blacks and even Neville’s.”
“Why not Ron’s or Professor Dumbledore?” Hermione asked.
“Their families refused to uphold the Code, so they are branded Bloodtraitors. Now, in this book, I read all about the proper way deal with Malfoy here.” Harry said, reaching down to gently tug at Draco’s Blonde locks.
“All this time, with him insulting me, and speaking ill of my dearly departed parents, he was giving me a multitude of opportunities to demand retribution. I read, that if I challenged him to a duel of my choice, and he accepted, I could take what ever I wanted from him, and the world would be forced to recognise my acquisition as rightfully mine.”
“Well Harry, you obviously won, so what did you ask for?”
“Him.” Harry said, smirking.
