Severus sniffed and bit his lip, “James please don’t do this! Not now not when I need you the most please!!!!!” James sighed and pulled Severus into a hug.

Severus stood unmoving, and then slapped James hard across the face “you know that’s not your child yet you dare try to use that against me” Severus shook his head in disgust before dropping his eyes. “You once said you loved me…………”

Severus shook James off and straightened, “It’s obvious James” Severus gave a shaky laugh “you say you love me but look at us now. Everything’s falling apart and you’re not doing anything to stop it”.
James sighed and moved toward Severus but he stepped away

James sighed and moved toward Severus but he stepped away “Severus please just let me explain!” he caught Severus and pulled him close “listen no one but us four know who Harry’s true father is” he buried his face in Severus’ neck “I’m an auror and you’re a spy we are in so much danger even if we’re not together and I can’t lose you”.

Severus looked up with shimmering eyes on the verge of spilling over “James this war has taken so much from all of us, I haven’t see you smile in weeks” he gave a bitter laugh “I can’t remember the last time I was happy”

Severus looked up as tears began to fall, “just one more time I want to feel happy………just one more time. Even if its just one night, please let me taste happiness one more time……..one last time” he leaned forward and kissed James softly.

James smiled and pulled Severus down with him, softly wiping away tears “I promise you no matter what happens I will always love you with my entire being” he smiled and kissed Severus hard.
