College Experience
I dont own anything to do with harry potter, i make no money, this is just fanfiction!!
Hermione was walking across the college square. Her heavey backpact was bouncing painfully against her spine. She had just gotten out of her potions class. Her mind was on the classes, which had started a little over three months ago. She loved everything in her classes there was so much challenge, this is what she needed. She didn't have to go back to Hogwarts, that was something that she was thankful for. She didn't want to have to go back there, the war was something that she no longer wanted to think about. So with awsome recomandations, she, Harry, Ron and almost everyone else went off the wizarding college to persue thier hopes and become trained for thier dream jobs. She was here mainly for creating charms and potions. But she made sure to take as many classes as she could. But no where near as many as she had in her third year. She was now heading back to her dorm room, she was a little put out when she was first shown to her room. She was sick of having to share rooms with people, and was hoping that when in college she would be able to get her own apartment, but that was not allowed until her third year. She was here for two longs years before she could be alone. However, her roommate, though a wizarding cheerleader, was not that bad. She was very smart and caring. Hermione hated her friends though, they were shallow and giggly and only cared about getting a rich and famous husbands.
"Hermione!" Someone called to her. She turned and found Harry and Ron running towards her, she sighed and stopped waiting for them to catch up to her. When they did they stood doubled over trying to catch thier breath.
"I thought you guys were suppose to be in shape" Hermione pointed out.
"We.....have.....been.....running" Harry panted out
"For.....ever" Ron finished
"You really need to do more training, if you would just let me....." She started
"Hermione! we are not going to let you make up study shit for us AND training sessions" Harry said.
"Whatever. You'll feel different one day" She said
"Ok, anyway what are you doing tonight?"
"Why" She learned never to say 'nothing' to them.
"Well, Ginnys home from school for holiday, Ron, Tiff, Gin and I were all going to go out to dinner and a muggle movie, you wanna come along?"
"I can't, I need to study and pack the last of my stuff for tomorrow, I'm going to see my parents" She answered.
"'Your parents'? why are you going there the whole holiday why not just christmas?" Ron asked.
"Because I miss my parents Ronald, you guy's go and have fun, I'll be at your house, Ron, on Christmas to give my presents so I will see Ginny then, I miss her too. But I need to get my packing done sinces my parents moved it takes forever to get there, so I'm gonna need to leave pretty early" Hermione explained, smiling sadly.
"Okay, well if you are going to be busy, then we can't make you come out" Harry said, pouting for good measure.
"Sorry, Harry" Hermione answered. They smiled and then walked away.
Hermione watched them go feeling a little bad. She loved going out with them but she just hated watching Ron and his disgusting girlfriend kiss and make stupid baby noises at eachother. She loved Ron, there was no use in trying to ignore it, she had loved him since her fourth year and it had only gotten stronger throughout the time. She thought that they would be together after the war but apparently for Ron the kissing had happened in the heat of the moment. Nothing more. She knew that he loved her, but not in the same way she loved him. About two weeks after coming to the university he ment Tiffany Lex, she was a cheerleader, and perfect. Long beautiful blonde hair, pale face, dark blue eyes, perfectly full lips, skinny body just like what you see in movies, big boobs that Hermione was sure were fake, and a flat ass that she shook when she walked. Ron thought that she was the greatest thing that ever exsisted, they weren't he and Lavender had been (making out all the time) which ment that they were able to keep each other happy. They went dancing and out to eat each weeks, she dressed nice for him and treated him like he was a god. Tiffany was stupid, she only got passed in her classes because she was a cheerleader. She wore tiny skirts and high heels. She spent more of her time worrying about clothes and shoes then schoolwork. Tiffany also hated Hermione, seemed to think she was a threat, she made fun of Hermione constantly for studying and wanting to work for a living. Apparently she had gone to an American Wizarding school and was told that the only way to go through life was to get married (to a rich guy) and then have millions of kids. She thought any woman that wanted to have a job was abnormal.
Hermione opened the door to her room. She threw her bag on her bed and then fell next to it. Breathing a sigh of relief she rolled to her side she looked at her roommate, Tessa. She was sitting at her desk, writing up what must be an important paper for one of her classes. Hermione watched them for a minute, then closed her eyes. Letting her classes sink in, they were very important and she has to remember them. But her mind felt like it was going to explode.
"So do you have anything planned for holiday?" Tessa asked.
"Not really, going to my parents house christmas eve, The burrow on christmas, then back here" Hermione answered.
"Why did you tell Ron and Harry that you were leaving tomorrow?" She asked grinning evilly.
"Why were you listening?" Hermione glared at her from her own bed.
"Just listening as I passed, why'd you lie?" She threw back her black hair, and sitting on her bed.
"You know I hate Tiffany, why the hell would I want to go out to eat with her?"
"How do you know I wont run back and tell her that?" Tessa asked smiling. Hermione knew that she was just curious.
"Because, I'm trusting you and also I really don't give a shit if she knows that I hate her" She answered her.
"Well, anyway, Tiffany is going home for the holiday, but I'm going to with my cousin and some of his friends to a cabin for holiday, you can come if you want" She offered.
"Tess, I really love your offer but...." Hermione started.
"I know 'you're going to you're parents house' but you could come with us, apperate to you're parents house, come back and then apperate to the burrow on christmas, then come back" She explained.
"I don't know...."
"Look, you are going to be sitting here reading and doing homework that isnt do until the second week after we come back! Ron and Tiff are going to come back with romantic winter stories, Harry is coming back with "you should have been there..." stories, even Neville friggin Longbottom will have better stories then you. And all you can say is that you are done with your homework and your parents are doing fine"
"Well...." Hermione began
"Oh come on HERMIONE!!" Tessa screamed "You do nothing fun.....EVER....come on"
"Fine, fine I'll go" Hermione said, Tessa was jumping up and down giggling, "I have to tell my cousin that you are going to come along"
Hermione packed some rather cute winter clothes (she didn't know if someone cute might be there) Harry and Ron were pissed that she lied to them. But were happy that she was going to be hanging out with some friends, even if it wasn't them. She saw Ron and Tiffany off (and laughed heartily when she was blessed with being able to watch Tiffany fall face first in a snowy mud puddle) Then she said goodbye to Harry and told him to give Ginny a big hug for her. She promised everyone that she was going to see them soon. An hour or so later, she and Tessa left the school. To her horror she had to fly to Hogsmead where they were going to apperate to an known (by her) location. Apparently, her cousin wanted everything to be secret, their location, who was going, and what they were doing. Hermione made sure they were'nt going to some strange, animal sacraficing thing. After an hour of waiting they left by sidelong apperation.
They landed in front of a huge and beautiful cabin. There were two floors, both with wrap around decks on both floors, there were french doors on both floors leading in to the house, and there were large windows everywhere. It appeared that they were on top of some mountain, there were no lifts so she imagined there was either another area to ski or you were suppose apperate back to the top. Hermione saw a little lake where she could go skating, and was very glad that she remembered her skates and took lessons a couple of years ago. When she was about to ask Tessa if anyone else was here, the door opened and to her horror, Pansy Parkinson came running laughing and wrapped Tessa in a huge hug. Talking a mile a minute. Hermione was horrified, this was not what she signed up for.
"This is your cousin?" She asked trying not to sound hateful, Pansy was looking at her like she were a bug.
"No, this is not my cousin" she answered.
"Oh, ok" Hermione answered with a little sigh of relief.
"This is my cousin" She said pointing at the door, where another person was coming out. This person was tall and pale, he had a slightly pointed face, his pale blonde hair was a little long and his grey blue eyes were cool and cunning. He smirked at her, then gave her a mocking bow.
"Oh, no, not Malfoy" Hermione said.
