A loud thunder crash sent a rapid shudder through the passangers on a small boat that was gently swaying on the sea. The majority of the people were shackled to one another with a chain that glowed with a black magic. Many were dirty and in black clothing.
Unlike many of them there was a single female among them. Her wrist turned upward showing her branded arm of a skull and snake mark. Her head hung low as the boat gently moved towards a single island. The island was set a far distance from anything else giving the place a very isolated feeling. The woman's head slowly raised showing a pale face turn an almost sickly pale at the prospect of returning to this place of hell.
As the boat docked, four guards led the shackled prisoners onto a short path. At the gate, several more guards joined them and they were roughly shunted into a huge stone building and along a long dank hallway.

Far down the hallway, Lucius raised his head from the dirty straw cot he'd called a bed for too long now. Had he heard something? He pushed his emaciated body upward, taking up much of his precious energy reserves. His eyes, once so sharp and cold, were a dull grey-blue in the halflight of the tiny cell. He shuffled closer to the oaken door of his own personal Hell and looked through the bars into the long corridors, certain now that he'd heard voices. As the group got closer, he squinted, trying to make out who it was being led into this pit with the rest of them. He swallowed when he heard the guards talking.
More of the Dark Lord's loyal followers.

His comrades.

He closed his eyes and prayed Draco wasn't among them. The sounds of the shackles dragging on the floor resenating through the stone walls. One by one the prisoners were shoved into cells and locked. Soon the woman was brought to Lucius's cell. One of the guards sneared at the former Ministry member now turned lowly criminal.

"Malfoy today's your lucky day you get yourself a roommate." the guard hissed as he opens the door shoving the woman in.

"Dont play too rough." The guard shut the door locking it behind them.

Lucius caught the woman automatically, his trademark sneer a mere shadow of it's former self as he watched the guard close the door. For a moment he didn't move, his arm around the woman's waist.

After listening to make sure the cretinous man was gone, he looked down into the eyes of one of the Dark Lord's most ardent supporters.

"Merlin..." His voice was scratchy, unused to speaking since his isolation in this place. He took a step back, keeping steadying hands on the woman's shoulders and took in the changes since he'd last seen her.

Bellatrix LeStrange.

Slowly Bellatrix raised her head showing her slightly sunken in face. Her dark eyes set more back than before. Her cheeks were slightly hollower than before. Her lips were thin and pale like pink petal roses. Her body seemed to have lost up to 50 pounds from being on the run for so long. Her eyes slowly look into the eyes of her brother in law silently thanking the Dark Lord for it not to be Barty Jr as her roommate.

"Lucius..." her voice almost a whisper as she hadnt spoken in months.

Helpping Lucius's son abate capture kept her sister and her on the move constantly. Lucius ran a hand over his face, then led her to the straw matting. He helped her sit and ran comforting fingers over her hair. He kneeled beside her and tried to get her eyes to focus on him again. If she had been captured then...

"Draco...?" Bellatrix took a deep breath as she pushed herself into a more comfortable sitting position.

"He's safe... Cissa... protected him." Her breathing was slightly labored from her ordeal.

Being back in this hell hole would give anyone a reason to have anxiety. Lucius heaved a sigh of relief and sunk into a sitting position beside Bellatrix, leaning his head against the wall. He looked over at his new roommate and old friend. She looked so worn. This war had been hell on all of them, but for her...

He reached out and took her hand, remembering what she'd been like when he'd met her. So young, but still older than his then bride-to-be. He remembered her eyes- sharp as daggers on his own- and her childish warning against hurting her sister. Not so childish when there was a sparking wand at one's throat. Lucius chuckled, but it was a dry, hollow sound. He squeezed the hand of the woman who'd come to be like a sister to him and cleared his throat before speaking again.

"What...happened?"

Bellatrix had very little energy to do much moving but she found she had enough strength to remain consious. Her hand meerly rested on her brother-in-law's hand. Her thoughts on the blonde had always been mixed. She feared what that famous Malfoy blood would do to her Cissa but over time she could see her sister was a Black through and through. His arogance had made her slightly angry but gave him the benifit of the doubt because Cissa wanted this marriage to work.

"We... had moved to... a small closed store... to rest. When we tried... to find another place... a few Auror's... ambushed us. Cissa dragged Draco... into a storm drain... so they... arrested me." Bellatrix finished as it was a strain on both her body and her heart to relive the memory.

She felt very much betrayed by her sister but she could understand her need to protect her son over her sister. It still hurt. Lucius bent his head forward, glad his family was safe, but unsure how Bellatrix felt about it.

Despite never wanting anyone to go through the Hell Azkaban had turned out to be, he was still glad of the company of someone who understood, whether or not she was sympathetic. He ran a hand over his matted hair and sighed, wondering how he must look now.

The powerful Malfoy patriarch reduced to nothing more than a dirty beast in a cage. He suddenly realized how tired Bellatrix must be after running from the Ministry for so long. He glanced at her and, sure enough, beneath her eyes were bruise-dark marks and her cheeks were hollow. He shook his head, squeezing her hand before releasing it.

"Rest, Bellatrix. You look like you need sleep." Bellatrix's head slightly tilted to the side resting on Lucius's shoulder.

Not needing to be told twice, she slowly fell into a deep sleep. Though peaceful sleep began to elude her as the unconsious thought of her surroundings wouldnt let her relax.
Suddenly an odd thought struck her sleeping mind.

'What was Harry Potter doing while one of his classmates was running for his life?'
