I don't own anything (which is the same thing as saying if I don't own it, that means I'm not making any money from it either) Harry Potter but I do own Emma Lynn Maguire. Doesn't follow HBP & DH
Battlefield
Summary: Set in their seventh year, Emma Lynn is fighting alongside Harry Potter and co. Draco Malfoy hasn't taken the dark mark yet and is set to play spy for Voldemort. Can Emma Lynn help him discover which side he truly wants to be on or will it all end in a battle against each other?
A/N- Not asking for reviews, just if you somehwat like the story then share it with others to read. Thanks. Oh and bear with me while I introduce the setting in the first few chapters okay?
Disclaimer: No I do not own anything Harry Potter. That honor belongs to JKR. The only characters I do own so far is Emma Lynn Maguire. (Again if I don't own anything Harry Potter that also means that I'm not making any money from writing this either). Although I do love money :)
=========================================================================================
Emma Lynn Maguire was a fellow Gryffindor and close friends with the ‘Golden Trio’. She also fought against Lord Voldemort along with several other Gryffindor’s two years ago at the Ministry of Magic. Now as they approached their last year at Hogwarts the ‘Trio’ had jokingly started to refer to themselves as the ‘Oval’. Due to the many people who had joined their side. There was Harry, of course, and his secret crush Ginny. Ron and Hermione and then there was Emma. I bit of a fifth wheel but everybody always made sure to include her in everything. Emma got along famously with Harry and Ron, immediately feeling like the big sister to them. Ginny was like the little sister she had always wanted and Hermione was like a twin. Both being muggleborn seemed to strengthen that connection. However, while Hermione had the wild chestnut brown hair and Ginny the flaming red, Emma Lynn was stuck with dirty dishwater blond. Seems like it would have been great except blond jokes were not just privy to the muggle world. Emma had to work twice as hard just to prove herself and even then, she could not even beat Hermione in grades. Nevertheless, what Hermione lacked in personality she made up for in mothering and book smarts. Emma lacked her book smarts status but made up for it with her optimistic and somewhat cheeky attitude.
Start of term was tomorrow, the first years sorted, and the feast was commenced. It felt so good to be back at Hogwarts. Everything just seemed more natural, more complete. Harry sat next to Ginny and Neville on one side and Hermione, Ron and Emma sat on the other. The students talked about the summer keeping up the false banality of it when in all reality it was hard. People were afraid. Voldemort was quickly gaining strength and the papers announced more and more deaths each day. Emma knew it was tough on Harry, being the boy who lived, and having to face the task of destroying Voldemort. That’s where his friends came in. They would always be there for him, to back him up.
After a while the feast was over and students had started to head to their common rooms. The group of Gryffindor’s were one of the last groups to leave the Great Hall and they were walking out the doors when Hermione snapped her fingers. “Shoot I forgot my book at the table”.
Emma touched her arm and said “I’ll grab it and meet you up in the common room. I want to talk to Gina from Hufflepuff real quick.”
She turned at the nods of the others and walked to the Hufflepuff table, exchanged a few words with Gina and when they got up to leave followed them out the doors. Then she chuckled to herself because she just did what Hermione did, almost forgetting the book. She turned on her feet her hair and robed whirling around her as she jogged back to their table to grab Hermoine’s book. She walked out the Great Hall and before she could turn to head to the Gryffindor common rooms a voice called out to her “Hey Mudblood the Trio got you playing slave for them now?”
She knew that voice. She’d heard it first six years ago on the Hogwarts Express. She didn’t know anyone on the train so when she tried to find an empty compartment but couldn’t she picked the first one that had the fewest occupants. He was a straggly boy with platinum blond hair and piercing grey eyes. He looked as if he was royalty sitting there with his shoulders straight, his clothing impeccable but he also looked lonely. So she quietly asked if she might be able to sit with him. He gave a faint nod and went back to looking out the window. After a few moments of quiet though and Emma was going crazy. She couldn’t stand awkward moments so she usually ended up blurting out something random. So she ended up blurting out her name and asking him.
“So I’m Emma Lynn Maguire. What‘s your name?”
He slowly turned his head and pierced her with his grey eyes. “Draco Malfoy
