Disclaimer:
I only play in the Harry Potter world, don't own it and I make no profit from it.
His World
A/N: I've been working on my story Intensity and I hit a bit of writers block. After having a bit of a depressing day and then watching Criminal Minds I couldn't get this little plot bunny out of my head. After writing it though the block seemed to be gone and I am having no problem with writing more of Harry/Fenrir.
Even so, I thought I would share this.
Enjoy!
His World
Sunlight filtered through the open window, bringing with it a breeze that rustled the covers on the sleigh style bed along with the white blonde locks of the male that lay sleeping in it.
“Draco, love, it’s time to wake up,” whispered a sweet voice into the blondes ear.
“Don’t wanna.” The blonde male mumbled back while snuggling further under the golden sheets and burgundy cover.
“Come now love. Don’t be that way. You don’t want to be late – do you?” The voice said as an arm slipped around the naked chest of the blonde.
Draco sighed, laying his hand on his chest and smiling softly. “Alright Harry, you’ve got me awake. What are you going to do with me now?”
He pulled the covers back from his face and looked up into the emerald eyes of the love of his life. Even after the 8 years that they had been married Draco was still amazed that the handsome man lying beside him was his and his alone.
The smile that formed upon Harry’s face at the playful remark from his love was enough to take Draco’s breath away. The blonde man leaned up to kiss the tempting lips, but before he had closed the gap Harry was up and out of bed.
“You need to go take a shower now love and get ready for your visit.”
Draco groaned from the bed, flopping back and trying to cover his eyes from the light. Another breeze flowed through the window, causing the curtains to dance and Harry’s scent to fill the blonde’s nose.
“Come on baby you need to get ready,” Harry tried again while standing by the door that led to their master bathroom.
“I think I’d rather stay in bed all day; besides no one wants to see the likes of me anyway,” Draco said while removing his hand so that his steel blue eyes could lock onto emeralds.
“Draco you know that isn’t true.” The brunette said softly, a sad looking crossing his face and it appeared as though his eyes began to glisten.
The blonde immediately sat up, a guilty expression crossing his features. “Of course Harry, I’m sorry.”
The smile that Draco had come to crave was once more in place, and sighing he stood from the bed and crossed to the room to his Harry.
Before the blonde could fully reach Harry, he was stopped by two arms that kept him at a distance. “Don’t worry about it, love, just head in and take your shower. I’ll make you breakfast.”
“You’re too good to me Harry.”
“It’s because you’re my world Draco. You always have been and you always will be.”
Draco’s eyes slowly closed, a small smile slipping onto his lips as he absorbed the love filled words. He felt cool lips gently touch his forehead in a kiss before Harry removed his hands and headed downstairs to begin breakfast.
Sluggishly, his eyes opened to stare at the place that Harry had just moments before occupied. His hand slipped up to touch the spot on his forehead, as he walked into the bathroom.
His eyes raked across the bathroom with an expression of utter devotion. The bathroom was a Slytherin nightmare. Accents in red and gold showed everywhere: gold faucet with a matching golden soap dish, soft red carpets on a golden marbled floor, red towels that hung on gold holders, even a red toilet seat cover. Draco never would have allowed Harry to decorate their home as such.
But he had.
Sighing, Draco slipped out of his clothes, leaving them in the red hamper by the wall, and slipped into the shower. He squealed initially as the frozen water hit his body like a truck, but then groaned as it quickly warmed and caressed him like a lover.
His thoughts drifted back to Harry as he lathered up his hair with jasmine smelling shampoo, Harry’s favorite of course.
“It’s because you’re my world Draco. You always have been and you always will be.” Drifted through his head, Harry always knew what to say to make him feel better. He could still remember the first time Harry had said that to him.

“I don’t think you should do it Harry. In fact I demand you not to. I won’t allow it.” Draco said while crossing his arms and staring at his pacing husband.
“You don’t understand Draco. I have to do it. It’s my responsibility…”
“Fuck responsibility Harry! Fuck all of them. You don’t owe them anything and you sure as hell are not responsible for their mess,” Draco yelled as he sat down in a chair that was not there moments before, though he didn’t dwell on it much, it was the room of requirement after all.
Harry stopped his pacing and looked at his blonde husband. Sometimes Draco could be so stubborn, but that was part of his character and Harry couldn’t help loving it just as much as he loved the rest of Draco.
“Please, love, you have to understand.”
“No I don’t. We can run away from this. Hide from it all. We don’t have to be a part of it. You don’t have to be a part of it.”
“We could never truly hide from it Draco. Do you think Voldemort would simply stop trying to kill me if we run? He would hunt me down and in turn would hunt you as well. You are not safe here and I won’t let this go on until you are.”
“You don’t need to protect them Harry. They shouldn’t expect you to do so anyway.”
A sad smile crossed Harry’s face. Slowly his pacing stopped and he stepped in front of Draco, kneeling down and placing his hands on his husband’s knees.
“It’s not them I am protecting, love. It’s you,” he said simply.
Draco placed his hands on his husband’s strong shoulders and stared at him in disbelief before saying, “What are you talking about Harry; you don’t need to protect me.”
Harry leaned up and sealed his mouth over Draco’s, pouring everything he felt into the kiss. Slipping his hands around his husband’s waist and hauling him from the chair and into his lap.
The blonde ran his fingers up the strong shoulders and neck to tangle in Harry’s hair as the kiss depended. Molten hot fire licked as their bodies as the intensity of the kiss continued.
A tear slipped from Draco’s eye at the passion behind the kiss. Draco felt himself falling even more in love with his husband than he thought possible as it felt as though their very souls danced together as their tongues did.
Ever so slowly, Harry pulled away from Draco, their panted breathes mingling. Draco’s glistening eyes slowly opened to stare at a grinning Harry.
The brunette gently pulled Draco’s hands from his hair and helped the blonde back into the chair. He placed a chaste kiss on Draco’s forehead before pulling back.
“I have to do it for you…” he began even as Draco started shaking his head in the negative.
“Why?” Draco managed to squeak out, not even caring how broken he sounded.
“It’s because you’re my world Draco. You always have been and you always will be,” was the last thing Harry said before leaving Draco in the room of requirement, before leaving, what Draco feared would be, for good.

Draco could feel the beginnings of the hysteria he had felt in that moment creeping up on him. Thankfully a knock sounded outside the bathroom and brought him out of his thoughts.
“Draco you okay?” He heard from outside the bathroom, and smiling he answered back, “Yes, Harry. I’m almost done. I’ll be out in a bit.”
He glanced at the door, the smile still on his lips as he reminded himself that it hadn’t been the last time he had seen Harry and that he shouldn’t get too upset over it.
Turning the shower off, he slipped out while grabbing the beach sized red towel and slipping it around himself. He quickly tried his body before slipping into a red robe and fixing his hair and brushing his teeth.
He left the room to try and find something suitable to wear for his visit. Looking through his closet he found a pair of black slacks with a matching long sleeved black shirt.
It was very basic; however, he didn’t have much to dress up for these days.
After Harry had defeated Voldemort no one really seemed to want to believe that Draco had been innocent. His mother and father had been tortured and killed by their own lord’s hands, his Godfather befalling the same fate.
It seemed as though all of the friends he had made while attending Hogwarts had all been accused as Death Eaters, or had plead innocence and yet still hated Draco for his secret relationship, revealed, with the Golden Boy. He couldn’t even get a job because of what the community believed him to be.
Draco wrapped his arms around himself trying to stifle the cold that was trying to seep into his bones. He was all alone. There was no one he could turn to, no one that truly understood what he had been through, was going through.
“Draco?”
He turned around quickly and a happy sigh escaped him. Of course – how could he forget?
He had Harry with him and when it came right down to it that was all he needed.
“I’m OK,” he said which caused that breath taking smile to slip across his beloved husband’s face again, “is breakfast ready?”
“Well, kind of, maybe, not really.”
Draco raised his eyebrows at his husband as Harry gave a sheepish shrug. “I kind of burned it. I’m sorry.”
The blonde laughed and then laughed harder at the pout that crossed Harry’s face. He quickly followed Harry out of the room and down the stairs into the kitchen where he could see that Harry had already cleaned up the mess.
“Don’t worry about it Harry. You know I love you and I’m not really hungry anyway.”
“Oh, but Draco you should eat something before you visit your friend.”
“Don’t worry so much I’ll grab a peanut butter and chocolate chip granola bar and eat it on the way.”
“You sure?”
“Positive.”
Draco slipped past Harry to look in the pantry and grab said granola bar, showing it to Harry just to make sure his husband saw before he sat at the counter, glancing at the calendar that was hung on the wall.
Today was June 2nd, 2009.
Opening the wrapper he quickly took a large bite that seemed to make half of the bar disappear at once.
“I thought you wanted to eat it on the way.” Harry muttered from beside him.
“Changed my mind, besides I don’t really want to leave you just yet.”
“You’re too sweet, my love.”
The blonde turned his head to glance at his Harry a dreamy expression crossing his face as he took another bite of the bar.
“You know you should wear more color Draco. You’re so pale and when you wear black it makes you look I don’t know, washed out.”
“And what would you have me wearing instead, my dear Harry?”
Harry slipped his hand under his chin and pondered in thought, biting his lip before looking back at Draco and suggesting, “Nothing?”
Draco laughed and shook his head. Of course Harry would think he would look better in the nude.
“No?” Harry added, “Well how about red or even green if you must. Although you were always the fashion queen you should know better than me.”
The blonde forced himself to swallow the last bite of the granola bar.
“It’s not exactly an appropriate place to wear lots of color Harry.”
“Come on Draco! You’re visiting a friend. I’m sure your friend would love to see some color on you too.”
“I-I don’t think so Harry.”
Draco felt the cool lips once again placed against his forehead in a chaste kiss. He turned and smiled up at his husband, slowly standing up himself and heading for the front room.
“You should wear a colorful cloak today I think.” Harry piped up from across the room.
Chuckling, the blonde looked through the cloaks by the door and picked a simple black one instead.
“Honestly Draco, you’re no fun sometimes.”
A sad smile appeared on his lips as he looked over at his husband standing by the stairs.
“What will you do while I’m gone?”
“Well I still need to take my shower and get dressed. And then maybe cook something that doesn’t burn so I can have breakfast too.”
Draco nodded grabbed the red and gold wrapped box and opened the door, before stepping out he turned back to Harry who hadn’t moved from the stairs.
“I love you Harry.”
“I love you too Draco. Don’t worry I’ll be waiting here at home for you.”
Draco nodded and stepped out, turned to shut the door, locked it, took a deep breath and apparated away.

Draco appeared outside the gates to Hogwarts with a crack, looking up with trouble filled eyes at the place that had once been his home away from home, but now seemed to hold only nightmares.
He kept his head down, staring at the grass as he walked through the grounds of Hogwarts. It always surprised him that no matter how much time passed it seemed as though Hogwarts never aged.
There was no one on the grounds this early in the morning and Draco was glad for it. Most days he wasn’t happy to see people, but especially today he did not need the extra company.
Finally reaching his destination Draco looked with heartrending eyes upon the marble monument. He sunk down to his knees as the tears finally broke free and slipped down his cheeks unhindered.
Draco bowed his head, trying to fight off the hysteria that always seemed to overwhelm him when he was in this spot.
“I-I.” He tried but couldn’t seem to actually be able to find his voice.
Taking deep ragged breathes; Draco clutched the box to himself. Using it as something to try and ground him to reality. He wiped his eyes and nose with the sleeve of his robe, ignoring the fact that when he was younger he wouldn’t have been caught dead doing such a simple act.
“I,” he started again, stronger this time, “brought these for you. I know they ar…w-were your f-favorite.” Taking the lid off of the box, Draco carefully slipped his hands inside to pull out the large bouquet of tiger lilies.
He laid the arrangement of flowers at the foot of the monument. The sunlight making the little dewdrops that still stuck to the petals look like crystals. Orange, pink and white tiger lilies mixed together creating a splendid picture and fragrance.
“Y-you always loved these more than the other kinds. I always t-t-thought that it was because they reminded y-you of your mum.”
Draco finally looked up, miserably at the monument, barely able to see through the blurriness that the tears created in his eyes. Blinking rapidly he was finally able to see clearly enough to read the writing etched into the marble.

As long as the ones we love are in our hearts,
They never truly leave us
He couldn’t fight back the sobs this time and allowed them to spring free from him as he doubled over. The pain filled cries racking his entire body as he sobbed for his one true love, the man that had given everything for him in the end, the man whom he would give anything to have back.
Time had no meaning to Draco in that moment; he simply lay there long past the sobs subsiding and the chilling morning wind that made his limbs tremble and his teeth chatter.
Slowly picking himself back up Draco looked once more upon the monument that the wizarding world had created to honor the sacrifice that his husband had made. People would come from all over the world to lay flowers all around the monument of his Harry.
They were all thankful of the gift that Harry had given all of them. That he gave himself to keep the wizarding world safe, that he went to his death so willingly, so bravely so that they might have the chance at a better life.
But Draco knew better. After all he knew Harry better than anyone else in the world, then or now.
“He did it for me,” he whispered before leaning forward to place his lips against the cool marble, wishing that he could once more feel the heated kiss from his love, wishing with all his heart and soul that he could go back to the last time he had seen his beloved husband that day in the room of requirement and let him know just how much he had meant to him, still means to him.
“It’s because you’re my world too Harry. You always have been and you always will be.”
*THE END*
*THANK YOU FOR THE REVIEWS!*
I don't want to add another chapter to this just to thank my reviewers for it so I am simply editing the bottom of this one-shot. Thanks for reading and thank you for taking the time to review. It means a lot when someone is willing to take a bit of their time to let me know they enjoyed what I wrote.
yaoiObsessed: Thank you very much for your kind words and I am thrilled that you enjoyed my writing. I am glad that the story had the desired effect. I do agree it is very sad for Draco though.
AnythingBut: I'm very glad you liked the story!!
thrnbrooke: Thank you for your review! To answer your question, no Harry never was really there. After the war Draco found himself completely alone and he simply couldn't handle that. Harry never truly touches Draco, he keeps him at a distance and the most contact is the feeling of the kiss to his forehead which is always cool because it isn't really happening and is just a memory. The breakfast Harry was supposed to make, in Draco's mind Harry burned it and cleaned up the mess otherwise how could he explain it to his mind that there was no food when Harry said there was.
The original title of the story was Delusion, but after writing it I felt that a change in title was needed and I felt that the new one really encompassed the general feel of the story.
Harry was Draco's entire world and with or without him there, he would continue to be so.
Pretty Brown Eyes: Aww I can't really say I'm sorry it made you so sad because that was the emotion behind the story. But I do hope you found something very happy after reading it! Thank you for taking the time to review and let me know you enjoyed it!
Even so, I thought I would share this.
Enjoy!

yaoiObsessed: Thank you very much for your kind words and I am thrilled that you enjoyed my writing.
