Chapter 1: Severus Snape

A black limousine pulled to a stop on the hillside cemetery in Sète, France. Harry Potter took in a long breath through his nose to calm himself before he addressed the others in the car.

"Ah... " Harry started but hesitated, "could you give me about 30 minutes alone? I need to build up my nerve for what I'm about to do".

"Harry, you sure you don't want me to come with you"? Draco asked with a pained expression showing on his face.

"Yea, uh, well you see, I would like a moment alone with him if you all don't mind? I don't know if I could do it if everyone was there to watch, you know"? Harry tried to explain, his voice shaky as he spoke.

"It's all right Harry, don't worry. Lucius and I will sit here with Andy, Draco and Teddy, and give you all the time you need. Believe me, we all understand how difficult this will be". Narcissa said in a soft voice, as she looked on at her new son-in-law.

"Well, that's all I guess, just give me 30 minutes at the most, and you all know where to find me". Harry replied, his voice sounding strangled, as he nervously stepped out of the door that the chauffeur held open, and onto the narrow road.

Harry hesitantly walked toward the point that overlooked the Mediterranean Sea. His legs were feeling like lead the closer he came to the tomb in the distance. He stopped momentarily to take in the view as the sun had just begun to set. It was truly beautiful here, and he knew the one that was entombed here would love the setting. With another deep inhale of breath; Harry trudged on to his destination.

When Harry walked closer, he noticed that the contractors had cleared the point exactly as he had asked. It was grown up when he found the location, and the remains of an old house had stood beneath the thickets and trees. He had paid a fortune for the property, 50,000 galleons to be exact, but it was well worth every Knut he had spent. After the land was cleared, and the old houses foundation was razed, he had the area fenced off with a large cast iron fence, and had a gate open onto the small cemetery’s road that circled through it. Harry looked all around, and he knew that this would be where he and his husband would be put to rest. His entire family would be placed here as a matter of fact; well he couldn't guess about young Teddy as of yet.

Harry walked up to the large black-granite tomb and looked over its workmanship. It was the first time he had been this close to it since he had Severus Snape's body moved from it's meager grave that the British ministry had placed it in after the war. He looked up at the large bronze statue on top of the tomb, and inspected the image of his former potions professor. It was a striking figure, the mans robes billowing away from his body, and a wand held in his right hand that was pointed downwards. The statues face looked out towards the sea, and it was a fitting memorial for one of the bravest men that Harry Potter had ever known.

Harry walked on around to the front of the tomb where he sat down on a long granite bench. On the front of the tomb was a large bronze plaque with the inscription concerning Snape’s death. Harry wiped his glasses off on his sleeve, and readied himself to read the inscription, after placing his glasses back onto his nose. He couldn't stand to wear his contacts today, and he had never had his eyes magically fixed permanently, but maybe he really should, he thought. Finally, Harry read the inscription that was cast in bronze for eternity.

Harry drew in a shaky breath as he felt a tear run down his right cheek. He slowly placed his hand in his jacket pocket and withdrew a small box. With a wave of his wand, and a muttered incantation, the box opened to reveal a small black stone that had been split in half. Harry retrieved the two halves, and held them in his palm for what seemed like hours, but in reality it was only a couple of minutes. With another sigh, and another shaky breath, the raven-haired wizard rolled the stones halves over in his palm three times, closed his eyes, and bowed his head. Harry set like that for a couple of minutes until he felt something like a cold hand come to rest upon his shoulder.

"You surely do not think that that statue looks anything like me, do you Mr. Potter"? Drawled the voice of one Severus Snape, or one dead Severus Snape. "Why, pray tell, did you bring me back when I had just settled down for a nice nap"?

Harry kept his head bowed, and his eyes shut tight. "Just as snarky as ever are we, even in the afterlife Professor"? Harry enquired, and finally opened the eye that was closest to the cold hand on his shoulder. Harry squinted at the view, and sure enough, a man was standing beside him in a black robe. He was not like a ghost who was transparent, but was opaque. He had color to him, but he was neither solid, nor a vapor like the ghosts were. Harry knew that he would look exactly like his parents, Sirius, and Remus did on the night of the battle at Hogwarts.

"Ah, still an impertinent child, but alas, I think you called me back for a reason, did you not"? Snape said as he sat down beside Harry and looked up at his statue.

"Yes, Severus, I did actually. I need guidance, and I know that you will never hold nothing back, nor hide anything from me. You will not lie to me if I ask, and well, I just wonder if I'm doing the right thing"? Harry asked as he looked on at Snape’s form.

"Yes you are, or doing the right thing that is. I can honestly say that both of your parents are proud of you, and so is Lupin along that mutt sidekick of his. You have no worries, my child, for standing up for what is right in this world". Severus said with a sigh. "I do so like the inscription by the way, I think you got it mostly right".

Harry couldn't help but snort at this, and then he laughed. "You never cease to amaze me with your wit Severus. It's just that I am worried about things, you know? Look what's happened to Andromada now, and it's all over Draco and I getting married".

"No Harry, it is not. It was due to a bunch of bigots that would like to see popeism brought into the wizarding world. I knew the Weasley's were like this a long time ago, and that is one of the reasons that a majority of our people never liked to associate with them. Of course, there is what happened with Abraxas Malfoy too, but I take it you know about that"?

"Yea, I've heard about that all too well". Harry remarked as he looked ahead at the tomb before him.

"You see Harry, the wizarding world does not hold with all the blatant bigotry that is dealt out in the muggles bible. The funny thing is, that though the muggles preach it, none of them live by what it says. If they did, a woman would not have any rights at all, not so much as being able to speak her mind. The closest thing to that are the Muslims in the Middle East, and what type of society is that? That makes them all Hypocrites in my eyes, and in most of the people in the wizarding communities. People cannot help whom they love, as they are born that way. They most definitely are not "turned" that way, or the way a majority of the muggleborn’s would like everyone to think, and unfortunately the way the Weasley's think too.

"I take it your ex-friend is happily lounging around in his cell within Azkaban for what he did to Andromada"? Severus enquired.

Harry closed his eyes at the question, and thought back to his so-called wedding day. It was on Valentines Day, and Harry and Draco were to be married on the steps of Gringotts, by Kingsley Shacklebolt, as was promised. Harry often wondered if the minister himself didn’t set them up, but he couldn't prove it. He remembered the huge crowd in Diagon Alley that day, with the Malfoy's and Andromada Tonks sitting in the seats at the front, which were provided for the family by the bank. He could remember the hecklers in the far back, and he noticed that almost all of them were muggleborn’s that he knew from Hogwarts. Harry shook his head at the start of the memory, and looked around to Snape.

"Yes Severus, he most certainly is. I almost lost the love of my life over him and his family. His sister is a psychopath, and what one would term a stalker. They all think that anything that goes against the teaching of the bible is wrong, such as being gay. I am glad I am shod of them, and never want to see any of them again. As far as poor Andromada, well Ron cursed her, or I guess you already know this"? Harry asked.

"No son, I do not. Your mother, father, Lupin, and the mutt was watching over you that day. I could not come, as I had other important matters to attend to. If you would, please tell me what happened, as nobody but your mother has told me anything about it. The rest seem to think they shouldn't mention it. Also, Ginerva Weasley is what they term a sociopath". Snape explained.

"Sev-Severus, is it really you"? Draco asked in almost a whisper.

Both Harry and Snape looked around and saw that they now had company. Lucius Malfoy stood straight, but was staring at Snape with his mouth partly hanging open. Both Narcissa and Andromada were wiping tears from their eyes, and little Teddy was asleep in Narcissa's arms. Snape noticed that Andromada was using a cane, and was leaning heavily upon it, while her other arm was being supported by Draco.

"Yes, it is I Dragon. Harry here saw fit to summon me back for a while today so I could visit. You can give me a hug for old times sake, but I must warn you, they say it's a very cold feeling". Snape explained.

Lucius quickly conjured some chairs for them to sit in, and they all gathered around Harry and Snape. Draco sat in Harry's lap, and quickly, did give his godfather a hug, whether he was cold from it or not.

"Now Draco, please tell me about the wedding that was ruined by the Weasley's"? Snape kindly asked of his godson.

Sorry for no updates in a while. Most know that I’ve not been well, and after I did start feeling better, I started on some much needed remodeling of my home. It has taken up a great deal of my time, and I haven’t been able to write like I want. The story called “The Rebellion” will have a new chapter as soon as I finish updating and editing the chapters that are now written. I have already started on this, so it will most likely be in June before I can add the next chapter.
