"It DOES Smell Like Cucumbers..."
(A.N.- This is my very first fan-fiction that I have ever shared with anyone other than friends. So please, be completely honest in your criticisms.)
Hermione woke in a daze. ‘Just what exactly happened last night?’ she thought. She remembered supper, and the D.A. meeting, and… “Uh oh.” She said aloud before quickly jumping from bed, slipping into her robes (trying not to think about the fact that she had woken up nude), and running down the stairs to the common room. She was relieved to see Harry, already awake and seated in his favorite chair by the fireplace.
“Harry!” she said, sounding severe, “wh—“ she stopped abruptly when she saw the suggestive grin on Harry’s face.
“Why did you wake up naked?” he asked her question for her. Her eyes grew wide. Clearly, whatever had happened the night before, Harry knew ALL about it. Harry laughed.
“Relax, Hermione. Nothing happened.” He soothed, “You remember that potion you were working on? The one to help you retain more information…” Hermione nodded, of course she remembered. “Well, I don’t know how much YOU learned, but the rest of us sure learned a lot,” Harry explained, “I’m not exactly sure what happened. Luna brought you up here about a half hour after you went to the library. According to her, you were flirting with a group of fourth year girls. You were only here a few moments before you started in on Ginny. By the time any of us realized what was going on, you were nude, Ginny was sobbing, and Neville had slipped you a sleeping draft. We convinced Ginny to take you up to bed, but she refused to stay up there, said she was going to sleep down here in the common room; so Ron and I just went to bed.” Hermione’s head was spinning. Aside from the fact that the entire Gryffindor house had seen her in all her naked glory, she had apparently come on very strongly to Ginny, and everyone in the common room had seen that as well, including Ron. She took a few moments to regain her composure and turned to go back to her dormitory.
“Thanks, Harry.” She said, quietly, and disappeared up the stairs.
Hermione sat quietly on her bed, contemplating how she was ever going to live down last night’s occurrences, and also, how it had happened in the first place. She was just about to open up her potions notes and search for mistakes when Ginny entered the room. Both girls’ faces turned pale white at the sight of each other.
“I—I thought you were still asleep.” Ginny explained, awkwardly, “I was looking for my quill; I think I dropped it in here. Have you seen it?” Hermione tried to focus her attention on Ginny’s quill, but could only think of the infinite number of things she could have done to the poor girl the previous night.
“Err… Ginny…” Hermione began. Ginny tensed significantly and took a few steps back toward the door. Hermione pretended not to notice. “Whatever happened last night,” she said, almost a whisper, “I’m sorry.” Ginny was now in the doorway, looking as if she were going to run. She stared, half sympathetically, half defensively at Hermione.
“Just… don’t get to close to me for a while, okay?” she suggested. Hermione nodded, understandingly. “Oh… and… you might want to talk to Luna.” She added. Hermione frowned, puzzled.
“Luna?” she asked, “Why should I talk to Luna?” but when it came time for Ginny to answer, she had already gone. Hermione fell back on her bad and stared at the ceiling. This was going to be a long day.
All through breakfast, Hermione stared, fixedly, down at her plate. She was determined that she was not going to experience any more embarrassment than she had to; and she had a feeling that speaking to Luna about the previous night was going to be just that: embarrassing. When breakfast had finished, she quickly made her way out of the great hall and around the corner to wait for Luna. Just as Hermione was about to explode with anxiety, the odd little Ravenclaw appeared. Hermione let out a sigh of relief, which, apparently, alerted Luna to her presence.
“Oh! Hello, Hermione!” Luna piped up, cheerfully, “I do hope you made it to bed alright?” Hermione flushed.
“Yes… Yes, I got there fine. Thank you.” She started, nervously. Hermione shot random glances all around her to see if anyone was listening. This was much different than being in the Gryffindor common room with Harry, or in the dormitories with Ginny; Everyone in Gryffindor knew about last night’s events. But, talking about it out in the open made Hermione very paranoid, indeed.
“Can we talk in private?” Hermione’s voice shook as she spoke. Luna simply nodded and stared blankly at her.
“Right…” Hermione said, “Room of Requirement? Fifteen minutes?” Luna repeated her previous response and then smiled. Hermione raised an eyebrow at her and turned to walk away; hoping that Luna had actually understood her request, or even heard it. She made her way back to her dormitory, grabbed the potion bottle she had drank, empty, the night before, and then went out in search for the Room of Requirement. When she made it there, she paced on the spot three times, thinking: ‘I need a private place to meet with Luna.” The door appeared and Hermione stepped inside.
She was quickly surprised to find that the Room of Requirement had into an exact replica of her dormitory. Luna was already inside, sitting on Hermione’s bed. Hermione couldn’t help but feel a little uncomfortable.
“You have very nice curtains,” Luna said, running her fingers along the drapes on Hermione’s bed-post, “but I am quite fond of our blue ones.”
“I always thought the Slytherin dormitories would be rather pretty… I do like green, fairly well.” Hermione said, unthinkingly. She soon shook off her statement, realizing it was a completely useless thing to talk about. Luckily, though, she hadn’t wasted time, as Luna didn’t seem to want to comment. Hermione ran her fingers through her hair, partly out of anxiety, and partly out of frustration. She had never felt very comfortable around Luna; she was just… strange. She had also never had the patience to hold an in depth conversation with her, as Luna was not what one would call normal.
The two girls sat in an awkward silence for several minutes, until finally, Hermione got up the courage to ask: “Luna, I—“ she began.
“You’re wondering what happened yesterday in the library.” Luna said, quite certainly. Her omniscience had also been something that always made Hermione uncomfortable, but she didn’t let it bother her, this time.
“Yes!” she said, almost desperately. Luna smiled.
“You snogged me.” She said, unfazed. Hermione’s eyes grew wide.
“I what!?” she asked, making sure she had heard Luna correctly. Luna let out a childish giggle.
“I was sitting in the library, doing research on Nargles, as they’ve been mercilessly attacking me, lately…” she said. Hermione had expected some mentioning of Nargles, or Crumple-Horned Snorkacks, or some other, non-existent, magical creature; but she couldn’t help but get a little annoyed. She rolled her eyes. Luna took no notice and continued talking. “…and just as I was getting up to put my books away, you cornered me. I tried to reason with you, as you hadn’t previously showed any interest in girls, but you wouldn’t listen. It took me about ten minutes to pry you off of me and convince you to go to bed. You agreed quickly when I mentioned going back to your common room. You were mumbling something about Ginny.” Hermione flushed, remembering the conversation she had had with Ginny, just and hour before.
There was yet another awkward silence in which Hermione grabbed up her potion bottle and smelled it, looking for signs of mistakes. Luna gazed at her, curiously.
“What are you doing?” she asked, not seeming to find it strange, but rather intriguing, that Hermione was sniffing a vial. Hermione sighed, deeply. “I took this potion, yesterday, before I… well, you know…” she said, “and I wondered if maybe I had made a mistake and brewed some sort of love potion or something, instead.” Luna giggled and Hermione glared at her, finding no humor in the current situation. She shoved the vial at Luna.
“It’s supposed to smell like cucumbers.” Hermione said. Luna sniffed the empty potion bottle and handed it back to Hermione.
“It DOES smell like cucumbers.” Luna said, simply. Hermione grabbed the vial, roughly, from Luna’s hand and took a long, deep whiff. She felt her head swim and her heart began to pound. Apparently, the scent of the potion still had some effect on her. She shook her head, violently, trying to shake off her quick burst of genius. Luna was gazing, curiously, at her. Hermione did not look at Luna, in fear of what might happened if she did, under the effects of the potion. She sat for a long moment, contemplating what could have gone wrong with her potion. When she could not think of a solution, she chanced a glance at Luna. Luna was still gazing at her with a curious expression. Hermione sighed.
“I need to figure out what I did wrong.” She said, holding up the bottle to clarify. Luna nodded, but said nothing. Hermione threw that bottle onto the bed and stood up. Pacing, she stared at the floor, giving occasional glances in Luna’s direction. She did not like what was going on. She was almost positive she had brewed her potion correctly, and she knew it smelled right. So, why had it had such a strange effect on her? Finally, Luna made a suggestion.
“Maybe you could brew another potion.” She said. Hermione gawked at Luna, who obviously didn’t understand the severity of Hermione’s position.
“So I can end up raping a large number of the younger female population at Hogwarts?” she was shouting involuntarily, “Do you REALLY think that’s such a good idea?” Luna smiled a strange smile that made Hermione feel very uncomfortable.
“It couldn’t hurt.” She said, simply.
Hermione thought for a long moment and finally decided that Luna was right. This was very much against her better judgment, but she had not other choice. She stood up and opened the trunk at the foot of her bed. She pulled out all of the ingredients she needed and looked at Luna, helplessly.
“Let’s get to work.”
The potion was simple. The instructions were clear, and the ingredients were very minor. The two girls worked carefully and diligently. When the potion was finished, Hermione was positive that there were no mistakes. She was also quite sure that it had been brewed EXACTLY as it was the last time. However, she had made her decision, and now she was stuck with it. She scooped up some potion from her cauldron and poured it into a glass that she found in her trunk. She sat down on her bad and stared at the glass. Her procrastination was distracted when she saw Luna digging in her trunk.
“What are you…” she started to ask, and stopped when she noticed Luna stand and walk across the room, holding her own glass. Hermione’s eyes widened. “Wha—“ she started again. But, as usual, Luna was answering her before the question had even left her mouth.
“I thought, if the potion goes wrong again, and BOTH of us are acting strangely, it might take some of the attention off of you.” Luna’s smile never faltered as she spoke. Either she was VERY glad to help, or she rather liked the idea of turning into a temporary, lesbian slut. Hermione didn’t know what to say, or even what to think. Finally, she said the only thing she could come up with.
“Are you sure?” she asked. Luna simply smiled and picked up her potion.
“Would you like to make a toast?” she asked. Hermione couldn’t help but smile at Luna’s light-hearted ease. She crossed the room and picked up her potion as well.
“To ridiculous decisions that OBVIOUSLY won’t end well.” She said. Luna’s face still possessed a childish smile.
“Cheers.” She said, simply, and tossed her head back, swallowing all of her potion in one gulp. Hermione took a deep breath and followed her example.
A few seconds passed in which the two girls stared at one another, waiting, impatiently, for some sort of effect. Then, without warning, there it was. The two girls threw themselves at one another, pressing their lips together, forcefully, and quickly becoming entangled. Without restraint, Luna plunged her tongue down Hermione’s throat; and Hermione was happy to receive it. Both girls hand instantly lost all control, and showed no desire to regain it. Hermione pushed Luna across the room and down onto the bed. Shamelessly, she pressed her body down onto Luna’s and began to let her hands wander. Luna did the same, letting her fingers slip under Hermione’s shirt and trace her way up to her breasts. She squeezed, firmly, causing a small groan to escape Hermione’s lips. Luna smiled at this and made her way back to the outside of Hermione’s shirt to start unfastening the buttons.
When Hermione realized Luna’s plan, she lifted her body slightly and started undoing them herself, allowing Luna to remove her own shirt. Both tops were separated from their owners and tossed onto the floor, followed by their bras. Once again, Hermione pressed her body upon Luna’s. Luna had now spread her legs, allowing Hermione to press one leg, roughly, into her privates. Luna moaned softly and lifted her hips into Hermione’s. Hermione groaned as well. Luna pulled her lips from Hermione’s mouth and began exploring other areas; placing small kisses down Hermione’s neck and collar bone. When she found a place, just above the collarbone, that particularly appealed to her, she began to nibble and suck, hungrily. Hermione moaned, pressing her hips down, hard, into Luna, meanwhile, pulling, desperately, on the other girl’s waistband.
Luna released Hermione’s neck and quickly unfastened and removed her bottoms, leaving only her knickers to cover her. When her own bottoms were gone, she wasted no time in removing Hermione’s. Within seconds, both girls were wearing nothing but their panties and were, once again, pressed roughly together, grabbing and clawing at one another with uncontrollable desire. Then, evidently not being able to refrain any longer, Hermione slipped her hand under Luna’s covering and plunged one, thirsty finger into the younger girl’s pussy. She was quite satisfied to find that Luna was already extremely wet, and had soiled her knickers with her own sweet, womanly juices. Hermione let her finger search deeper and explore every inch of Luna’s sex. When Hermione was satisfied and familiar with her friend’s body, she, roughly, plunged another finger deep inside her.
Luna groaned loudly and her eyes rolled back. Hermione couldn’t hide her satisfaction with herself; she let a small giggle slip through her lips and removed Luna’s only remaining clothing. As she did this, Luna tried to catch her breath; but, she had no time, as within seconds Hermione was once again at work. This time, however, she wasn’t using her hands. She had scooted herself down the bed and was now licking and sucking hungrily at the blonde girl’s vagina. Luna’s eyes rolled back and she let out a loud moan that would have been heard throughout all of Hogwarts, had it not been for the fact that the Room of Requirement was soundproof. Hermione smiled as she worked, clearly pleased with herself. She continued to work, plunging her tongue deeper inside of Luna. Luna’s head was spinning; her entire body was burning. Hermione sat up and looked at Luna a moment, noticing how unbelievably beautiful she was like this.
And then, Luna looked up at her, eye upon eye; and for a brief second, Hermione lost her breath. Luna raised a hand and Hermione grabbed it. The younger girl pulled her down to lay next to her on the bed. Hermione was very confused, but she lay beside the girl, anyway, and placed her head on Luna’s shoulder. She could feel a slight sensation as Luna wrapped an arm around Hermione’s back and started running her fingers through her hair. Hermione sighed.
“This is nice” she said, softly. And in that one, coherent thought, she realized that the potion had worn off. She let out a loud gasp and jumped to a sitting position.
“I—I… Oh my g—…”
Luna giggled.
“Shh.” She said, placing a hand on Hermione’s shoulder, “its ok. Lay down.” Hermione’s eyes were wide as she stared at Luna.
“I remember all of it.” She said, astonished. Luna smiled.
“Me too.” Something in Luna’s smile made Hermione’s worry disappear. She lay back down beside Luna.
“You didn’t finish…” Hermione said, meanwhile wondering why it was so important.
“I know.” Luna replied, calmly. There was a long silence in which Hermione wondered what Luna was thinking. The silence was broken; however, when Luna’s musical voice rang.
“There’s nothing wrong with your potion.” She said, simply. Hermione blinked. “You like me, Hermione. It’s ok; I like you too. You just needed a little more room in your brain to figure it out. As for the other girls; well, I think that was just to make me jealous.”
Hermione sighed. Somehow, she had already figured this out.
“So what do we do now?” she asked. Luna sat up on one elbow, looked Hermione in the eye, and then kissed her. This was not like the first kiss, but gentler, loving.
“What do you want?” Luna asked. Hermione stared at the ceiling and was silent for several minutes. Finally, she answered.
“You.” She said, simply, and curled herself up against Luna’s body. The two girls lay there in silence for several minutes. Just as Hermione was about to fall into sleep, she heard Luna speak the most beautiful words she had ever heard:
“I’m yours.”
FIN!
Hermione woke in a daze. ‘Just what exactly happened last night?’ she thought.
FIN!
