The Reflections of a Man with Regrets
Look at me you may think you see who I really am
But you'll never know me
Every day, is as if I play apart
Now I see if I wear a mask I can fool the world but I cannot fool my heart
A man sat on his bed with his emerald green covers lying across his lap. Looking hauntingly at what was in his hand; his Death Eater mask, while sleeping beside him was the light of his life. The only one who knew, the only one that cared.
Who is that person*** I see staring straight back at me?
When will my reflection show who I am inside?
Sorrow crossing his face as he wonders. Pain swiftly follows when he remembers. A soft heartbreaking cry left his lips as he tries to crush his mask.
I am now in a world where I have to hide my heart and what I believe in
But somehow I will show the world what's inside my heart and be loved for who I am.
Who is that person*** I see staring straight back at me?
Why is my reflection someone I don't know?
Must I pretend that I’m someone else for all time?
When will my reflection show who I am inside?
There's a heart that must be free to fly; that burns with a need to know the reason why.
Why must we all conceal what we think; how we feel?
Must there be a secret me I'm forced to hide?
I won't pretend that I'm someone else for all time.
The woman beside him shifted slightly and he tensed up.
“Severus, what are you doing?”
“Remembering.”
“It’ll be over soon.”
“I know.”
“Let me help you forget for a while,” she said as she pulled him down to kiss her. “If only for a while.”
They moved slowly together, becoming one; leaving the mask forgotten on the floor.
When will my reflections show who I am inside?
“You traitor!” A voice rang out.
Everyone in the area sharply turned their heads in the direction of the voice. They gasped when they saw someone standing there with a full Death Eater outfit.
“Dolens Nex!*” The Death Eater screamed out.
Severus jumped in front of his lover and yelled out a counter spell. The curse bounced off the dome shielding Severus and his lover, and headed right back towards the caster.
When the dark blue light hit him, he screamed out in pain. The screams continued for a few minutes before a horrifying sigh escaped and the man stopped moving.
Everyone looked on in horror before turning to look at the man that now held his lover in his arms.
“Dragostea mea,**” Severus said while holding her to him.
“My love,” she answered back.
When will my reflections show who I am inside?
