The Missing Conversation

A great big thank you to Wildcatcdc for letting me borrow her fantastic characters and story for this oneshot. It was originally written as a submission at Dyno_Drabbles on livejournal.

“Draco, could you come here for a minute?” Harry murmured to Draco, leaning over the back of the sofa.

Draco followed Harry into the kitchen and closed the door behind them. “What is it you want to know, Potter?” Draco asked, leaning against the counter with his hands in his trouser pockets.

“This is harder than I thought it would be,” Harry huffed and rubbed the back of his neck, as if to ease the tension.

“Out with it Potter, I don’t want to leave Hermione alone for too long.”

“Okay, okay… gods, this is embarrassing. What I, Ginny… what we want to know is, how does this whole… lifestyle of yours work?” Harry was having a hard time looking Draco in the eye; instead, he busied himself by stirring something in a pot on the stove.

Draco smiled, amused by Harry’s embarrassment. “By lifestyle, you would be referring, of course, to the Dominant and submissive roles Hermione and I play?”

Harry nodded to the pot, “Yeah.”

Draco looked at Harry for a moment, deciding on the best way to begin. While he clearly longed to teach Harry a lesson on interfering in his relationship with Hermione, the man was her best friend.

“I think I have always been a Dominant, just as Hermione has probably always been a submissive. There are books I can recommend you read if you really want to know more about the roles; some of them are easy reading, like how to play with your witch, while others are more serious tomes that delve into the Dominant’s and submissive’s psyche. At the relationship’s very core, however, is trust. Without trust, the Dom/sub relationship cannot exist.

“From the beginning, Potter, Hermione trusted me. When she agreed to meet me, she trusted me. When she didn’t even know what being a true submissive meant, she still trusted me. Just as I trust her, as I have always trusted her.”

“She didn’t know what it meant, but you still got involved with her? Didn’t you think she should have at least known what she was getting into? So, how did you talk her into it? Did you even give her a choice, ask her if this was something she wanted?” Harry asked, outraged.

Draco said tersely, “Didn’t you hear what I just fucking said? Trust, Harry. We trust each other. And we’ve set-up rules for playing. Either of us can stop playing. At any time, for any reason. That is where the trust begins.”

Harry relaxed, reassured. “So,” Harry said, “You and Hermione, you tie each other up and stuff, huh?”

Draco smirked, a smile lifting the corner of his mouth. “No, Harry, we don’t tie each other up.”

Harry closed the lid on the pot and leaned back against the kitchen counter smiling. He felt better knowing that wasn’t the type of relationship his best friend and Draco were in.

Draco couldn’t resist telling Harry the truth. “I use handcuffs and spreader bars to hold Hermione down while I spank her, then I use an anal plug and clamps to drive her over the edge. And when she is panting and sweating and screaming from her third orgasm, I plunge my…”

“Stop! Too much fucking information!” Harry screeched. Cupping his hands over his ears, Harry sang, “La la la la la… I can’t hear you!” and scurried out of the kitchen. On his way out, with his hands still covering his ears, Harry looked back over his shoulder and said, “Just write the name of those books down…”

“My pleasure, Harry. Glad I could answer your questions,” Draco said smugly to the now-empty kitchen. As he reached for the quill and spare bit of parchment lying on the counter next to Ginny’s shopping list and jotting down the names of a few books, he mused, “I wonder who’s the submissive? My money’s on Harry,” he laughed, throwing the quill down and leaving to join Hermione.
