I don't own HP. I wouldn't post here if I did. The Auther Godess JKR gets all the money from them...I get nothing. Except momentary entertainment. ^_^
I'd Lie
A/N: I don't normally write Het...like, ever, really, except as side-bars in my Slash fics. But...this song was too perfect to pass up! I hope you all like it! Yes, Albus is alive and weird shit like that...sorry. You'll live.
Dumbledore stood and smiled at the students, who grew quiet quickly. "Tonight, our Head Girl has asked for a few minutes of our time to...address an issue that has been bothering her. I felt it wasn't too much to ask and agreed. Please, be respectful."
Hermione stood up and walked, not to the Head Table, but towards the doors. She waved her wand and a small stage appeared, complete with microphone and spotlights, which turned on as over half the candles in the Hall went out. Her hair was loose and tamed, with just a light curl to it, she had makeup on, and as she climbed up the stairs to the stage her outfit changed to a pair of tight blue jeans, black heels, and a tight-fitting green tee-shirt with the words "Do you get it now?" printed on it in black.
She cleared her throat at the mic and smiled nervously. "Okay, um...I just wasn't sure how else to put this out there since...well, since the person this is for is kind of dense. So...I doubt it gets more obvious than this."
With that she closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and as she opened them again she began to sing.
"I don't think that passanger seat, has ever looked this good to me. He tells me about his night, and I count the colors in his eyes." She had a dreamy smile on her face and is looking dead at the Gryffindors, most of whom are torn between watching her and watching Ron, waiting for him to understand.
"He’ll never fall in love he swears, as he runs his fingers through his hair. I’m laughing cause I hope he's wrong." As she sang these words, a screen behind her showed an image of her and Ron in the Common Room, with Hermione laughing and Ron grinning sheepishly.
"And I don't think it ever crossed his mind. He tells a joke; I fake a smile. But I know all his favorite songs." Here the screen showed an image of Hermione, looking hurt, as Ron watched Lavender Brown walk by, then said something with a grin. The screen-Hermione forced a smile, while the real-life Ron turned red.
"And I could tell you, his favorite color's green." Hermione touched her tee-shirt as she sang this line. "He loves to argue, born on the seventeenth." The screen flashed a shot of Hermione and Ron in a screaming-match.
"His sister's beautiful," Here there showed a picture of Ginny, then as she sang the next line, one of Arthor and Ron together. "He has his father’s eyes."
The screen went blank for a moment as Hermione sang sadly, "And if you ask me if I love him, I’d lie."
"He looks around the room, innocently overlooks the truth." Here was a shot of Ron and Hermione in her room at her parents' house, with Ron examining the things in the room while Hermione stares longingly at his back. "Shouldn’t a light go on? Doesn’t he know that I’ve had him memorized for so long?"
"He sees everything in black and white." Here was a shot of him playing chess with Flitwick. "Never let nobody see him cry. I don’t let nobody see me wishing he was mine." Here was a shot of Hermione crying in her dorm room, a picture of Ron laying beside her on the four-poster bed.
"I could tell you, his favorite color's green. He loves to argue, born on the seventeenth. His sister's beautiful, he has his father’s eyes, and if you ask me if I love him...I’d lie." As Hermione sang the chorus, the same images as before flashed across the screen.
"He stands there, then walks away. My God if I could only say: I’m holding every breath for you..." Behind Hermione ran a scene of Ron standing before Hermione as though waiting, then turning and walking away. Behind his back, Hermione opened her mouth and reached out a hand, before dropping it back to her side, biting her lip, and walking away as well.
"He’d never tell you, but he can play guitar." Here flashes an image of Ron in the orchard behind The Burrow, playing a beat-up old accoustic not even Harry had ever seen. "I think he can see through everything but my heart." Another shot of Hermione watching Ron longingly while he didn't notice.
"First thought when I wake up is, "My God, he’s beautiful." So I put on my make up and pray for a miracle." Here it showed an image of Hermione, in the outfit she currently had on, applying makeup while a photo of Ron sat on the edge of the vanity whose mirror she used.
"Yes, I could tell you his favorite color's green." She touched her tee-shirt again as a picture of Ron dressed all in green flashed on the screen. "He loves to argue, oh and it kills me." Here was a shot of an arguement most remembered...the one that followed the Yule Ball, where Hermione all but told him she liked him, then ran off in tears.
"His sister's beautiful; he has his father’s eyes..." Shots of the Weasley's flashed on the screen.
The screen then went dark and Hermione sang, soflty. "And if you asked me if I love him...if you ask me if I love him...I’d lie."
As the music wound down, Ron walked slowly up to the stage and climbed the stairs. Standing next to Hermione, he asked softly, so the mic barely picked it up. "Do you love me?"
Hermione, with tears filling her eyes, whispered in a voice that shook, "No."
Ron grinned, leaned down and kissed her softly, then said. "I love you too, 'Mione."
