Warning NC17
BANG, a loud sound emanated from the small house followed by loud muffled yelling and hysterical laughter causing Hermione to jump back from the door she was about to open. After so long she shouldn’t be surprised by the amount of commotion coming from her second home. She chuckled softly as she opened the door almost excited to see what new and ridiculous thing has happened in the Burrow today.
Opening the door she found the group of her favourite people in the world all covered in white and pink icing and Molly Weasley threatening and menacing with a wooden spoon at a very scared and very pink and white Ron. “Ronald Weasley.. WHAT DID YOU DO!?!”, Ron looking around while opening and closing his mouth looking like a fish barely managed to point to the twins who were now on the floor laughing hysterically while Harry and Ginny tried to wipe icing off the face of the crying twins in their arms. The twins, going dead silent realizing they’d been found out bolted out the door into the backyard past the remaining Weasley clan tried to rush in to see what happened but had to avoid an angry mother.
It was at this point that Hermione decided to finally say something. “Why does this not even surprise me” Hermione giggled as everyone looked up. “Hermione!” everyone rushed to see her, everyone saying several things at once. Until Harry cleared his throat and looking very serious covered in pink managed to get everyone to be quiet and said “Did you get the results back yet?”
Everyone went very silent as Hermione very slowly pulled up an envelope and screamed “I GOT IT” while jumping up and down dancing and giggling like crazy. Everyone rushed forward to hug and congratulate her. It was a wave of family that hit her with support and she was over the moon.
“We baked you a cake to congratulate you” Ginny said.
“But the twins thought it would be more fun and exciting to celebrate with a little more bang” chuckled Harry.
“Want me to scrape you a piece off the wall?” offered Ron “It’s still good!”
“No thanks” Hermione said with a grin, “I think I’ll take a piece home though, that chunk on the fridge doesn’t look too bad”
Everyone was smiling proudly at Hermione, and she knew the razzing was about to begin.
“So you’ll be working with Snape then?”
“Mr. Menacing will be teaching you how to become a master of Potions?”
“You worked that hard for 3 years to just go back to school all over again? And with Snape to boot?”
“So you’re excited about spending every day with him? Good Gods Hermione why?!”
“Yes, yes, yes and yes, and don’t be so snarky, he was major in helping us win the war! And I’m sure he’s very nice when he doesn’t have to deal with kids who don’t know what they’re doing. This time he’ll be dealing with two students who’ve been around the block and won’t stuff up”
“Alright guys, you can razz her more when she’s got more dirt on Snape but for now leave her be” interjected Harry. Snape and Harry had formed a silent friendship over the years and he was never really patient with people talking about him in any negative way. The man was a hero and someone who had risked his life repeatedly for love. Not someone who should be teased.
Ron, who had managed to clean up during this family interrogation managed to make eye contact with Hermione and nodded his head towards the door leading outside. Hermione understanding what he meant followed him out.
Slowly, Ron turned to her and softly said, “You’re leaving me.”
Hermione gasped, “I’m leaving you? You have to be joking Ron.”
The truth was Ron had very ugracefully dumped her two years ago (not that graceful was a word used to describe Ron). Hermione had walked in on him with some random girl at a party. He claimed he didn’t want to be tied down just yet. The only reason they were really on good terms anymore was because Hermione had realized just how lucky she was to get out when she could. Ron was a good friend, but a terrible boyfriend.
“I’m leaving you...” She restated, “You left me!”
“Well, but I just, I always thought you’d wait for me. And now you’re leaving.” Ron mumbled
It was at this point Hermione saw red.
“Wait for you?! Why on earth would I wait for you when you made in painfully clear you never wanted to bookish girl but the one who could suck you off in the men's bathroom!? Why would I want someone who can’t even look after himself let alone me!?! I was not waiting for you Ron, I will never wait for you. Get yourself absorbed head out of your ass” Hermione stormed away and back into the house completely ignoring the fact that Ron was still outside stunned with his jaw to the floor. Harry, knowing that something was wrong when Hermione came in with flushed cheeks biting her lip had already guessed the reason and was quite proud of Hermione. He knew what Ron wanted and he didn’t want that for Hermione, he always knew she was way too complex for him. He decided that he wouldn’t bring it up until Hermione did and she seemed perfectly content with continuing celebrating her acceptance with her family and not let Ron ruin her day, so he went along with it.

Meanwhile at Malfoy Manor.....
Draco opened the letter at the breakfast table with shaking hands while his mother and father silently ate breakfast. “Congratulations Mr. Malfoy....” Draco let out a sigh of relief and calmly said
“I got accepted into the program I wanted.”
Lucius Malfoy simply looked at him over his paper and arched an eyebrow while Narcissa calmly said, “That’s nice dear.”
“Well congratulations Draco.” He thought, “You deserved it Draco. You worked really hard. I’m proud of you Draco. I do in fact notice your existence Draco. Small simple things I would have loved to hear...”
