Seventh Year
Draco walked into the upscale pub with an air of sophistication and grace. He searched the low lit room until he found his target. She was sitting alone at a table in the corner, drinking what looked like scotch out of a stout glass. The sweater clung to her in a way that was positively sinful and Draco had to take a deep breath before approaching her.
He crossed the room and sat himself in the chair closest to her.
“So you’re her?” Draco was usually suave when it came to the ladies. It was a well known and well documented fact. But this was not a girl he intended to seduce. Of course the thought had crossed his mind as he looked the girl across from him up and down again.
The girl was Calliope Stormcrowe and when he addressed her she uncrossed and recrossed her legs, licked her lips, and put her scotch down before raisin an independent eyebrow.
“What can I do for you Lord Malfoy?” She asked calmly. Her voice was low and tickled Draco in ways that he wasn’t sure were possible until that moment. He smirked at the use of his newly acquired title. When the war had ended in their fifth year his parents, along with most of those loyal to the Dark Lord, were dead. Draco had inherited the title and all of the perks that came with it.
They both knew why they were meeting. Draco had gone to great lengths to make this meeting happen. Blaise had not exactly been forthcoming with the information about the mysterious Ravenclaw. But Draco and Blaise had been mates for much longer than many knew and Blaise had eventually folded and told Draco everything, it was then that Draco insisted on a meeting with the brunette.
“Is friendly conversation too much to ask?” Draco asked with a smug look. The smirk that spread across Calliope’s face rivaled one of his own.
“We both know that you aren’t here for conversation. Now, what could you possibly want with a lowly plebeian like myself?” she asked, mischief dancing in the honey brown eyes across from him.
“Lowly plebeian? We both know that isn’t true Lady Stormcrowe.” Draco said with a smirk as he signaled the bartender for a refill for Calliope and one for himself. In that precise moment Calliope cursed Blaise Zabini.
“That title transfer is confidential.” Calliope said casually, leaning back in the overstuffed chair. It elongated her body and Draco couldn’t help but drag his eyes over every inch of it.
“Not to me.” Draco said. Calliope nodded slowly.
“What can I do for you Draco?” she asked. A hundred thoughts sprung to Draco’s mind, not one of them appropriate, but he fought them down. He had a plan. A plan that would make his seventh year at Hogwarts the most enjoyable yet.
“I learned a few things from our mutual friend.” Draco said as the drink appeared on the table. Calliope just waited until he continued. All Blaise was willing to tell her was that Draco had a proposition for her, and her curiosity had gotten the best of her, which is how she found herself here. “For example, I’ve learned that you are quite the womanizer.”
“I’ve stayed away from your chases Draco, and mine have stayed well under the radar. I’d appreciate that they stay that way.” Calliope said calmly. It briefly crossed her mind that he was here to blackmail her, but the thought melted away as she noticed his fixation on her fingers that toyed with a necklace she was wearing.
“I won’t out you Calliope.” Draco said as he sipped his scotch, he made a mental note to comment on the girl’s exceptional taste at a later date. It was the first time he’d said her first name, and the way it rolled off his tongue made Calliope shift in her seat. If Draco noticed the shift he said nothing. “I would however love to compare notes.”
Calliope raised an eyebrow but remained silent.
“I may have also heard that you tend to take a…suitor of sorts for the year.” Draco said, his voice just above a whisper despite the empty room.
Calliope laughed, a deep throaty sound that shot straight to Draco’s groin. She ran a hand through the chocolate brown hair that fell in waves just past her shoulders before running the same hand down her face and reaching for her drink.
“Your friend has a big mouth.” Calliope commented before taking a sip of scotch.
“Only to me, I assure you.” Draco said quickly. There was a short silence in which they sipped the amber liquid swirling in their drinks. “You broke his hear by the way.”
Calliope nodded. “I would believe that if I believed that he had a heart.” She said and set down the scotch. “I was under the impression that you had a proposition for me.”
“I do.” Draco said mirroring her actions. “I would like to be your suitor for the year.”
Calliope looked confused for a moment so Draco continued. “I’m quite tired of courting someone new each year and having to maintain the pretense of loyalty. It’s my last year and I would like it to be as enjoyable as possible.”
Calliope took a moment to soak in the information before asking an inevitable question. “and what makes you think I’m the best choice for this?”
“Simple.” Draco said leaning back in the chair and resting his ankle on the opposite knee. It made the crotch of his trousers impossibly tight and Calliope couldn’t resist the urge to inspect it at length. When she finally looked back up to Draco’s face, he wore a knowing smile. “You have no problem with infidelity.” He paused to allow her to object, but she had no need to. “I don’t have to worry about you finding another man.” Once again she remained silent. “And it is befitting of our social stature.”
“You make all very good points.” Calliope responded while nodding slowly. “There is just one problem.” Draco waited. “I don’t share my girls.”
Draco laughed and nodded. “fair enough. We won’t share until you change that policy. Anything else?”
“I don’t tolerate pureblood nonsense.” Calliope said and hoped she wouldn’t have to explain it any further. Draco nodded.
“Blaise explained in great detail your preferences for how people are treated.” Draco said. Calliope smiled and thought for a moment.
“I’m sure I can come up with more things as we court.”
“We’ve been courting all summer luv.” Draco corrected. Calliope raised the independent eyebrow Draco was becoming irrationally fond of.
“Is this the part where you explain the benefits of snogging on the Express?” she asked.
“Well no…but I do like the way you think.” Draco said with a grin. “I just thought it would make more sense for believability. I mean if we’re pretending to court we should make it believable.”
“Oh you misunderstood Draco. I don’t pretend to court anyone. I am, after all, a Lady by all standards and I will be treated as such.”
“By all means.” Draco said. He always enjoyed having a girlfriend. Having one person who he could always count on for a snog, or even just to spend time with. The more time he spent with Calliope the more it was becoming obvious what a terrific match this could turn out to be.
“Then I do believe we have an accord Lord Malfoy.” Calliope said before polishing off her drink. When her tongue swiped along her lower lip Draco couldn’t help himself. He leaned forward, his hand clasped around the back of Calliope’s neck and her pulled her to meet him halfway and kissed her like his life depended on it. A soft moan fell from Calliope’s lips as Draco slid his tongue against hers.
Her hand fell to his thigh and grasped tight as they kissed slowly and leisurely, as if they’d been doing ti for years. Calliope couldn’t hide the flush on her skin as Draco pulled away.
“It’s a deal then.” He said leaning back. Calliope just nodded. “May I escort you home?”
Calliope smirked at the politeness in his voice, his tongue having just been in her mouth. “That would be lovely Draco.”
Draco stood, dropping a few coins on the table and moved to slide Calliope’s chair out, offering her an arm as they walked from the tavern.
They walked the short distance to Calliope’s townhouse in a comfortable silence. “I won’t be inviting you Lord Malfoy.” Calliope said as her hand rested on the doorknob of her front door.
“Of course not.” Draco said with a smile. “I’ll come ‘round and pick you up for the train tomorrow.” It was a question but Calliope nodded regardless. Her hand came up and caressed the side of Draco’s face before leaning up to kiss him softly, not at surprised to be pushed back against the front door.
As Calliope’s hands caressed Draco’s chest it became apparent to her that he had grown up from the weak looking little boy to a well grown man. She slid her hand up over his shoulders to pull him closer to her and couldn’t help noticing the strength in them. Draco slid his hands down to grip her ass tightly as they kissed against the door. He didn’t stop himself from grinding his arousal against her stomach but pulled back after a few delicious minutes.
“I’ll see you tomorrow my lady.” He said with a cocky grin. Calliope shot him a teasing glare and nodded. As Calliope entered the house and Draco walked to find a decent place to apparate from they both had the same thought: it was going to be an interesting year.
He crossed the room and sat himself in the chair closest to her.
