The Prophecy is Spoken

The darkness of the night threatened to suffocate anyone who ventured outside. The constant intimidation of Voldemort and his Death Eaters kept Wizards and Witches in their homes after dark. Death Eaters attacked more and more muggle and mixed blood houses every night. The Dark Mark they left behind hung gleaming above a smoldering pile of ashes. This night, in particular, demanded protection. Tonight, even the Death Eaters stayed inside. The world demanded the attention of all parties in the war.

In a small house not far from the Wizarding town of Hogsmead, a young girl played with her favorite dolls in her bedroom. She dressed them carefully in beautiful dresses and pretended they lived in a world of light and happiness. The small child dreamt of happy days, but these days seemed to always remain a dream. She had never known a day without fear of the Dark Lord. The five-year-old with shimmering brown hair and darling violet eyes hummed a made-up tune as her dolls danced around her. Her hands remained at her sides as she used her magic to play with the dolls. Her mother and father quietly watched from the doorway, ever weary of her growing powers. They didn’t know the most important part of her life would occur that night.

The little girl laughed happily as her darling dolls smiled back at her as they danced. The blissful, worriless scene suddenly ended by a massive gust of wind that ripped past the tiny home. The little girl’s window shutters slammed against the house, causing her mother to jump and shriek in freight. The small child took no notice to the frightening wind, however. Her eyes glowed bright white, the smiling dolls fell to the floor forgotten, and rigidly facing her mother the small brunette recited:

Dark and Light must soon collide
No longer let the truth hide
Follow not the path to the soul
Conceive a new answer, now foretold
With this answer secured in tight
The only outcome will be light

The prophecy was made. A glowing ball appeared in the Department of Mysteries, It magically soared passed thousands of identical balls to its rightful spot, next to the empty spot of its counterpart. The memorizing ball found its place under the label of “Harry Potter and Tom Marvolo Riddle.”

Far away at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Harry Potter searched endless through ancient textbooks. Unaware of the prophesied answer, his tired eyes scanned miniscule print in hopes to find an answer to the end of Lord Voldemort. It was then that the fateful wind finally reached the tower of Gryffindor. The strong gust of bone chilling wind blew the common room window open. Surprisingly it didn’t wake the sleeping redhead on the overstuffed couch. Harry moved to close the shutters, shivering in the eerie night air. Sighing in exhaustion, Harry adjusted Ginny’s blanket and went back to work.
