Prologue
He had no idea how he came to be here. Last thing he remembered was being locked into the cupboard. Again. He had watched the spider making a web out of the fine threads, until his vision blurred with tears. He had cried himself to sleep, the uncomfortable bedding hurting his back.
The light woke him up. It was unusual. He could never see the light until Petunia let him go out of his prison.
The unfamiliar room did not scare him. In fact, it looked extremely comfortable. It was as if an unseen presence had welcomed him there.
It was a bit dusty, but not too bad. He looked around from the small couch he had slept on but no one else was there. His hearing was sharp, but it failed to catch any sounds. Wherever he was, he was alone.
He lowered his feet to the unusually warm floor. The room had three doors. As long as he was here, he could explore the place.
With that thought, Harry Potter went through the first door.
