What Dreams May Come
A/N: Just wanted to try writing and wanted to see what other people think.
Chapter 1
The war was finally over, that’s all Harry could think of as he lay there bleeding. After all the time he had spent learning magic, it was a muggle weapon that ended it all. Harry never thought it would be as simple as cutting off Voldemort’s head with a sword. Harry opened his eyes when he felt himself being picked up off the floor and he swore he saw an angel, then everything went black.
-----------------------------------
As soon as the Dark Lord had died the battle changed drastically. The Death Eaters knew it was over and most of them just gave up and laid down their wands. The only one who didn’t was Bellatrix, she kept on dueling Hermione until that last curse caught her right between her eyes.
“That was for Ron,” Hermione screamed,”and this is for Sirius!” Then she kicked the dead body in the face.
Hermione looked over to see if Harry was alright and gasped when she saw that Draco Malfoy was walking out of the room with Harry in his arms. She ran to catch up with them to make sure that Harry was still alive.
“Is he still breathing,” gasped Hermione as she caught up.
“Just barely, we need to get him to Pomfrey quickly,” Draco said as he kept running, “can you make a portkey to get us there Hermione, we’ll need to get out of these wards first.”
Hermione ripped off a piece of her robe and started muttering a spell as they ran out from building they were in. As soon as it started glowing she grabbed Draco’s arm and they landed a few seconds later in the Hospital wing. Madame Pomfrey came running out of her office when she heard Draco scream for help and automatically started casting spells to figure out all that was wrong with the three teenagers in front of her.
“Put harry on this bed,” she ordered as soon as she realized that he was the only one seriously hurt.
“Is he going to be ok,” Hermione asked trying not to cry.
“I don’t know right at this moment Miss Granger, but you and Mr. Malfoy need to wait outside. I’ll let you know as soon as I can.”
Draco and Hermione went to wait outside as Madame Pomfrey kept muttering spell after spell behind them, both of them wishing there was something they could do. They sat there for what seemed like hours before Madame Pomfrey finally came out of the room. By that time they had been joined by the Weasleys and Tonks.
“Harry is going to be ok he just needs to rest for awhile, he had a lot of internal injuries that took quite a bit of time to heal with magic but it looks like everything is going to be ok,” Poppy explained.
Everyone sighed in relief and Mrs. Weasley, Hermione and Ginny started crying. Draco stood up and started walking away as everyone started talking at once about what would happen now that the war was over. Ginny saw him leaving and went over to try and talk to him before he could get away.
“Where do you think you’re going?” Ginny asked.
“Getting away from all you bloody Gryffindorks,” he spat out.
“You know you don’t have to act like this anymore. It’s over you don’t have to keep up this façade, you’re not a spy anymore,” she whispered.
“Who said it was an act,” Draco replied as he turned around and walked away.
