Pictures worth a Thousand Gold
Title: Pictures worth a Thousand Gold
Characters - Tanille Caedes, Nostradamus Eucharistia
Item - A ball of yarn
Sentence - "Why do I even bother trying?"
------
“Why do I even bother trying?” The blond girl’s voice seemed almost lost to the sound of the wind as it blew across the roof. She had ventured out to such a place because she had heard a rumor of something very strange, and very interesting above. The rumor was something that had to be investigated, if only because it sounded too good to be true. But it seemed the moment she stepped out of the door and onto the precipice that was the roof, the Slytherin Perfect found herself wishing that she had instead ignored the rumors as just that. Silly stories. However, it was true. The proof was right before her, in the very small remnants of yarn left in the ball. A ball that had gotten bigger as she had followed it back to it’s source. Follow it she did. To the roof and the owner of said yarn and to the sight she was now seeing.
There, wrapped up in a skein of the bright yellow yarn was a familiar younger figure. His young Spanish frame was bound in it. Looping in a thousand little knots around his hands and feet. Looping all the way around his body, even to his brown hair. Hair that was topped in the strangest of things. But it made even more since as the Perfect looked at the Hufflepuff that lay writhing in the tangle of string. She had missed it on first sight. But now it was obvious. It was her friend… Nostradamus. But why on earth was he tangled in yarn? And what was with that outfit? There was a quick grouping of flashes before she moved into his line of sight.
Nostradamus looked up at the Perfect with his amber colored eyes and a bright color came to his face. Try as he might, he could not get himself untangled from the mess of string in order to snatch the headband from off his head. A headband, decorated with what appeared to be tiger striped kitty ears that seemed to match his natural skin tone and his dark hair. Even if he could, the cat paw gloves would have prevented anything more dexterous than batting the ears away. Even his feel had that same tiger print encasing them. Tanille was sure that if Nostradamus rolled over, she would surely see a tail to finish the whole thing out.
With a very red tone upon his face, the Hufflepuff made a soft mewing sound. “Help…I’m stuck.”
The Perfect considered for a moment just leaving the boy there. But she was not a mean Slytherin. And regardless of how cute Note might be tied up in such a way, she felt pity for him. Even as she started to help untangle Nostradamus-kitty, Tanille stated softly. “And this, Nostradamus, is why I avoid Gia Zane.” Still, she wondered how much Garn would pay for the images she had snapped of Note before she had made her presence known.
