New Time In The Past

A big flash of light filled the Great Hall whilst everyone was at dinner one fateful night in the

beginning of September. When that light faded, three bewildered people stood in the center of the

Great Hall. They were obviously out of place in the Great Hall, wearing robes of a design no one had

ever yet seen. One of the newcomers looked like James Potter, another looked like Lucious Malfoy and

the last did not look human.

“Excuse me, would you three care to tell me your names?” asked Headmaster Dumbledore.

“Sorry sir, but can you tell us what year it is?” the boy who looked like James Potter asked.

Dumbledore looked at the mysterious boy quizzically. How was it possible that these children didn’t

know what year it was?

“It’s the year 1977. Will you tell us your names please?” the wizened old man asked. The boy blanched

and ran his fingers through his hair. The boy really did look like James Potter’s long lost twin,

barring the vibrant green eyes and lightning bolt scar on his forehead.

“Oh sorry, my name is Harry Potter.” He said, before gesturing beside him.

“The person on my right is Draco Malfoy and the person on my left is Christina Mars.” Dumbledore

switched his gaze to the two children standing beside the first. Draco Malfoy was several inches

taller than Lucious Malfoy but otherwise they too could be taken for twins. Draco had steel gray

eyes that sparkled benieth the silky fall of platinum blonde hair. The girl was sallow, pale as

death, with platinum blonde hair and cold blue eyes ringed with smoky eyeshadow. They obviously

couldn’t be from this time, her attire was too risqué.

“Why did you ask me what year it was? Are you not from this time?” the old man asked. The girl shook

her head before answering in a cool lilting tone.

“Headmaster Dumbledore, the three of us live in the year 1997,” Christina told him. Dumbledore’s eyes

lost some of their sparkle and he stroked his beard, deep in thought. How was it possible for them

to have come so far from the future?

“Ah, I see. However did you end up being transported twenty years into the past?” the Headmaster

asked.

“Well, I believe Harry’s best friend Ron Weasley accidentally put some extra potion supplies into our

cauldron during potions class. The potion exploded all over us. It then began to glow and then

flashed us here.” replied Draco boredly.

“You will have to stay here for a while as we have no way to send you back to your own time. We are

going to sort you each into one of the houses. Professor McGonagall, will you please go get the

sorting hat?”

The severe witch left the hall to retrieve the hat from Dumbledore’s office, leaving the three to

look around the great hall. Harry was a little disheartened to find that everyone was staring at

them, including his sixteen year old parents. When Professor McGonagall had returned, she instructed

the three students to gather around her.

“Draco Malfoy,” she stated. She placed the hat on his head, not even a second went by before the hat

put him in the house he knew he would be placed in.

“SLYTHERIN!” yelled the Hat. Professor McGonagall snatched the hat from his head and placed it on

Christina’s head as she spoke her name.

“Christina Mars,”

“GRYFFINDOR!” the Hat shouted. Christina calmly took the hat from her head and handed it to Harry,

who looked to his Head of House for permission.

“Harry Potter,” she called for the last time.

“GRYFFINDOR!” the hat yelled before it fell silent and the three hapless time travelers went to their

respective tables. Draco went and sat next to a boy with long black hair who introduced himself as

Severus Snape and Harry and Christina went to sit next to five familiar looking people at the

Gryffindor table. The people that Harry and Christina sat next to introduced themselves as James

Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, Peter Pettigrew and Lily Evans.

“Er... so are you really from twenty years in the future?” asked Lily Evans?

“What? No. We just felt like saying that,” Christina said sarcastically.

“Christina!” Harry exclaimed loudly. “Yes, we're from the future. We were actually hoping this would

happen so that we could change what will happen in four years.” Harry said as he looked at them.

“We are also going to try and stop someone from joining with Moldy Voldie,” Christina said as she

drank from her goblet.

“Who?” they asked, almost in complete unison.

“We'd rather not say right now. We don't want you all to turn on the person as soon as you hear their

name.” Heads turned to the Professors’ table when Dumbledore stood up and cleared his throat.

“Attention students, since we have three new students and no more rooms in the dorms they will have

rooms on their own,” the Headmaster said candidly, “But they will be in their house area so would the

seventh year Gryffindor and Slytherin prefects please stay behind. The rest of you are dismissed.”

All the students except Severus Snape, Draco Malfoy, Bellatrix Black, Lily Evans, Remus Lupin,

Christina Mars and Harry Potter left. A woman with long black hair and Professor McGonagall came up

to the students and the woman with the black hair introduced herself as Professor Blacknight. The

Headmaster said

“Mister Malfoy, your rooms will behind the picture of Salazar Slytherin, so would you Mister Snape

and Miss Black please show him towards his room? Thank you both and have a great night” And with that

the Head of Slytherin and the Students of Slytherin left.

“Alright Miss Evans and Mister Lupin, would you show Mister Potter and Miss Mars to the picture of

Godric Gryffindor? The password is Griffin Sword. Good night and we will see you four tomorrow after

breakfast. Professor McGonagall then left the Great Hall and the last of the students headed towards

Gryffindor tower. It took them a while longer than it normally would have because Harry and Christina

were showing the others parts of the school that was not there in their time.

Draco P.O.V

As soon as they got out of the hall, Severus asked Draco “So why are you with Potter and Mars since

they are in Gryffindor?”

“Well, Christina is now my god sister. My godfather recently got custody of her, because her mum and

her stepfather abused her. In our time Christina is in Slytherin,” Draco explained.

“If she is in Slytherin in your time, why is she in Gryffindor in this time?” asked Bellatrix.

“That is because she doesn’t trust anybody in Gryffindor in this time. The one who caused Harry's

parents’ death is in that house, so we are going to try changing the future so Harry won't have to go

through what he has in our time,” Draco said as they came to the picture of Salazar Slytherin.

“Why are you so chummy with that other Gryffindork?” Bellatrix snarked derisively. Draco smiled

softly and blushed almost indiscernibly.

“Harry is amazing. This is the second time he’s bargained with the hat to place him in Gryffindor.

Harry and I have been dating each other for a while and partly what attracted me are the Slytherin

traits he hides from everyone. In our first year, the hat was going to place him in Slytherin. I

don’t know how he did it but he got it to put him in Gryffindor.” Bellatrix snorted and stalked down

the hall.

“Password?” the picture of Salazar Slytherin asked.

“The password is Pure Blood,” Severus said to Slytherin and Draco. The frame opened and the two of

them went inside. Draco listened boredly to the rules he already knew from his own time. It was

almost obvious to him that the speech hadn’t changed much from when his Godfather had first given him

the rules in his time.
