Any Romantic Fairytale

Adora Crenshaw sat up in bed, the empty space within her filling with happiness. Today, she was going to Hogwarts. She would finally be able to leave her house. Her eleventh birthday had just passed, with no happiness besides the fact that it made her eligable to attend Hogwarts. When she received her letter, her and her parents were overcome with joy at the thought of her being out of the house. Adora raced down the stairs to check what time it was. Seeing that she had atleast another two hours, she went back upstairs and turned the shower on. Her parents were still asleep in their room and didn't show any signs of waking up soon.

"Atleast I'll have some peace and quiet," Adora thought, extremely relieved.

After getting dressed, Adora walked calmly down the stairs, her parents still asleep. Following her, was her trunk with her owl, Chancy, on top. The humorous looking party clambered, unaffected, down the street, towards the train station, unaware of the stir being caused by them. People in cars stopped and starred at the strange little girl pulling a trunk with a caged owl on top. Adora had make this trek many times before whenever she needed to get out of the house, either so that she didn't get hit or that she could rid herself of stress. Walking into the train-station, her arms feeling like they were about to break from the weight being put on them, she walked to Platform 9. She looked around. There was no nine and three-quarters. This was obviously a common question as a boy with black hair looked up at the signs, with the same questioning look as her.

"Hello, are you looking for Platform Nine and three-quarters?" She was the first to talk, hoping that together they could figure out where the dang platform was.
"Erm, yes actually. This would be the logical place, but it seems to not exist." He grimanced. She laughed. A group of people, also with owls, quickly rushed past them and walked directly into the wall.
"Oi! Watch out! There's a wa--" Adora called out to them, realizing that that was how you got through to nine and three quarters. The boy must have realized it at the same time, because they both went rushing at the wall expecting to be propelled backwards from the impact. Arriving on the other side, they both said their goodbyes while making their own way on the train.

Finding an empty compartment on the train, she shut and locked the door, pulled down the blind and put Chancy on the floor. She changed into her school robes and laid down on the seat. 15 minutes later, there was a knock on the door. Adora noticed that the train was beginning to move and she opened the door. A pair of green eyes met her blue eyes. A girl with red hair rivaling her own starred back at her.

"Hello, I'm Eponine. Can I join you, everyone else looks very uninviting." Adora almost winced. She had made it her mission to look uninviting and her this girl was calling her inviting.

"Go right ahead, no one will stop you." Adora said, upset because her hopes of having a peaceful ride to Hogwarts were dashed. As Adora took a closer look, it was apparent to her, that while they both were redheads, they looked nothing alike. Eponine was tall, chunky and had a smattering of freckles dotting her tan face. Adora was short, thin and very pale. Eponine had very rounded features, a short nose, full lips, short ears and a round face, while Adora had a long thin nose, an angular face and ears that looked elvish.

Adora pulled out a book, a signal that she was not to be bothered, and moved near the window. About an hour later, a lady with a trolley came by with some snacks. Eponine bought a heaping bunch. Both were silent. The only movement was when either got up to go to the bathroom or shifted in their seats. Adora had to close her book as the night came closer.

"So, what year are you?" Eponine began the conversation before Adora had even set her book down.
"I'm going to be to in first year." She replied.
"Oh, cool. I'm in first year too! What house do you want to be in?" She was eager to talk, having been silent the whole trip. Adora inaudibly groaned.
"a house." She said pointedly. Eponine didn't seem to get the hint that Adora didn't want to be bothered and that she was being an annoyance.
"Oh, well I want to be in Ravenclaw. My whole family has been for generations. I'm bound to get in." Adora raised an eyebrow and her eye started twitching. She hated people like Eponine. They were far too prissy and immature for her. The kind that would rather talk about nail polish and boys than debate religion or politics.
When Adora didn't reply, Eponine got the hint and left for the bathroom. Needless to say, she did not return. Adora sighed in contentment.
"Why is it so hard to find someone intelligent that's my age? Everyone is such an annoyance that I'm beginning to turn into a hermit." Adora laughed, piercing the silence.

The train turned into the station and Adora got out after everyone else did, making it to the last boat. She followed the group of first years in front of her and waited. She continued waiting for what seemed like an eternity. Soon, a severe looking, old witch appeared walking down the stairs. Professor McGonagall, she was the head of Gryffindor. The Professor explained what was going to happen during the ceremony. She proceeded to walk to the doors that led to the Great Hall and opened them. The heads of most children whipping around in awe, gasping at the scene they took in. Adora was amoung few who had seen the exact same scene in front of her. She had snuck a look at her parents pensieve a couple of months ago, when they had gone out. Apparently, they thought that their minds were so small that they couldnt even keep the memory of their first look at Hogwarts in there. Thinking back to this thought put a smile on Adora's face.
