Severus stared down into the bottle he was nursing. While the Potions Professor was always proper in public, in the safety of his chambers he was a drunken mess…
Your eyes…
As we said our goodbyes…
It had been four months since Harry Potter had defeated Voldemort… and a little more then three months since the savior of the wizarding world had vanished from Severus’ life.
Can’t get them out of my mind
And I find I can’t hide
From your eyes…
All because Severus was to proud to admit how much he needed the younger man.
The ones that took me by surprise
The night you came into my life
Where there’s moonlight
I see your eyes.
They had become lovers in Harry’s fourth year. Neither expected to live to see the next year, much less the end of the war. But when Harry had beaten Voldemort the idea of a long term relationship had made Severus make an ass of himself.
So Harry had left.

Now I’d die for one more day

When I looked into your eyes…
Throwing the now empty bottle aside, Severus fumbled for a quill and parchment. If he didn’t write now he never would.

He poured out his soul, telling his love everything.

Severus sent the letter before he could stop himself, not daring to hope it would be answered.

Two days passed, and Severus had given up hope, when he suddenly heard his door open, and looked up to see caring emerald eyes.
