Disclaimer:
I do not own Harry Potter, nor any of the characters from the books or movies. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Prologue
A/N: Ice and I will be taking turns writing these chapters. I'll write the even ones, she'll write the odds. Why then am I writing the first chapter you ask? Because it is a prologue and so is numbered 0, an even number. Not really, but eh, whatever. Also, our writing styles are a bit different. She'll be writing as Rose and I'll be writing from an outside perspective, 3rd person. Oh, and be warned that for now, this story is un-beta'd. We may get one in the future, but we haven't got one now. -Ivory
Rose Weasley and Albus Potter sat together for their first ride to Hogwarts. Albus seemed much calmer now than he had on the ride to the station and Rose wondered what had changed in such a short amount of time. She, on the other had, was slightly freaking out. She knew her father wouldn't really disown her for not being Sorted into Gryffindor, but what if she wasn't? He would surely be diappointed in her.
"Rosie, what's the matter?" Al asked, watching his cousin.
"My dad. What if I'm not a Gryffindor like he wants me to be, Al?"
"Don't worry about it so much, Rose. Besides, you should be a Ravenclaw anyway. You said so yourself and so did Aunt Hermione."
"Yeah, I guess you're right."
"'Course I am." He stated as the compartment door opened. Rose was sure it wasn't any of their cousins as they were all too busy with their own friends.
"Excuse me, may I sit with you? Everywhere else is full." Rose turned to see the kid her father had pointed out to her at the train station.
"Sure." She answered even though she knew her father wouldn't be happy about it. She couldn't exactly say no, could she? He'd said everywhere else was full. "I'm Rose Weasley, and this is my cousin Albus Potter."
"Hi. I'm Scorpius Malfoy." Scorpius smiled at them. After a while, the three of them started talking freely, no longer worried about insulting the other. They each knew the history between their parents but that was the past and besides, they weren't their parents anyway.
Eventually, they made it to Hogsmeade station, eager to get inside the castle. "Hi Hagrid!" Rose and Al cheerfully greeted the half-giant gameskeeper who would take them to the castle in boats across the lake.
"Hagrid, this is our friend Scorpius Malfoy. Scorpius, this is Hagrid. He's a very good friend of our family." Al introduced them.
"A Malfoy, eh? Well, yeh seem nicer than yer dad." Hagrid passed his judgement.
"Hagrid, please please don't tell our parents yet. They'll be mad at us." Rose still remembered her father telling her not to get friendly with Scorpius.
"I won' Rose." He turned to call the rest of the first years to him.
Scorpius, Rose, and Al were joined in their boat by a blonde girl they didn't know. Hagrid got into a boat by himself and they were off to the castle. Rose and Al had been there before but had never seen the castle from the lake or at night. It was simply breathtaking.
They were met at the stairs into the castle by a man with longish, wavy blonde hair. She led them to a room off the Enterance Hall and started explaining things to them. "My name is Professor Illusin and am your Deputy Headmaster and Head of Hufflepuff. Now, while you're here, your House will be like your family. Any triumphs will earn you House points, any rule-breaking and you will lose points. At the end of the year, the House with the most points will recieve the House cup. That having been said, let's get you all Sorted." Professor Illusin lead the group of First years into the Great Hall.
After the Hat sang it's song, Rose waited nervously at the back of the line, cursing her name for coming so far back in the alphabet.
"Malfoy, Scorpius!" Professor Illsuin called. Rose actually paid attention as her new friend got Sorted.
"SLYTHERIN!" The hat shouted after about 2 seconds, maybe.
Again, Rose zoned out untill, "Potter, Albus!" Everyone's eyes were on Al and Rose felt kinda bad. She knew he hated being singled out like this. If there was someone with him, he didn't care much.
"SLYTHERIN!" The Hat announced. The entire Hall fell completely silent. She looked out and saw James glaring at his brother. Their cousins, Victorie, Dominique, Louis, Molly, and Lucy were all watching him, slightly confused. As quick as he could, Albus rushed over to sit with Scorpius.
Finally, it was Rose's turn. "Weasley, Rose!" She sat on the stool and the Hat was placed on her head.
*Another Weasley? How many of you walk these halls right now?* The Hat said in her head.
*Five, not including myself.* She answered it.
*Very well. Give me a moment.* The Hat mumbled to itself for a moment before shouting, "RAVENCLAW!" She was given applause, unlike Al, though it was very shocked applause.
First a Potter in Slytherin and now a Weasley in Ravenclaw? This could prove interesting.
A/N: Okay, that's the end of the Prologue. Ice's chapter, when she gets it up, will jump to 6th year. Mind you, it'll be a while before she gets it up. Two weeks, tops. I'll try not to let her wait that long though. Until next time!
