The Fire from Within

She sat there at the end of the bed staring at herself in the big vintage mirror above the dresser.

"Huny," he said turning over to look at her, "come over here."

"Go back to sleep Ron. I'm," she looked down and away from her reflection, "I'm going to take a shower."

"Ok Hermione... I love you."

The sides of her lips curled up, "I know dear. I know."

She rose from the bed, looked over her shoulder at him, and proceeded to walk into the bathroom. She closed the door and stood in front of the mirror. She took off her thin satin rode and started to look over inch of her body. To anyone in their right mind she was perfect. She had the bust every girl dreamed of, a small defined waist and hips that weren't too big. She had a flat stomach, thighs that never touched, and a medium size bubble arse. Perfect.

She made a face at herself in the mirror and then turned to start the water for a shower. She stood there under the hot water feeling it beat down on her. Everything was god right then and there. The bathroom was hot and steamy and she felt cleansed of the hard day's work. She dried herself off and said, "I've got to get out of here..."

She slowly opened the door to see if Ron was awake or not. She heard the low purring sound Ron made when he was in deep sleep. She crept across the room to the closet. The room was pitch black and she couldn't see a thing. She finally gave up trying to find a certain something and just grabbed anything. Luckily it was a little sundress. She threw it on and high tailed it out of there. Ron grunted and switched position.

She tip-toed down the stairs and into the kitchen. She stood there for a second contemplating whether or not to leave Ron a note. "Fuck him," she said as she turned and opened the refrigerator. Nothing. It wasn't a big surprise. Ron never went shopping and she never had time to go and do it. "Typical," she said as she grabbed the only thing edible in there, a beer.

Hermione hated beer. The taste, the smell. It completely grossed her out. She took a couple quick swigs and then poured it down the drain. She made a face and said, "Note to self... Never ever drink a beer. Even if it's the only thing you own." She took another look around the kitchen. She opened some cabinets went through some drawers, but still there was nothing. "I give up," she said softly with a deep sigh. She grabbed her keys and exited through the huge stained glass double front doors.

She locked the door and turned to face the world. She scanned the neighborhood and it seemed that time had stopped because nothing was going on. No late not cars driving home. No little animals scavenging through everyone's trash cans. There weren’t even any late night punk ass kids running around vandalizing things. The sky was a gorgeous shade of dark navy blue with streaks of blackish purple. There were spots of shredded clouds here and there, and right smack dab in the middle of it all was the biggest, brightest full moon that lit up the sky.

She slipped into the driver's seat of her brand new fully loaded two door Mercedes and started the engine. She glanced up at the digital clock, 11:30. "Great... Where am I going to go now?" She popped in her favorite CD, put the car in reverse, and drove off down the street.

Hermione had no idea where she was going, or what she was going to do. She didn't care really. All she knew was that she had to get out of there and away from it all.

She had no idea what was in store for her that night... she liked this new feeling.
