It was a short time. Such a short time I had you. But I believe that even a dozen lifetimes wouldn’t have satisfied my need for you. My love for you.

We already knew each other, had always seen each other at our worst and after the War seeing you at that bar in downtown Surry, seeing you smile like you really meant it, I fell.

I fell before I even got the chance to realze I lost my footing.

I was fake, at first. You always said that I was guarded, catious about who I was with. Always the first to defend me, even when I didn’t deserve it.

And somewhere down the line, my walls fell. All the stones and bricks, and all the reserve and caution fell away. Gave in to even a person a begin to like. And for once, I really did love someone. For once, I just loved.

People say that within th last few months of life whoever is t pass on somehow begins to live better. Beins to live more fully. They are right. Even as I was becoming a new person, a betterperson, you became more beautiful.

But sometimes it's hard to see them

We did everything together, we went to Venice to skydive, and to Mazadlan to cliffdive. We made love everywhere. And everytime, be on top or bottom, I shattered. Into a million pieces and you would catch every fragment, and out me back together.
