A/N - This is a
re-write of my previous fic “The World as We Know It”
unfortunately RL as other things prevented me from even thinking of finishing
that. (You know a HUGE case of writer’s block) Hopefully this will turn out
better even though as I was prewriting it seemed to be 10 times the length.
Just as a warning, I
am working a ridiculous amount of hours at my job this month but hopefully I
will be able to update on my one day off each week.
Also I have no beta so
this might only make sense in my mind. Hee
Prologue – Present Day
What would have been Harry Potter’s seventh year at Hogwart’s
many people. Regardless of your house, the school lost entertainment when Harry
departed on an unknown quest with his two best friends rather than return for
his NEWT’s. There were other notable absences from
his year, mostly those students with ties to the Dark Lord that no doubt joined
their parents in their insane quest for blood purity. But in that there was an
exception, the blond aristocrat that many believed to be exactly like his
father, Draco Malfoy.
This Halloween morning school commenced like it always did,
the beginnings of decorations for that evenings lavish feast lined the Great
Hall. The owl post rained down cards and well wishes from home as well as the
Daily Prophet. The headline however was most unusual. A picture of Harry Potter
filled the page and above it read “The Boy Who Lived No More”.
A collective gasp was heard through the hall as more and
more people opened their papers and saw the devastating news. The Gryffindors
started to sob uncontrollably led by Ginny Weasley for their savior, their
golden child. The Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws
had similar reactions but none was as peculiar as the upper year Slytherins.
As soon as he had heard the wails of Ginny Weasley, Draco
Malfoy quirked his left eyebrow towards his hairline and the entire ‘Court of
Slytherin’ got up and walked out of the hall. The head of house, Severus Snape,
also rose at Draco’s signal and looked in the unusually lackluster eyes of the
headmaster. He clearly stated, “This is the beginning of the end and everything
you plot will soon unravel.”
With that Snape ended the procession of Slytherins and began
the gossip of the other houses, most notably the Gryffindors. Over the
distracting wails of the youngest Weasley, the rest of the Gryffindors started
to comment on how all of the Slytherins were returning to Voldemort. Seamus
Finnigan and Dean Thomas were the most boisterous and all of the Gryffindors
joined in except for Neville Longbottom. Neville was
perceived as stupid however he knew much more than he would speak about.
Dumbledore finally stood when the noise reached a deafening
roar. “ENOUGH! There have been a few tragedies today and we must unite to show
a solid front to Voldemort so that someone will defeat him. Although Harry
Potter was our savior once, only a unified community of witches and wizards
will keep his terror from us again.”
The room started to hush its sniffles and stood up cheering
for the man who defeated Grindelwald and who would
lead them to victory once again.

such nice feedback for my last story. This is planned all the way out and has
been semi written so hopefully it will actually be finished some day.
