The Consequences of Solutions

Note: A little Hermione bashing? – Don’t mind if I do… ^_^

Note #2: Short chapter…more to come soooooon.

-------------------------------------
Harry Potter had shuffled through about twenty books that evening, looking for the perfect solution to his problem. He had found tons of options that were almost right, but none that perfectly fit his needs.

He frowned to himself, before absent mindedly slamming the large book he had been browsing closed with a sharp *BANG*. Hermione Granger looked up; frowning at the brunette boy with the glasses sitting at the other end of the table, surrounded in books he claimed was research for an upcoming Quiddich match. But since when did Quiddich call for books on spells, charms, and potions for Relationships and such a serious look on Harry’s face?

Hermione stood up and was halfway around the table towards Harry’s side before he noticed, and hurriedly rolled up the paper he had been taking notes on – which was very suspicious, in Hermione’s expert opinion. In his rush to do that, he accidentally knocked over one of his stacks of books, causing two volumes of rather old Herbology texts to crash to the floor, earning him several glares from nearby teachers. Books were to be respected, not to toss around like a Quaffle in a Quiddich match.

Hermione leaned down and carefully picked up the books, before speaking quietly to Harry. “Honestly Harry, you act like you’re You-Know-Who hiding a Horcrux over here. What in the world could be so important that you can’t even tell me?” ‘The most intelligent teen witch in a century,’ she added to herself, mentally.

The teenage male to her left sighed heavily before deciding to trust her with a little bit of his plan. “Well, Hermione, as long as you’re the only one to know this, I’ll tell you.” Hermione nodded eagerly. She loved secrets.

“The other day, after the last Quiddich match – while I was in the Hospital Wing getting patched from that Bludger to the head that Malfoy delt me – I decided that there has to be a way to bring this rivalry between Malfoy and I to an end. So I started researching for the perfect way to do just that – but it’s been almost a week, and I haven’t been able to find anything!” He complained loudly before being shushed by one of the teachers. Blushing a bit, he brought his eyes back to Hermione.

“Well! If that’s all, I think I might have just the thing for you Harry!” She said excitedly, somehow managing to – in her wonderful ability to follow the rules – keep her voice in check. “Come with me back to the tower and I will show you!”
