Truth or Dare
A/N: I started writing this before DH came out, so I have decided to not change the story line to match. I might do a different version leter, but for now...
Ron was busy getting ready for Bill and Fleur’s wedding. Today was the big day. He looked over at Harry, who had stalled in the middle of putting on his socks.
“You ok?” Ron asked, knowing the answer.
“Yea...well. No. Today is it, you know? I think this may be the last normal day we have for a long time.” Harry responded, finishing with his socks, and getting on his shoes.
“I know mate, but try to enjoy today, yea?” Ron said, going over to pat Harry on the shoulder. Sometimes I wish I could make this all better… Ron thought, watching Harry worry.
“RON! HARRY! WHERE ARE YOU?” They jumped as Mrs. Weasley called up the stairs for them.
“Ugh, are you ready?” Ron said, getting up and looking at their reflections in the mirror. Harry was wearing his green dress robes with a white shirt and bow tie. Ron, who was one of Bills best men, was wearing new black dress robes, also with a white shirt and tie.
“We look quite dashing, don’t you think?” Harry said, trying to lighten the mood.
“Yes we do. Do you reckon we better head down?” Ron said, smoothing his hair again.
“Yea, lets.” Harry said, leading the way out. The twins meet them on the stairs. They too were wearing the black and white of the groom’s men.
“Alright there? Ready for a day full of mushy rubbish?” Fred said, shaking his head.
“I will be very glad when this is over.” George agreed. They hit the kitchen amid the flurry of activity. Mrs. Weasley was presiding over it all, bewitching things to fly various places, and cooking away.
“Hello boys. You all look very smart. Now I need you to…”
“Here we go.” muttered Fred, as she gave out various things for them to do on the way out to the backyard. Mrs. Weasley beckoned Harry over to begin changing his appearance, so that he wouldn’t be recognized at the wedding.
“Now, Ron, Harry, help everyone get settled, and watch out for the table decorations.” Mrs. Weasley said as a platoon of flowers zoomed overhead. Ron and Harry headed outside. They walked towards the huge gold tent covered in wedding bells and white flowers. It had taken them the better part of the day before to get the conglomeration up.
“Have you seen Hermione?” Ron asked, looking around. He was expecting to see her this morning, but was disappointed.
“She’s probably wherever Ginny and the rest of the women are. You know they love this stuff.” George said, passing by levitating a group of chairs for the guests into the tent.
“Ron, Bill says to get up to the alter, they want to start.” Charlie said running by.
“Ok mate, I’m off.” Ron said to Harry as he headed off. As he turned he bumped into a girl he didn’t know.
“Oh, I’m so…” Ron stopped mid-word, realizing that he did know this girl, very well. It was Hermione, looking even better then she had at the Yule Ball. She was wearing beautiful robes of some material that shimmered like bronze, and brought out her eyes. Her hair was pin straight, and hanging down to her waist. She had done something to her face, so that it glowed softly, and her lips shone as she smiled up at him. Oh my… Ron thought as words escaped him.
“Hello Ron. I was just coming to get Harry. I…is there something wrong?” For Ron was standing there, mouth agape.
“I, uh…no, I was just…you look...uh...and uh, they, uh…I’ve got to be…right…bye.” Ron said as he scampered off to the alter. Whoa, you definitely did well on that one! Ron said smacking himself in the head.
“Finally figured out that you needed that, did you?” Fred said laughing at Ron as he stumbled up the aisle.
“No, he just saw Hermione.” Bill said, nodding his head and winking at Charlie.
“Yes well, what did you say?” Charlie said, straightening the twins’ ties.
“Absolutely nothing! I mumbled and drooled like a troll!” Ron said, looking mortified.
“Not too far for you Ronnikins.” George said.
“Well, Ron, just tell her she looks great next time you see her. And be sure to get a dance.” Bill said.
“What, are you Dr. Love now?” Ron said, looking over at his eldest brother.
“He is the one getting married!” Charlie said, chuckling.
Just then the beginning strains of the music began.
“Here we go!” Bill said, looking scared and excited as the first of the bridal party began to come in.

“Wasn’t that beautiful?” Hermione said to the table at large. The ceremony was over, and dinner was served. She was sitting with Ron, Harry, Fred, George, Ginny, Charlie and Gabrielle at a table in the corner.
“Yes, it was very nice. Not over done, just perfect.” Ginny said, glancing quickly at Harry. Hermione caught the glance, and sighed. She looked up at Ron, but he and the twins were busy trying to convince Charlie to get a bottle of Firewhiskey for everyone to share.
“Come on! It’s a celebration!” Ron said, loading his plate with more chicken.
“I mean really Charlie, no one is going to notice, everyone is so involved with their own…whatever.” George said gesturing to the tent behind them. Hermione looked around. It was true; the guests of the wedding really were involved in their own agendas. People were congratulating Bill, Fleur, and Mr. and Mrs. Weasley; catching up with friends and family that they had not seen for a while, eating and dancing everywhere.
“And I’m sure no one here objects…right?” Fred said, looking around the table. Everyone shook their head, except Gabrielle.
“I do not like zee dreeking.” She said softly.
“Well…uh…” Ron looked around at his brothers for help.
“I can go and seet wit my Mama.” Gabrielle said helpfully, getting up to leave the table.
“Are you sure?” Hermione said, not wanting to make her uncomfortable, and slightly afraid of drinking herself.
“Eet is fine.” Gabrielle said, smiling. She got up pushed in her chair and left.
“Ginny! I’m not so sure about this!” Hermione whispered, as Fred, George and Ron let out a cheer. Charlie had gotten up to go to the bar.
“Its not so bad, ‘Mione. I’ve drunk with my brothers before, its actually pretty funny. You can dare them to do silly stuff, and watch them stumble off to go do it. Come on, live a little, please? You don’t have that long here…” Ginny said, looking over at Harry again. Hermione knew she was worried about them going off to find the horcruxes.
“Ok, alright.” Hermione said. I’ll probably regret this in the morning… Hermione thought as Charlie returned with the bottle.
“Alright, you young folks. I’m giving this to you, and walking away. I don’t want this to bite me in the arse, is that clear?” Charlie said, sounding like Mrs. Weasley.
“Yes MUM!” The twins said, as Charlie walked away.
“OY! I just realized, we have two extra seats, and two extra men…we need girls!” Fred said.
“I’ll go grab a couple!” George said, rubbing his hands together.
“Right. Now you four, pair off.” Fred said.
“Er, what?” Harry said, looking confused.
“Sometimes you are as thick as Ron here! Just sit next to Ginny!” Fred said rolling his eyes and loosening his tie.
“Why?” Ron said, looking worried, and glancing at Hermione.
“We are going to play a little game of Truth or Dare.” Fred replied.
“May I introduce you to Lilly and Lauren. They are Fleur’s cousins from the States.” George said, pulling out chairs for the two girls.
“Right-o. Now we’re ready!” Fred said, uncorking the bottle and pouring glasses all around.
“A good time for Muffalito?” Harry asked Ron.
“Oh yes.” Ron said, looking worried.
“Alright, now who wants to go first?” Fred said, taking the first gulp.
