1. Headgirl; Triumph

Okay, before you read, you need to know; this story will have a bit of a pattern to it. The chapters will be swaping point's of view between the Head Girl and the Head Boy. So don't be confused. If you read about the Head Girl this chapter, next chapter will be Head Boy. Got it? Great! Let's begin, shall we?

Head Girl.

You know, I can't say I'm surprised but it is a pleasant thought.

I am Head Girl.

"What've you got there, Mia?"

"Daddy..." I moaned rather half-heartedly at the use of my childhood nickname. It's not that I didn't like it, quite the contrary. I adored my nickname with all my heart. It was the name my father, and only my father, addressed me by. When he called me Mia, a warm feeling flooded me, letting me know I was loved, no matter how silly the name sounded.

But a girl's got to grow up, and this girl was. The badge in my hand was proof of that!

I raised my arm, palm up, and my father delicately lifted the golden pin so as to examine it.

"What's this?" he asked, running his thumb over the raised H on its surface. He looked curiously at my wide, triumphant grin. "What is this?" he repeated skeptically with his own grin.

"I am Hogwarts' new Head Girl" I said proudly, tasting the words on my tongue.

My father's chin dropped slightly and his eyes lit up. He swooped down on me and lifted me from the seat at my desk. He spun me through the air wildly and I giggled along like a small girl as memories flooded me of the two of us at the park, spinning....spinning...

A small tear rolled down my cheek and splattered on my father's shoulder. He set me down immediately and stepped back, folding his arms across his chest.

"Stop" he commanded, with a small pout.

I couldn't help it. I chuckled. My father never tolerated tears. He said crying was a female thing and if I needed to do it I was to go to my mother.

I swatted away my unshed tears and grinned cheekily up at my father. He smiled, pecked me on the cheek, and, grabbing my hand, pulled me out of my bedroom and down the stairs.

"Jane!" he called as we reached the first floor.

A muffled reply came from two rooms over and we were in the kitchen in a matter of seconds. My father pulled my mother away from the sink where she cleaned up from dinner.

"Sam..." she complained, "What's this about?"

My father merely grinned at me and handed her the badge. She took it while cocking her eyebrow suspiciously at me. She glanced down at the trinket in her palm.

A squeal of delight escaped her lips seconds later and she enveloped me in a hug. I laughed into her hair.

My mother knew more about the magical world then my father so I didn't have to explain the symbol on the face of the badge.

Our celebration was shortly interrupted, however, by a rather clumsy owl that swooped in through our open window and crashed onto the table.

I scooped the owl up gently and perched him on the windowsill, then retrieved the letter.

Upon reading its contents the parchment slipped from my trembling hands and drifted to the floor where it was met by a small puddle of my rapidly falling tears.

Hermione,
Ron and Harry are gone. Mum requests you visit.
Ginny

Yeah, I know my chapters are a bit short. I'm hoping that might change...sometime. For now, I'm just ending it at good points but maybe the 'good points' will beging to grow further and further apart.

Anyway, review would be a sure-fire way to get you more updates sooner. Give it a shot. I garuntee satisfaction or your money back *wink*
