Shadows follow
and are breathed out
through eyes darker than
death seen
dampness of dungeon,
billowing
a living cauldron boiling over spilling
without spillage for the flame
is cold
this soldier has no fire to warm him
until he thinks of hell
courage is more
unseen
than seen
and he is all snark, lank locks
pale flesh
every spell cast
by his touch too subtle
for signature
brave fingers made of pain
born of fantasy
when they dance across
perspiring skin
warm breath tongue tip
cruel lips against the ear
breathe
words
”All pleasure leaves a wound”
in his stride he stings
silver
the serpent on a field of green
living meadows
of sorrow
there is venom
in anything he loves
swallow down
his endles night
for light doesn’t penetrate
the way he does
when he chooses
