Title: Life as I experience it

Summary: The long awaited sequel to Life as I know it…. Harry and Severus embark on a life together as Dominant and submissive but does Harry’s increasing ‘sense of worth’ pose a problem for their relationship?

Warnings: This fic is BDSM! It will contain elements of chan (flash backs) and might contain MPreg (not sure yet). Non-con and dub-con through flash backs.

Very long AN: Yes, this is the long awaited sequel to Life as I know it. I’m sorry it took so long to start writing this but I had no idea what I wanted to do with this fic – I still don’t, to some extend but as least I have two elements I wish to incorporate in the fic thus far.

Those of you who haven’t read “Life as I know it” will find Severus’s behavior way out-of-character, so if you wish to know why he’s acting that way, read the other fic. If however, you can wait for some answers then stick around for the rest of the fic and eventually everything would make sense.

I think I did fairly well writing on a whim while writing “Laiki” and will do so again with the sequel…

There will be SOME spoilers for HBP – Horcruxes and such – but nothing major.

IDEAS are welcome and NEEDED!!!

I’ll admit, I just re-read the whole fic in order to remember everything I wrote!! Couldn’t believe how many things I forgot in the time between ending the first fic and now starting the sequel! ;)

I will try my best to write this fic in such a way that someone who had not read “Life as I know it” would still be able to follow this one without too much trouble. As for those of you with as short a memory as I, I will insert the most important parts of “Laiki” in this fic as ‘flash backs’ or just ‘remembered’ occasions so you don’t have to re-read “Laiki” in order to remember everything! :D

And now, on to the fic!!!

Introduction Chapter

Harry could only look down in awe and wonder at the bundle squirming in his arms. That something so precious, something so alive came from another human being was almost impossible to comprehend.

Strong arms encircled his waist and Harry could feel his Master’s breath on his neck as the man looked down at the bundle in Harry’s arms.

They were standing in the hospital, holding little Shamoné with as much care as possible. Narcissa had given birth to a wonderful, healthy baby girl just a few hours previously and Harry felt very privileged to be there for such a momentous occasion.

Five and a half months had passed since Voldemort’s downfall and it had been the most wonderful time of Harry’s life.

Since Harry had first entered Hogwarts, his life had changed. Drastically. It had all been for the better though and Harry could not be more thankful to his Master for fetching him from his accursed relatives.

Harry knew now that the day the sorting hat had shouted out “Apprenticeship”, his Master had been filled with dread at the prospect of possibly having Harry-Bloody-Potter as his apprentice but knew for certain that his attitude had changed since then.

Master Severus had stood by him every year during Hogwarts and was still a constant support in his life. The N.E.W.Ts would commence in a few months and after that… after that Harry’s life would change even more drastically than before.

For one thing, their relationship would not be kept as such a strict secret anymore and Harry dreaded the ridicule that might come from it.

No matter what happened though, Harry would stay with his Master as long as Severus allowed it. Their relationship had flourished these last few months since Voldemort’s downfall and Harry was astonished to realize that he loved the man more and more every day. He had thought that he cared for his Master, for Severus Snape, as much as was possible for one human being to care for another but as the days passed; he realized that the care and love he felt for the man was increasing on a day to day basis.

A soft touch to his cheek had him looking up and he smiled softly at his Master who was looking down at him with a tender, loving expression.

Draco made some gagging noises and Harry rolled his eyes at him. They had once tried to form a relationship deeper than friendship but as Harry required someone who would take his life into their own hands, to care for and protect, Draco and he had decided that it was not something that could work between them and had settled for being best friends instead.

“Patricia Parkinson has expressed her wishes to buy the potion from you Severus. They also had wishes of enlarging their family but because The Dark Lord had ‘poisoned’ every woman in his service during the time the prophecy came to light, she had found it impossible to carry to term. It was the same for them as with us…”

Narcissa’s voice was soft but with such emotion behind it that it was impossible to miss, or ignore.

Severus’s blood still boiled when he thought of what Voldemort had done to his servants. To prevent every single female in his service to ever conceive a child was almost too much to bear. That he had done so in order to safe his own selfish skin was what made Severus’s blood boil. The prophecy had not specified a specific year in which the child would be born and thus he (Voldemort) had made sure that the child destined to be his downfall would not be the offspring of one of his ‘faithful’ servants.

“I will be sure to make her the potion Narcissa and you can give it to her at your earliest convenience.”

“Thank you Severus, this will mean the world to her.”

Severus just nodded and looked down at where the baby was now waking up. Harry still held the child in his arms and Severus couldn’t help but marvel at how at ease Harry looked with the baby.

Harry looked up at him once again before moving out of his embrace and approaching the bed in order to give the little one to her mother.

Severus could tell that something happened when Harry held the child out to her mother but what it was, he had no idea.

One moment Harry was smiling down at the child and the next a horrified expression crossed his face and he rushed back to Severus’s side.

The other three adults in the room exchanged quick looks but no one could figure out what had spooked Harry so suddenly.

Looking down at his little submissive, Severus could see exhaustion creeping in on his face and he nodded a polite goodbye at Narcissa, shook Draco’s hand and softly kissed little Shamoné’s forehead. Lucius had stayed until the baby had been declared healthy and hale but had to leave for work right after that.

Severus held Harry in a secure embrace as he stated their destination and the floo rushed them away from the hospital.

Harry stepped out of his Master’s embrace as soon as they entered their quarters. He had homework to do but at the moment there was no way on earth he would be able to concentrate on that.

He felt his eyes growing heavy and shook his head in a vain hope of holding off the inevitable.

His Master silently led him to their bedroom and Harry turned around and laid his head on the man’s strong shoulders.

Ever since Voldemort’s downfall they had shared a bed at night. Nothing had happened in the way of sexual situations but that was okay. Harry knew that his Master loved him and he also knew that Severus knew how much Harry cared for him, even loved him.

It was somewhat frustrating for Harry – he was only 18 years old!! – but he knew that his Master wouldn’t do anything until Harry had finished school, maybe not even then.

“What happened in the hospital Harry? One moment you were smiling and the next you looked like instead of holding Shamoné you were holding your cousin, or uncle or something!”

Harry looked up at him with turmoil in his eyes and Severus wished he had kept silent and questioned Harry in the morning, not now when he could clearly see that his little submissive was rattled by something, plus, he (Harry) was exhausted and was only standing because Severus had his arms secured around Harry.

“I don’t know Master. It was probably nothing. I hope it was nothing! When I handed Shamoné over to Mrs Malfoy, I could have sworn her eyes had turned red for a moment! Red like Voldemort’s…”

The last was whispered very softly but Severus heard it nonetheless and he sucked in a sharp breath.

This could not be happening! They had just gotten rid of the monster and now he was once again coming back? As the child of a friend no less!! No, no, this had to be a misunderstanding. Harry himself wasn’t certain if he had not imagined it. Yes, yes, that was it. Nothing was wrong and Voldemort was gone. For good this time!

The fact that both he and Dumbledore had wondered about Voldemort’s ‘downfall’ without eliminating all the horcruxes was pushed to the back of his mind and Severus just tightened his hold on Harry.

“I’m sure everything is fine Harry. If it is not, we will face this together. I won’t leave you alone Harry, not for this, not for anything!”

Harry turned around and embraced him while whispering softly. “Thank you Master. I love you Severus Snape, I love you with as much as I know how to love.”

Severus refused to acknowledge the stinging in his eyes and just brought his lips down to Harry’s in a sweet reassuring kiss.

“I love you Harry James Potter, every part of you.”

End of the Introduction Chapter

I know it was short, way shorter than my usual but as this was only and Intro, I know you will forgive me! ;)

Okay, so from this chapter I hope you will all figure out that Voldemort is coming back some time or another – don’t kill me!!!

I have one other direction I would like to take with this fic which you might be able to ascertain from the summary… :D
