From the Past

A/N:A random drabble I have had floating through my had for a while. It's not meant to go any further than this, but if there is interest, I may consider continuing it. But how would I know if ou liked it? *smiles innocently and points to review button*

"Ehem. Excellent sorting everyone. My compilments to the hat. And now just a few notices before the feast. The forbidden forest is... well, Forbidden. A list of banned items may be found on Mr. Flich's office door, but rest assured that all Weasly's Wizarding Weazes present and future products are on that list. Now, there was one more thing. Hmm..." Dumbledore trailed off, stroking his beard in a classic postulating pose.

BANG!

The doors to the Great Hall slammed open. A figure entered, seemingly swathed from head to toe in black mist. "Ah, yes. May I introduce the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Professor Defonce." The smattering of applause died quickly. The students and staff alike were unable to tell if the new Professor was male or female, except for Dumbledore himself and a strangely pale Snape. The figure made no noise as it passes between the tables on the way to the Headmaster. Icy cold shivers swept through those whom the mist touched in passing. Not a glimps of clothing or skin could be seen. And then the figure stopped.

It spoke with a voice that brought to mind savage hunts under the new moon, and they were the prey. "Dorcha? Is that you?" If possible, Snape became even more pale. He broke out into a cold sweat, trembles starting up his spine. Defonce scared him more than anything in the world. He had not seen her (she was in fact female) since he was twenty-three, which was a long time ago. He nodded slightly at her question. "You are in so much trouble. How could you just walk out like that?"

Snape fowned, looking at her as if she were nuts. "Walk out? Walk out! I didn't walk out, I was fucking kidnapped, Regina! And then you didn't bother..." He trailed off, rather hurt. He kept the emotion well hidden, but he knew she could see it.

"Kidnapped?! I'll kill them." Her voice became deadly soft. "Tell me who did it, and I'll kill them. Nobody touches what's mine." The students all gasped and looked confused. They had been watching and listening avidly. The staff looked on in confusion. Not much was known about Severus between his graduation and acceptance of the Dark Mark.

Severus looked away, a mixture of pain and bashful gratitude in his eyes. "It was the ones who serve the Deserter. Lucius Malfoy is the only name I know." He spoke in an ancient tongue not meant to be heard by the human ear. It was the screams of the damned as consonants, laughter of demons for vowles. It was horrid, and only he and Regina Defonce understood it.

"They will pay little one, I promise it." Her hands went to the hood of her misty cloak, and drew it down to reveal herself. Her hair was long and white as fresh snow, her skin like cream, eyes the colour of Blood Rubies and slitted like a snakes. Her facial structure was human, but she had an eery resemblance to Voldemort. A closer look would have revealed her skin to be competely scaled, like tiny opalecent beads. A line of light orange scales traced down her spine in splotches, as well as the backs of her arms and the sides of her legs. Smiling revealed long, retractable fangs, capable of carrying a poison more deadly than a baslisk's, a double membraned eyelid protecting the children from her leathal gaze. "You and I have alot to talk about, Dorcha. I suggest you run."

Snape paused, unsure. He was familiar with this game, having played it often with her. Where was his cue? There. Her forked tongue flicked out and he was off like a shot, running like mad for the dungeons. Everyone watched him, stunned. Everyone but the Headmaster that is. Regina watched him fly past, and looked up at the smiling old man. "I'll be back for you, Bumblebee." The twinkle paused. And then she too was off like a shot, a moment still and then rapid movement, like only a snake could do.

She finally caught him at the entrance to his rooms, and her arms snaked about him, the cold mist sending mixed signals to his brain. Part of him screamed danger, but another part remembered pleasure. He sighed when her arms tightened and guided them into his rooms.
