Neville's Redeption

A/N~~ ok, i'm not abandoning Rihanna's Son, but i've hit a roadblock with it, i hate writer's block!!! grrrr.....so, this idea came to me. the prologue is going to be fleshed out, I just want some ideas from readers, whether it's worth continuing, cause i actually got quite a bit of it thought out/written out!

Prologue—

The young girl pressed against the stone wall fearfully, the large carpetbag clutched tightly in her sweaty hand, the other hand cradling the bundle against her chest. If she had to, she knew that she’d drop the bag in an instant to save the little life listening to her pounding heart through her threadbare robes. The child was the most important being in her life and was her entire reason for existence.

She wasn’t sure how she’d been able to concentrate on what the House Elf had been telling her when it rushed into the nursery while she was changing little Mala’s nappy. Bodie had a network of House Elf spies all over the Wizarding world, which was how their master knew so much. A spy had informed Bodie that Aurors were ready to storm the master’s manor, taking any evidence they could find against the pureblood family. Bodie had thrust a bag packed to overflowing with Galleons and a few pieces of silver unadorned with the family crest for her to pawn. Her duty was to guard the master’s and mistress’ daughter with her own life.

She threw a few bits of baby clothes and nappies in her backpack, tossed it on under her robe then grabbed the baby. Luckily the child was sleeping quite thoroughly and barely stirred as Bodie led them through the maze of secret tunnels to just beyond the manor property.

Now she waited, knowing that the Aurors were advancing on the manor. She wondered if she should just follow Bodie back into the house and beg the indulgences of the wizards, to save her own and the baby’s life. As she turned back, she heard and felt the heat of the explosion. In horror, she watched as the manor blew apart, throwing the Aurors back away from the building, tossing them like rag dolls all over the property. The House Elves had destroyed their master’s home before letting Aurors overrun the property. Any hint of her or the baby’s existence would be destroyed, she knew.

With no option but to run away now, she left quietly during the pandemonium. She hurried to the Muggle road way and put the bag down by her feet. She pulled out her wand, something she wasn’t allowed to use while at the manor, and raised it over her head. The red triple-decker bus hurtled to a stop in front of her, the door opening slowly.

“’Ello, I’m Aldo Shunpike. This is the Knight Bus. Where might we take you this loverly evenin’?” The tall gangly man smiled down at her, his smile widening as he recognized the familiar bundle of a child against her chest. He had a soft spot for mums now that he was the father of four year old Stan.

“I need to get to the Leaky Cauldron, in London, please.” Her voice sounded so small in the twilight air. She resisted the urge to look behind her where she knew the manor fire was probably being fought by the Aurors in the hopes of saving any evidence against her masters.

She took a deep breath as Aldo took her bag and led her to a bed, transfiguring a table into a crib so she could finally put the baby down for a little while, and rest herself. With no parents of her own, and no one to go to, she had to start a new life with this child, a child not born of her body but was loved just as much as if she was.
