Just a Moment
I watch as the object of my affection looks me in the eye and moves away from the main group and slips into the darkness. I desperately want to follow but know that I should not. Instead, I turn my attention back to the small group of people I do know at this party. The cool night air causes my skin to goose bump and I’m desperately aware that somewhere nearby, I am expected.
I can only fight the curiosity and temptation for so long though. The mind is strong, but the flesh is weak. Slowly, so as not to arouse suspicion, I slip away from the main group and stand near the shadows. It doesn’t take long before a pair of hands are grasping my shoulder and pulling me backwards. I don’t make a noise as I find myself roughly pushed against the bricks of the house. Before I can say anything at all, hot lips are pressed against mine and I close my eyes and sink into the feeling. The familiar smell surrounds me and weakens my already feeble resolve.
“You are so beautiful,” the voice says in the darkness, whispered against my mouth. In the dim light, I see lust in the eyes that are staring at me. I shiver. Not many people call me beautiful. Then the lips are back on mine, urging my own apart and I feel the hot breath raking along my tongue. I groan slightly and reach up my own arms, gently touching the soft fabric covering the skin I so desperately want to touch. I feel hands running along my body, caressing me through my own clothing.
“I want you so much,” the voice says and I moan, the heat in my gut making my whole body ache with desire.
“Draco!” Pansy’s voice rings out from around the side of the house. The lips are gone, the hands, the body and the smell are gone. I feel cold and empty. I turn to watch the woman approach me. She flicks her dark hair over her shoulder when she sees me.
“There you are,” she says with a confused look on her face, “What are you doing around here?”
“Just getting a little fresh air, love,” I say, pushing off the wall and slinging an arm around her shoulders, leading her back towards the party.
She is already there, standing with her two idiot friends, her eyes flick to me briefly and she allows the corners of her mouth to curl up for just a moment before she turns her attention back to them, the ones that she's allowed to love.
