Watch Over Me.

Hello there this songfic is a joint project by two writers on aff.net Try and guess who! :D The song is Watch Over Me by Bernard Fanning he was the frontman of an awesome Aussie Band called Powderfinger and now is a solo artist while his band is on hiatus. I sincerely hope you love this as much as we do!

"They're here."

"Don't leave me Draco."

"I have to fight Hermione."

"I can't lose you." Her arms wrapped around his waist, "Don't leave me." She whispered.

He carefully pried her arms away and turned to face her.

"I love you." He gave her one of his rare smiles and kissed her softly.

"Be careful." She murmured.

"You too." Draco stroked her face, his eyes taking in every inch. As if he were memorising her.

It took ten minutes for Harry to destroy Voldemort.

Two more for the majority of the Death Eaters attempted escape.

At twenty minutes the body count was high with dark and white wizards alike.

It was meant to be over. The light had won.

But for one it would never be over.

She heard the curse before she saw him, the Crucio sending waves of pain through every joint in her body.

Dolohov exacting his years old revenge. He dragged her to her feet, his lips caressing her ear as his vile tongue licked her lobe.

"I knew one day I would get to finish the job Mudblood."

"You can run Granger, but I'll always find you."

"Go to hell MALFOY." She screamed back at him, "I don't want you."

He was on her in seconds, pinning her arms over her head.

"Is that right Granger, don't want me?"

She shook her head furiously as he smashed his lips to hers, his tongue snaking into her mouth. She had moaned and ground against him. Draco pulled back and chuckled.

"Still don't want me Granger?"

"Shut up Malfoy," She responded before pulling his head back down to hers.

"How can you choose that filthy Mudblood over me, Draco?" Pansy yelled, making Draco glad for the silencing charms automatically put into place upon entry.
Draco grabbed her by the collar of her robe and brought her nearly nose-to-nose with himself.
"Hermione is worth ten of you Pansy, at least she doesn’t spread her legs for every man and their dog," Draco spat at her throwing her back to the couch.

"If you know what is good for you, you will drop that pile of filth and learn that blood is thicker then anything. Pure blood that is."

“Draco, leave the mudblood or she shall pay with her life.”
“No Father I love her.”
“Crucio.” The pain ripped through his body, the only thought on his mind. Hermione.

"Hermione, are you out of your mind? He is the enemy, what do you think you are doing?" Harry yelled making every set of eyes in the common room fall on the argument.

"For once in my life Harry i am doing what i want, not what you think is the right thing to do, just because you don't like him doesn't mean that i can't, and if you think it does, you need to grow up and realise your not the be all and end all of my life or everyone else’s."

"I don't know if i ever knew you at all Hermione," Ron said shaking his head sadly.

He had found her in the dark, wand pointing at her temple.

“Let me forget the pain Draco.” She cried brokenly.

“They wouldn’t want you to do this baby. You have to live for them. You have to live for me.”

“Help Me,” She whispered. He cradled her shoulder and tucked his arm under her legs lifting her off the ground.

“I’m here Granger.” They found each other in the darkness of their dorm. Worlds colliding and lines blurring.

He stared into her eyes and smiled. "Granger I love you."

She rested her head on his chest, his arms tightening around her as he watched the Boy who Lived duel with Dolohov.

"I love you too Draco."

She felt him shift and turn her slightly; out the corner of her eye she saw a sea of green. He bent down and kissed her, caressing her soft lips.

"Forgive me." He whispered. Draco's gaze never left hers, his grey eyes piercing through her soul as he grasped her shoulders, and pushed her onto to the ground.

Hermione looked up startled and screamed as she witnessed the green glow surround Draco’s body. He dropped limply to the ground; she crawled to his side ignoring the pleas from Harry to come to him.

They never would understand. He had saved her from despair. Taken her from Harm. Freed her soul.

She picked up her fallen wand and pointed it at her heart. The world stopped as Hermione Granger slumped over the body of her fallen lover.

And in death they would be free.
