Soars

My world was cold, my heart's wings frozen.
I knew no love except for what my body would grant me.
You came along, bounced into my life.
Reminded me of the world I'd long ago left behind.
Innocents lost, my hatred built.
Control gone, I felt alone.
You made innocence return, made me believe.
Gave me back control, no longer alone.
Then you did the impossible.
You replaced my hatred, eased my pain.
Brought warmth back into my heart, not just my bed.
You make me feel special and loved.
With you in my arms, my soul, and my head.
You said you loved me.
I said I loved you too.
Then you smiled.
Ice broke...
wings freed.
My heart flies high and
SOARS.
