Chapter One
"WHAT!?Ginny Weasley screamed upon hearing the important news her parents had been dying to tell her since she arrived at home.
It was Christmas break and Ginny had just arrived home from her sixth year at Hogwarts,egarly awaiting the news her parents had mentioned needing to tell her.
"Now Ginny,calm down."Mrs.Weasley said,patting her daughter on the back gently.
"I'm sorry sweetie,but it's already been set,"Mr.Weasley informed her."you are to marry Draco Malfoy at the end of this year."
"Why?"Ginny cried,tears gathering up in her eyes.
"Because pure blooded witches and wizards are rare.We need to keep the bloodlines flowing."Mr.Weasley told her,keeping his voice calm even though he completely understood her reaction.He had hated Lucius Malfoy and his whole family since they'd gone to school together and wished he didn't have to give his only daughter away to that family.
"But why Malfoy?"Ginny pouted.She had just received the worst news of her life,completely ruining what would probably be the last Christmas that her family would be all together for.
"Well,there aren't many purebloods to choose from,"Mrs.Weasley explained."and Narissa Malfoy suggested it to us."
"But they're Death Eaters!"Ginny shouted,stomping her foot on the ground like a young child.Mr. and Mrs.Weasley exchanged looks.
"No,Lucius Malfoy was a Death Eater,"Mr.Weasley said,talking to Ginny as if she were a small child."Since they performed the kiss on him in the summer,the Malfoys have come over to the lights admitting it was all Lucius' doing and that they were ready to become spies."
Ginny stomped her foot on the ground again,tears falling down her cheeks."I don't wanna' marry Malfoy!"
"Now Ginny,stop throwing a temper tantrum like a little child!You are nearkly seventeen years old and you'd do best to act like it!"Mrs.Weasley scolded her.Ginny stopped.Her mother's temper was lethal.
"But Mum,I don't love Malfoy!"Ginny exclaimed."I want to marry a guy I fall in love with,who sweeps me off my feet.I don't want an arranged marriage."Mr.Weasley sighed.
"Ginny,if you'd had a boyfriend right now who was pureblood,we would have you marry him,"Mr.Weasley told her."but you haven't dated since Harry and time's running out.The new law stated that a witch must be at least engadged by her seventeenth birthday,and yours is in February.I'm sorry,but there is no other way."Ginny sobbed even louder and buried her face in her hands.
"I hate you!Both of you!You've ruined my life!"Ginny shouted through her tears.Mrs.Weasley gave her an you-don't-mean-that look and motioned for Mr.Weasley and herself to leave her be.
"One day,when you're older and have children,you'll thank us for doing this."Mrs.Weasley said as she and her husband left the room,leaving Ginny there crying.
Moments later,Harry walked into the kitchen to find Ginny sobbing uncontrollably.
"Gin,what's wrong?"Harry asked,concerned.Harry was hardly ever around anymore.He quit school to search for Horcruxes,but the Weasleys convinced him to spend Christmas at home.
"Oh,it's horrible,Harry,"Ginny sobbed."my parents,they've-they've..."
"What,what is it?"Harry asked,kneeling down to where Ginny was,huddled up on the floor.
"They've arranged for my marriage to Draco!"She spat it out all at once.It felt disgusting saying it.Like a foul smell had just reached her notrils and she couldn't get the stench away.
"No!"Harry exclaimed,genuinly shocked that the Weasleys would ever be so cruel.
"Yes!They did it!They showed me the papers and everything!At the begining of July I will become Mrs.Draco Weasley-Malfoy."Ginny sobbed and louder.Her parents must hate her.They must.Or else why would they be doing this to her?
"That can't be true,you must've gotten the message mixed up,"Harry said,standing up."I'll go talk to them.I'm sure this is all a misunderstanding."Harry then walked out of the kitchen.
Ginny stopped sobbing.Maybe she wasn't listening to what they were saying.She tended to do that a lot.Harry would fix it all,he never failed to save her from certain death,and this was a big case of it.
