The Day After Forever

Harry awoke not sure of his surroundings. As his vision cleared he could make out the rock walls of what appeared to be a cave and followed his eyes to the only source of light he could find. There sitting in the rising sun was a man with shockingly blonde hair that could only belong to Draco Malfoy. Harry, confused by where he was and who he was with, couldn't help but call out to him.

'Draco?'

'Go back to sleep Harry.'

'Where are we?'

'A cave looking over Hogsmeade. Close to the one your Godfather had hidden in. You need your rest Harry.'

Harry became a little worried that Draco still had not turned around to look at him when all of the sudden the events that happened earlier that night came rushing back to him. Last night the castle had been attacked and the final battle had begun. Lupin and Snape had altered the wards of the castle grounds so that when the outside wards broke new ones entrapping those people trying to get in would flare up. Lupin and Hermione were the only ones to have had contact with Snape since Dumbledore died. The Order still was not sure of Snape's loyalties but after Remus heard the full story from Harry of what happened that night, his support for Snape never wavered.

The wards assured that only those intending to cause no harm to the castle or anyone inside of it could leave the area. The wards were of ancient blood magic and therefore most would have no idea of how to break them, not even the Dark Lord himself. The wards worked as they should have and the battle commenced. Harry could remember shooting off hexes at any black cloak without really seeing who it might be. He had only one goal in mind, find Voldemort and face his destiny.

'Um, Draco, the battle, is it over?'

'Yes, it's done. What do you remember?'

Harry tried to think back. 'I remember fighting my way to Voldemort and remember facing him and I remember trying to hold onto my wand after firing the soul crushing curse Remus and Hermione came up with, it's all foggy and dark after that.'

'The curse worked. Voldemort is dead' Draco said solemnly.

'He's gone?' Harry whispered. Draco nodded.

Harry observed him. Draco was still sitting at the mouth of the cave. For our side winning the last battle, he didn't look very happy. Harry went over to Draco, ignoring his protesting muscles, and put his arm around the other man.

'Draco, what's wrong?'

'Voldemort tried to fight the curse. It took all of your power to hold the curse and stay focused. My father was there. He saw the struggle between you and Voldemort. He then fired upon you.'

'Draco, I'm so sorry. Do you want to tell me more?'

He nodded and went on quietly. 'I saw him attempt to curse you and I sent an accio to a rock and placed it in front of him to take the curse instead. You should have seen the shock on his face. He called me a disgrace and raised his wand at me, I fired first.' Draco shrugged

'Are you ok?' Harry asked.

'I had a choice to make. Love or Family.' Draco answered.

'Thank you for saving me love. I'm sorry about your father but I'll always be here for you.'

'I know Harry but I guess you need to know about our other losses. There was few but some very important people were lost.' Draco took a deep breath and then continued. 'Moody and MacNair dueled to the death. The Weasleys were hit hard. Arthur, Bill, and George were all lost. Hermione was severely injured. I saw Lupin and Snape bringing her to the castle.'

'Oh my God. She has to be ok. It would destroy those two if she isn't. Me too. Draco love, why aren't we at the castle?'

'You were drained Harry. You fell at the same time as Voldemort. You would be too much of a target around other people. I wanted to get you somewhere safe so you could recover a bit. I'm sorry but I didn't trust anyone else with you being so vulnerable. I guess I also needed some time to myself to deal with everything and thought you might as well when you woke.'

'Thank you for thinking ahead like that. I don't want to be near anyone else but you right now. It's a lot to take in right now. Moody said he wanted to go down fighting so I guess that is ok but I can't face Ron and his family yet. It's just too much. I know we all knew the risks going into this but how can you even think of Fred without George?? Bill, he just became a father, what will Fleur do? Draco, how are you doing? I know you said you had put your father behind you when he went to Azkaban but to have to face him in battle...I'm just so sorry.'

'I'm ok Harry. I was just shocked to see him. No one had told me he had escaped. Why didn't the ministry owl me? I just have a bunch of questions going through my mind and am trying to figure it all out. Never ever think I am sorry for what I did Harry. Lucuis was my past. You are my future and I would always pick you over him. I love you.'

'I love you too, I just hate that you had to do what you did. We will find out why you weren't told though. He shouldn't have gotten out. We need to know if anyone else was as well. We need to find out how many survived the battle too.'

"There are no Death Eaters left Harry.'

"How do you know that?'

'Remember when Hermione and Remus found that spell for you? They also found one for Snape. When you defeated Voldemort, Snape did a spell that made him the owner of the mark and destroy anyone else who bares it. They all grabbed their arms and started writhing on the ground until they died. I'm glad you weren't there for it Harry. It was awful, but at least we know they are all gone.'

'We are safe?' Harry asked quietly not quite believing what he had heard.

'I suppose we are. At least where Death Eaters are concerned.' Draco said with his eyes lightening toward Harry.

'Draco, do you remember what we talked about should we both survive this battle? If we felt we were finally safe?' Harry asked and Draco nodded. 'You said you no longer wanted to be known as a Malfoy. Please tell me you still feel the same.'

'I do Harry. I've wanted us to be together in front of everyone for so long. You know some people won't accept us though.'

'I don't care what everyone else thinks. I want you to marry me Draco. We've already done a soul bond but I want this marriage so everyone will knows I am a part of you and you are a part of me. You'll become a Potter and we can face the world together.'

'As soon as the ministry is opened we'll be married but I think we need to make sure a certain maid of honour is alright first.'

'You're right. I can't get married without my best friend.' Harry responded.

'I'm sorry about Ron, Harry. I know you would have wanted him there as well.' Draco said feeling a little guilty over the broken friendship.

'I'm passed that. He couldn't accept that you make me happy. I might have picked him for the first day of school but I pick you for my life. I'll always be open to a friendship with him but only if he can accept you as my husband and the reason I live. If he can't, then I guess he didn't care about me after all. Please look at me love.' Harry tilted Draco's face toward him. 'I finally have a chance to be just Harry and to be happy. You make me happy. I love you. Only you.' Harry finished quietly as he took Draco's lips in a sincere and almost chaste kiss. The passion quickly flared in both men as their lips met again in a hungry battle. Their tongues dueled and Harry pulled Draco impossibly closer. They only parted when they needed some air. Harry placed his forehead against Draco's. 'I love you Coco, I need you.'

'I love you too Ash. Always have.'

As they started to kiss again and both cloaks feel to the floor. Harry started to unbutton Draco's shirt and kissed his way down as each new area was revealed to him. As his lips encircled a nipple Draco let out a long low moan which encouraged Harry as his hand found the other nipple already pebbled and waiting for him. Making sure both sides had plenty of attention he continued his way further down his lovers chest and dipped his tongue into the navel before him, giving a preview of what his intentions were.

Draco grabbed Harry's shirt and pulled it over his head and then worked on Harry's jeans. Harry looked at Draco's eyes and saw the lust, desire and love reflected back at him and undid the buttons on his lover's pants as well. As both pairs hit the ground the couple resumed their kissing while rubbing their bodies and erections together.

Harry lowered Draco down to where their cloaks had fallen earlier. He lowered Draco's boxers and freed the seven inches of straining manhood that was begging for the attention that only Harry could give it. His mouth watered at the beautiful site before him, without warning he engulfed his lover as far as he could.

'Oh shit Ash!' Draco yelled out at his sudden pleasure.

He gently prodded Draco's hole with his finger and quickly added a second one, scissoring them to give as much pleasure as possible. He removed his fingers and slowly started to push himself into Draco. Two legs braced around Harry forcing him to complete their joining. 'I'm sorry Ash but you were driving me crazy.'

Harry laughed, 'It's all good Coco.'

Harry pounded into Draco at a steady beat, building to the release they both sought. Harry changed his angle and reached down and started to pump Draco's shaft. He was hitting Draco's prostate with each stroke.

With sweat pouring off of both their bodies, they cried out each others name in the bliss of their mutual releases. Harry fell on to Draco's chest and was encircled by his arms.

'Gods, I can't believe I almost forgot about that. I bet your Godfather is earning his bat reputation right now. We better get there before Poppy knocks him out.'

'I would sell tickets to that!' Draco exclaimed. 'I bet Pomfrey would win, she's scary that one.'

The boys dressed and went back into the village. 'I have my broom why don't we fly the rest of the way. You know I love to see you fly.' Draco said with a smile. With a quick kiss Harry opened his arms and quickly transformed into a beautiful phoenix. Draco jumped onto his Nimbus and flew after his beautiful Ash.

They touched down on the front steps of Hogwarts and Harry transformed back from his animagus form. 'I'll never get tired of seeing you like that, no wonder you were such a natural flyer.' Draco said with a smile and small shake of his head. They clasped hands and walked into the school together.

'You two boys need to sit down and behave or I will have you both removed!' Madame Pomfrey said most sternly.

'Poppy, I hardly think that Remus or I could be considered as boys.' Severus sneered.

'Severus, I have know you and Remus since you were eleven years old and right now I do not see any difference.'

Slight laughing could be heard in the room, everyone turned to see Hermione finally awake after being brought in from the battle.

'I remember you saying those same words to me Sev in fourth year. I was so angry with you.' Hermione said weakly.

'I don't know what you mean Mya.' He replied.

'I remember that day, did I ever apologize to you?' Draco asked as he and Harry fully entered the room. Harry had stopped them at the door amused by what he had heard and in relief of seeing his friend whole and laughing.

'Of course you have Draco, otherwise I would never have let you shag my best friend.'

Draco gave a smug look back saying 'It's only fair, I let you shag my Godfather.'

'You also shag my pseudo Godfather and got your teeth fixed better than before so I say we all win.' Harry said laughing.

Remus interrupted then, 'If you don't mind our private life is just that, Private. I for one would like to see if Mya is ok.'

Madame Pomfrey came back into the room with three potions in her hands. 'Alright Miss Granger, you need to take these and should be able to leave by the morning, that is, if your friends can let you rest.'

'I'm not going anywhere tonight Poppy.' Severus said with such finality that the mediwitch knew not to press him any further.

'Very well Severus, you and Remus can stay but she needs her rest.' Poppy said with a smile knowing her patient would be well tended and left the room.

'I'm glad you get out tomorrow Mya. You see, you and your two friends here have been invited to a private party tomorrow. That is if you want to see your best friend get married and finally start a life of his own.' Harry said proudly.

'I wouldn't miss it for the world Harry!' She exclaimed. 'I'm so glad for the two of you. Harry, it's finally over. I can hardly believe it. Your wedding will mark a renewal in many lives here. Hopefully one day, you'll be coming to my wedding.'


Remus and Severus both leaned over close to her. 'Soon love, soon.' With a shared smile the straighten themselves up.

The four men sat around the hospital bed for another two hours until Hermione fell asleep. Draco and Harry said their goodbyes with plans to meet in the morning. Once out of the Hospital wing Harry pulled Draco into a tight embrace and whispered into his ear. 'Tomorrow you will be Mr. Draco Potter and we will start our wonderful lives together.'

'I can't wait my love, I can't wait.'
