A/N: This is a story my sister idea my sister actually came up with, but as I am the writer in
the family, it became my responsibility. This is in honor of the twins birthday.
Fred and George Weasley had gathered with their family to celebrate their 25th birthday. Everyone
had enjoyed the dinner that Molly had cooked and were now sitting around listening to some stories
of when the twins were young.
“Oh, I’ll never forget the day the twins were born.” Molly suddenly exclaimed. Arthur thought I
was trying to pull an April Fool’s trick on him.” She said with a slight laugh.
Flashback
Molly Weasley had just woken with a sharp pain in her abdomen. She was nearly nine months
pregnant with a set of twins and it appeared that they had decided that today was to be their birthday.
It was still dark outside which meant that it was rather early. It was going to be nearly impossible to
wake Arthur. She knew she had no choice though. These babies were being rather insistent.
“Arthur, wake up. We need to go to the hospital. The twins are coming.” Molly said shaking her
husband. Arthur gave a small grunt before he started snoring again. “Arthur, wake up!” Molly
was practically screaming now. Her contractions were only ten minutes apart. She knew she didn’t
have much time to wake her husband.
Arthur bolted upright at hearing his wife nearly scream. When he saw no immediate danger he
turned calmly to his wife. “What seems to be the problem, Molly dear?”
“I’ve gone into labor and it’s not going to be long before these twins are born.” Molly said calmly.
Arthur took in his wife’s calm appearance. ‘If she’s in labor shouldn’t she be in a bit more pain?’ he
thought to himself. Then he realized what the date was and gave a small snort.
“Nice try, Molly, I’m not falling for your ticks this year. You made a damn fool out of me last year
with all your pranks, not again.”
“I’m not joking Arthur. The twins are on their way and if we don’t move it now, they are going to
be born in this bed.” Molly replied with gritted teeth.
“Alright, I’m up. Let me get dressed and then we can go. I’ll let Bill know what is going on and
have him keep an eye on the other kids.” Arthur said getting off the bed. He knew that any minute
his wife was going to say ‘April Fools.’
End Flashback
“It wasn’t until we were at the hospital and I was actually in the delivery room that he believed it
wasn’t an April Fool’s prank.” Molly finished with a laugh. Everyone around her was laughing as
well, especially the twins husbands, Lee Jordan-Weasley and Oliver Wood-Weasley.
“Oi, if you like pulling pranks so much, than why did you have a problem with us opening a joke
shop?” Fred finally recovered enough to ask his mother.
Molly blushed slightly before answering. “After having such a hard time with your father the day
you were born, I decided that pranks were probably not such a good thing, at least when it comes to
your family.” Everyone snickered at that.
“I think I actually remember a few of the pranks you pulled on dad.” Bill said. “Some of them
resemble the pranks that the twins are selling at the shop.”
“They should. I left some of my prank guides in their room a few years ago. I thought it might help
them with ideas. That reminds me, I have one last present for the two of you.” With that Molly
pulled a book shaped package out of her apron pocket. It was wrapped in plain brown paper.
“We had always wondered where those sheets came from.” George responded as he caught the gift
his mother had tossed his way. He and Fred eagerly tore the wrapping off to reveal a book, Molly
Weasley’s Guide to the Ultimate Pranks.
“I bound that up especially for the two of you. I’m hoping you can get some use of it since I no
longer use it.”
Fred and George jumped to give Molly a hug. “Thanks a lot mum. At least now we know where
we got our love of pranks from.” No one had noticed that Molly still had her wand in hand when the
twins bent to give her a hug. No one had noticed her point her wand at each one while mouthing an
incantation. As the twins pulled away everyone broke out into laughter again. They now both wore
clown wigs while their faces were painted like a traditional party clown’s would be.
“Happy April Fool’s Day, boys.” Molly said with a laugh.
