Days with You

Days with You
Prologue

-Z-

Draco Malfoy appraised the boy in front of him, holding the beer bottle between his hands.

The other boy had tousled black hair that stuck up crazily on his head, some strands flopping messily around his face. It would have given him a very unsavory look, but somehow, on the other boy, it practically screamed, ‘Yes! I’ve just been shagged and my hair is proof!’ Then there were those eyes, breathtakingly beautiful eyes of the purest emerald, burning with a fierce intelligence and a hard determination born from living a difficult life. Somehow though, the intensity of those eyes was muted to a less unnerving level by the thin, round spectacles that was perched over a long nose. The other boy had red lips, set comfortably, which probably meant that he could smile quite alluringly one moment and then scowl the next. The boy was rather small for his age, but he carried off his slim, slender build perfectly.

The boy was incredibly gorgeous, which was why Draco had chosen him.

Although he didn’t expect the other boy to have sex with him, despite his extra-curricular activities, it was an added bonus that the brunette was very attractive.

But the reason why Draco had chosen him, this Harry Potter, was because he was someone different. Or at least, different from Draco and his acquaintances and god only knew that Draco needed someone different to distract him this summer.

It had all started when Draco came home to Malfoy Manor that summer, before he would go away to college. Upon reaching home, he found a brief letter from his parents telling him that they would be away for all of his vacation, but not divulging their whereabouts. Draco had expected as much.

Usually, Draco liked being alone in the Manor, giving him complete freedom to do as he chose. However, much to the blonde’s dismay, he found that as the days went by, he got lonelier and lonelier, a novel feeling he didn’t like at all.

The blonde was so desperate for some company that he had seriously contemplated calling his ‘friends’ or more accurately, his sycophants, and asking them to join him for a month or two before realizing that he would probably be even more miserable in their shallow, vapid and cold company.

No. What Draco needed was to have some fun. Some unconventional fun. Some fun with someone new and real, and not with those flatters who only stuck to him because of his name and money.

So, starting last week, Draco had frequented the city, something he normally avoided to do. He had searched for something to do, or someone he could probably strike an agreement with. Draco was willing to pay anyone who could entertain him for a period of time. Preferably a person who could make him laugh and amuse him.

It was about two days after he went searching did he found the most interesting candidate.

As he cruised down the clubbing area of the city, he noticed a particularly beautiful black-haired boy, slim, lithe and petite, talking to a much taller, pretty man. Then, the boy had flashed a blinding smile before dragging the man into a nearby motel.

Prostitute, Draco had thought immediately and went away, disgusted. But he found himself coming back the next night, intrigued despite himself with the beautiful face and flashing green eyes. During his third time back, he had finally decided to get information about the boy. He approached one of the men on his corner and after an annoyingly long period of time of Draco making it clear that he was not, not a customer looking for a quick fuck, he’d asked his questions.

Well, it certainly was interesting.

According to the man, whose name was Seamus something, the black-haired boy’s name was Harry Potter, turning eighteen this year. Not much was known about the boy, except that he wasn’t a prostitute. Draco had argued about that, stating that he saw Harry being approached by men and disappearing into motels. Seamus then explained that although, yes, Harry went into the motels with strange men, but it was for entirely different reasons than the ones in Draco’s head.

The blonde was so curious that he couldn’t help returning for the fourth time. That was tonight, and he’d asked Harry if he wanted a drink.

If what Seamus said was true, and Harry wasn’t really whoring himself, then he might be the one to bring some fun into Draco’s summer. The blonde was helplessly intrigued by Harry Potter and he found himself almost desperate to know what the black-haired boy did in those motel rooms with the other men. It was near disgusting the way Draco wanted to know the other boy completely, despite Harry’s dubious life.

A smirk curled Draco’s lips as he remembered how Harry had first thought Draco was a prostitute, proposition for a ten-minute shag. The way Harry’s eyes had flashed in irritation left the blonde rather breathless because, god, those eyes were incredible.

“Let me get this straight,” Harry said in a thoughtful voice tinged with disbelief. “You’re going to pay me a big amount of money for me to stay in your Manor for an entire month, which during that time, I will spend every day doing something different to entertain you so that you won’t lose your fucking mind with boredom and loneliness?”

Whatever Harry was, he was educated, the blonde mused as he nodded his agreement, taking a sip of beer. He speaks well for someone who has his own corner. The Seamus bloke told me Harry isn’t a prostitute. Hmm.

“Yes, that pretty much sums it up.”

Harry’s look of incredulity increased. “I think you’ve already lost your fucking mind, mate. And for the record, I don’t sell myself,” the bespectacled boy said bluntly, placing his bottle on the table.

Draco lifted an eyebrow. So really, what does he do with those men? God, I love a good mystery. “Look, Harry, this is not some perverted way to get you to have sex with me. It’s perfectly fine if you keep your entertainment to normal levels. Besides, I’m offering you money and all you’ve got to do is amuse me for a month. That won’t be too hard. If I’m correct, and I usually am, I think that you’re a highly entertaining person.”

This time, it was Harry’s turn to raise an eyebrow at Draco’s confident words. “You really expect me to be your…your…clown for an entire sodding month?!”

“No,” Draco corrected coolly. “I expect you to make my summers fun. In a way, my life will be entirely in your hands for a month. Besides, I’m risking a lot by this. You could turn out to be one of those psychopathic murders with innocent faces, just waiting for their next victim.”

Harry let out a reluctant chuckle and Draco found that he liked the sound of it. Rich and low.

“Surely you don’t have anywhere else to go this summer,” Draco said persuasively, deliberately lowering his voice to a coaxing purr which he knew always worked. “Malfoy Manor is a beautiful place but if you’re alone in it, it can be intensely lonely. What do you say, Harry?”

The black-haired boy smirked. “Do you expect me to fall for that voice? Try again, Malfoy.”

The blonde was surprised. His voice didn’t work. But he quickly regained his composure and gave Harry an admiring look. “You’re the first one that has ever denied me something when I used that voice.”

Harry snorted. “Apparently, I’m the only smart person you know.”

Draco returned the smile, amused. “See, you’re already entertaining me. I haven’t had this much fun in weeks.”

For a moment, Harry sat there undecided. He obviously looked torn.

Finally, though, “And you’ll really pay me, right?”

He must need it badly, then. I wonder why. Must add this to the solve pile. “Yes, at the end of the month. But should you ever fail to meet my expectations, then I’ll kick you out of the Manor without pay, understood?” Draco warned, narrowing his eyes.

“You’re right that I’ve got nowhere to go this summer and my relatives won’t miss me,” Draco didn’t miss the darkening in the other’s eyes at the mention of them. Relatives? What about his parents?
But Harry was now rolling his vividly green eyes. “Okay, but geez, you’re a strange one, Malfoy. And God, I’m even stranger because I’m agreeing to this crazy deal. Fine, fine! I’ll do it.”

Draco grinned, deeply pleased. He stuck out his hand for a handshake to close their deal and after a few seconds of hesitation, Harry clasped it in his slightly rougher one and they shook on it.

“So, Malfoy – ”

“Draco,” the blonde corrected.

Harry rolled his eyes again. “So, Draco, do you want to collect your clown tonight or tomorrow?”

The blonde smirked. His clown. That was actually funny. “Tomorrow. Meet me at the park at 8 o’clock sharp, all right?”

“Fine, fine. I really can’t believe I’ve just agreed to this. What have I gotten myself into?” Somehow, Draco knew that Harry was speaking to himself and refrained from replying.

He just sat there, finishing his beer and smirking.

I’ll figure you out yet, Harry Potter, just you wait. I’ll find out why you got to motels with strangers. Why you need money rather badly, if I’m correct. Why you mention your relatives and not your parents. And why you seem ambivalent towards them.

Bottom line is I’ll figure you out completely by the time our month is over.

Somehow, the summer was perking up all ready.

So, what do you think? Don’t worry; they’ll be shagging a week or two into their time together. Any guesses about Harry and the motels and odd men yet??? I only hope it isn’t too predictable.
