Katie Bell had just taken off her Quidditch uniform and wrapped a towel around her athletic body when she heard the door to the locker room open. She assumed one of the other girls on the team had forgotten something so Katie paid no attention as she grabbed her strawberry shampoo and headed towards the showers.

The Harpies had just won the last game of the season, giving them a perfect record of 12-0. The rest of the team had decided after the game to go out and celebrate, but Katie had declined, wanting to be alone and wallow in her misery.

Katie dropped her towel on the floor just outside the showers and stepped in, turning the hot water on full blast. She held her head into the spray, allowing the hot water to run over her face.

When Katie turned her back to the spray to ease the tension in her shoulders, she realized she was being watched.

“Get out of here, Flint,” she said in a flat voice.

“I need to talk to you, Bell.”

Katie turned her back on him and responded, “I have nothing to say to you. I think we said it all a few weeks ago.”

For a moment Katie thought Marcus had gotten the hint and left the showers, but she realized how wrong she was when she felt his naked body slide up behind her, Marcus’ large hands going around her body to cup her breasts.

Katie tried not to respond to him, but when he started rolling her hard nipples between his finger and his thumb, she couldn’t help the gasp that escaped her lips. She wanted to resist him – she had managed to ignore the heated stares he sent her way during practices, the way his eyes would roam up and down her body as if undressing her.

“You’re…you’re supposed to be out celebrating,” Katie managed to gasp as Marcus’ hands continued to roam over her body.

“I couldn’t go out and celebrate knowing how things have been between us lately,” Marcus’ deep voice rumbled in her ear. “I’m sorry, Katie.”

Katie forced herself to push away from Marcus so she could turn around and face him as the water continued to stream over their bodies. She needed to look in his eyes. “I can’t keep doing this, Marcus. You made your choice, and when you made your choice, I made mine. You have to stay away from me.”

“That’s just it, Princess. I never made my choice. You ran out of my flat before I finished.” Marcus chuckled at the shocked look on Katie’s face and quickly continued. “It’s not every day that a woman asks a man to marry her.”

“Don’t start on that ‘men should be the decision-maker’ kick with me, Flint.”

“Wouldn’t dare,” Marcus smirked as he moved his hand up to cup Katie’s cheek, his thumb idly rubbing circles on her skin. “It was just a shock. What we have is special. I’ve come to realize that ten-fold this past month. My bed has been so cold; my arms have been so empty. You’re like an addiction, Princess. An addiction that brings me to my knees when I’m forced to quit cold turkey. I can’t live without you, Katie.”

Katie tried to hold her tears back from spilling down her cheeks as she listened to the manliest of men speak from his heart. “What are you saying, Marcus?”

“What I’m trying to say is if the offer is still open, I would be honored to become your husband,” Marcus revealed, smiling down at her lovingly.

Katie couldn’t find the words to express what she wanted to say to the man she loved more than life itself. Instead, she reached up and looped her arms around his neck, pulling his head down to hers as she answered him with a passionate kiss, excited that she now had a wedding to plan in the off-season.
