The train rumbled into the Hogwarts station with its New Year load of students. Harry say with Hermione and Ron as usual, Hermione’s feline companion lounging on her lap being stroked lightly. Ron was not so lucky; his owl pidwidgon would not settle down.
As the train finally stopped they stood to get out the door before the students had crammed themselves into the passage. Much to Ron’s expressed distaste, with a rather nasty word, Malfoy too was in the hall, Crab and goyale who had moved last year, were missing leaving the platinum haired teen all alone in his dark foreboding robes. Draco paid them no attention he merely turned and exited the train.
“You think he’s gone mute?” Ron said hopefully, His read hair framing a sly smile.
“With our luck,” Harry said with an equal smile. “Not a chance.” Harry rubbed his temples as they began to walk, from the train and across the ground. “Hay, you guys?”
“Yes, what is it Harry?” Hermione asked to his left.
“Would you guys mind if I rode alone up to the school, pigwidgon gave me a headache.” Harry and the others stopped about midway up the carriages Harry still rubbing his temples.
“Of coarse Harry. That feather duster has my head pounding to.” Ron said shaking his head lightly with a grimace.
“Yes and these carriages always seem to have a bad effect on you.” Hermione opened the closet door. With quick thanks Harry headed towards the end of the line. Only when the door closed on a carriage behind him did Harry dare to loop around a carriage and head back to the head of the line. It was now that Harry was glad these carriages had no windows and doors on both sides. Reaching the head of the procession he hopped inside. There was straw on the floor and the air was stuffy and there was no light within but Harry found is seat and smiled in the dark.
“It’s been quite some time,” Draco’s voice drawled from the shadows
“Yes Draco it has, it’s too bad we can’t talk over the summer.” Harry replied quietly. All went silent for a moment. “I missed you.” His voice was sincere and quiet as the vehicle lurched into life.
“I’ve missed you too.” There was a rustle of fabric and warmth as Draco settled next to Harry and set into his space. Harry placed a hand on the bonus lap. “You never chance.” Draco baited.
That is what I am famous for.” Harry countered, as a pair they barley changed, even in their two years of being together and yet competing at the same time.
“Pre madana.” Draco put a hand on Harry’s lap as his lover draped a midnight hair covered head upon his shoulder.
“Queen.”
“Fairy.”
“Ass fucker.”
“Mabey I am.” Draco said thoughtfully his hand traveling suggestively over Harry’s leg. “But only if someone says the magic word.” He added pulling his hand away. “Or maybe I’m the fuckie. You’re the grand Harry potter, why don’t you tell me?”
“But common people like you are so below my notice.” Harry said coolly. Harry was quite proud of the arrogance in his voice.
“I should out you for that potter.” Draco sneered.
“I will take you down with me.” Harry said threateningly.
“You don’t have the balls, princess.” The carriage went silent with Draco’s comment.
Harry merely sat there breathing deeply of Draco’s scent. A special kind of hair gel and a perfume of an exotic plant. There was something else, something natural, and something that could only be Draco, like some sort of spice. He nearly nodded off, the smell something comfortable that cradled his scenes.
“Don’t even think about falling asleep scar boy.” Draco said scooting away. “We are about to arrive.” He said coolly. Harry stood up with a sigh moving to the far side door from which he had entered he opened it a crack to watch as they passed the gates, carriage still bobbing. Prepared he pulled out his invisibility cloak and wrapped it around him vanishing.
“You know I really do love you malfoy.” Harry whispered as the vehicle shuttered to a halt.
“I know.” Draco said lightly. “Me too.” The last two words so soft Harry had to strain to hear, but it brought a smile to his face, even if it was hidden beneath the invisibility cloak. With that Draco promptly flung open the door to the carriage and exited bumping into a rather confused 3rd year from ravenclaw, named jade. “What in the hell do you think your doing?” Draco asked indignantly.
“I’m sorry.” The girl muttered, she was shy one. Draco sidestepped towering above the girl by 4 inches at least.
“People like you should not ever dare touch me, much less knock into me.”
“I said I was sorry.” She mumbled.
“Do you even know who I am?” Draco asked ruefully. With the distraction Harry exited the carriage and headed back down the line as the girl shook her head. “I am Draco malfoy. A rich pureblood from a prominent family and you are what, a little mud blood from some dirt poor family of no importance that has to work with muggles to make ends meet.” At that the girl burst into tears as Ron came bustling up.
“Malfoy what in the bloody hell!” He raised his wand against the platinum haired boy. Hermione went to console the girl who had nearly collapsed in tears.
“Not that it’s any of your business weasel, but if someone is going to be disrespectful to a head boy, they had better expect reprimand. You should take this as a warning.” Draco said swathed in authority. Jade took the chance to get up and race towards the school to be out of harms way.
“So you’re reduced to putting others down to make yourself feel strong, putting down a girl who doesn’t want a fight, that’s really low malfoy even for you.” Harry came up behind his friends with a raised eyebrow and a strange smirk he always seemed to wear when he fought with Draco.
“What would you know potter, gallivanting around the media like some lit little attention whore.” Draco said his white teeth glinting. “I bet you get off on all of it, all those people praising your name because you got a scrape on your forehead.”
“Where in the hell do you get off malfoy!” Hermione Shouted sensing malfoy was about to cross a dangerous line.
“In potions class obviously.” Ron chided. The look on Draco’s face was one of total loss for words, instead of sating Ron it only egged him on. “That hook nosed git get your trousers a bit tight.” Despite the comments effects on Harry and the implications to his secret relationship, he had to smile.
“You wouldn’t be referring to me now would you Mr. Weasly?” An all too smooth voice sent a wash of chill down their spines. They all turned weakly not wanting to see what they knew sat there. Snape standing menacingly affirming their fears.
“Professor he meant no disrespect.” Hermione jumped in. Snape silenced her with a look.
“Insulting me, a head boy, not to mention my god son, even though the year hasn’t even started and you’re already started causing trouble.” He sneered down at the students, which he still stood at least 7 inches above. “You are lucky your house has no points as of yet. Now get inside.” Quick but grudging to obey, the Gryffindors disappeared inside. Malfoy smiled smug as ever. “You should hurry along Mr. Malfoy you would not want to be late for dinner.” And with that Snape left Draco, proud prince of slytherin, entered the school with his platinum head held high.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~o0o~*~*~*~*~*~*
The sorting had finished slytherin receiving only 4 new people. While hufflepuff got 14 new faces raven claw sporting 19 new faces and Gryffindor welcomed 22 new people. Draco could have careless. But now the announcements were being made as Dumbledore stood up.
“Welcome to another wonderful year at Hogwarts,” Dumbledore used his magically magnified voice to be heard all over the great hall. “I have some bad news and some good news. The bad news, we have yet to find a new defense against dark arts teacher, but there is no need for alarm for the good news is professor Snape is going to be your substitute. And in addition to that it seems Fred and George weasly have opened a small shop in hogsmead, which will be able to be visited. I have just tried one of their delicious toffees, and it seems these make you grow excessive ear hair.” The truth was spoken as everyone spotted him swallow one tendrils of hair snaking from his ears, “well it seems that I can no longer hear, so without any farther wait let the feast begin.” And with that food blossomed to life on the tables, giving birth to conversation.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~o0o~*~*~*~*~*~*
It was two weeks into the New Year and Harry was exhausted. He had potions and defense against the dark arts back to back and Snape was enjoying himself way to much. Finally it was dinner, and a rumor saying that there would be a big announcement. The great hall filled up quickly with excited chattering students. The students quieted under a replica of a quarter moon clear starry sky, as Dumbledore rang against a glass.
“There is to be a surprise tonight, so naturally all of you seem to have an idea about it at least.” Dumbledore’s eyes twinkled merrily behind his glasses. “We have a new student her name is Celestal Ohuri. She is in 6th year and slytherin house. She comes from a special shrine in Japan. Celestal please come in.” he said gesturing towards the doors. The doors of the hall opened and there stood the new girl. She was a bit above average height with skin glowing and a healthy pail color of the moon. Her hair had been down to her calves pitch as black, the tips platinum silver three inches from the bottom. The closest to here could see the steel grey eye, narrow, but not in an oriental way, more of a searching way. She glanced around the hall and bowed low quickly then stood again. She began to walk with strong fast strides, she whistled without turning her head or changing expression, and to everyone’s surprise, a small fluffy wolf pitch as black raced up and sat on her shoulder. It looker around with a growl looking menacing but other wise sat docile on her shoulder. Her cloak snapped in the wake of her quick purposeful steps. Something long was at her hip and shining, as well as something small protruding from her hair. She took a seat across from a platinum haired boy named Draco malfoy. He looked at her quite disgustedly.
“Hay, ohuri was it, why don’t you go sit with the other new kids. The audacity, do you believe this guys, sitting with the prince of slytherin without permission.” The slytherins around him snickered and giggled. “Just who do you think…?” He faltered involuntarily as her constantly glaring eyes landed on him as she removed the long object from her hip. “What is that?” He asked suspiciously.
“My sword.” She said solidly laying it across her lap.
“Well then,” Dumbledore said loudly. “Welcome on behalf of the staff and students. Now let us not keep ourselves waiting. Tuck in.” With that he sat down and food erupted on the tables with a roar of a thousand conversations.
“Can you believe she brought a sword into the great hall?” Pansy said with a squeal of laughter that faded quickly into a chocked little gasp as Celestal looked at her.
“Would you like to ask me a question?” Celestal said coolly pulling some roast toward her. “When pansy shook her head viciously she continued. “ Very well then.” She took a bite of her food when Snape came sweeping up like an ominous shadow.
“Celestal.” He said and the slytherin’s fork clanged to the plate. He seemed unable to continue when she turned to face him. Her breath quickened and her glaring eyes widened in panic, mimicking his face as all color drained from them both. “You.” He said quietly.
“I must… be going. “Celestal hastened to say after swallowing a scream. Grabbing her sword she hurried as fast out of the hall as she could without actually running. Not only had the slytherins watched but the entire hall, teachers and all. Dumbledore with an interested look. Snape looked down and realized the bit of parchment he had been holding, which had been the new girl’s schedule, had been crushed by his shocked grip. He looked angry and shocked as he too swept out of the hall.
“What do you suppose that was all about?” Ron said just barely swallowing a mouthful of food.
“I don’t know it just seems like we have another slytherin on our hands.” Hermione said a bit testily
“You have to admit though herms her hair is a bit strange.” He said his mouth once more full of food spraying crumbs across the table
“Who cares about her hair Ron?” Hermione snapped now flipping compulsively through Hogwarts a history. “She brought a wolf! A wild animal! Not to mention that sword!” Ron decided not to give her an outlet for her anger and resolved himself to going back to his food.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
The slytherin’s returned to their common room shortly after dinner. Celestal sat in a comfy chair next to the fire, gazing intently at he flames as if she expected them to jump from the hearth. The fist years basically gawked while some of the seventh years simply ignored her, even though the obviously avoided her. Draco however made his way directly to her. “You are in my seat girl.” Draco said coldly. Her cold gaze fell upon him once more, he didn’t flinch this time.
“You are lucius’ son aren’t you?” Celestal asked quietly. Her sword once more perched upon her lap. There was a low growl and her black wolf jumped up into her lap.
“And how would someone like you know my father.” Draco said with a sneer as Celestal scratched her wolf’s ears affectionately.
“We have met a few times.” She said off handedly. “I hear you’re the captain of the quidditch team. I would like to try out if you don’t much mind.” She said with a smile near one of Draco’s famous sneers.
“I don’t just let anyone on my quidditch team.” Draco replied. The wolf in Celestal’s lap gave a low long howl that caused Draco to start.
“I think you will find I am not just anyone.” But for the moment I feel just a bit tired, good night.” She turned to the girls dormitories and headed off. As Draco watched however, she doubled back to the entrance. Quickly he followed, being sure to cast a silencio on himself as well as a sound bubble and a disillusionment charm to hide him from view.
She moved up the stairs swiftly her wolf padding along behind her. She was precise in her movements, first making her way up to the transfiguration wing, then the astronomy tower, and through many obscure paths until she reached the entrance hall where she met peeves who was writing obscenities on the walls with color changing ink.
“Well if it isn’t ickle cel.” He cackled. She did not speak or look at him merely stood silently looking around. “What’s this, the little cel can’t speak, or dose that mean Snapey have your tongue.” He cackled, but when she looked up he stopped, something he only did for the bloody baron.
“I don not wish to be at odd ends with you peeves, in fact from what I have heard you’re my kind of ghost. So I heard filtch just confiscated an entire crate of dung bombs, why don’t you go play with those.” At the suggestion peeves cackled and zoomed away through a wall.
Celestal, apparently happy that her route had lost any who might have been following her, made her way out of the front doors. Draco, quite intrigued, followed. Someone who defied him, and commanded peeves attention and respect. Draco knew she was worthy of slytherin already, and yet she defied him, and he wanted to know more about her and what she was up to so late. Knowing more may give him clues to who she actually thought she was. Looking around again, as if afraid someone may creep up upon her, she made her way across the grounds and into the forbidden forest. Without hesitation she went strait through the trees. Draco followed without thinking about it nearly loosing her in the dense foliage. Quick enough however he came to the edge of a mall clearing surrounded by a row of shrubs and trees, but the lake was clearly visible.
Celestal knelt upon the grass and laid her sword in the grass before her. Reaching back, she pulled out, from behind her ear, what looked like a long thin stick. Suddenly though with no spell what so ever, it grew in size until it was about ¾ her body size half as thick as her wrist revealing itself as a long staff, clearly a weapon
“You summoned me.” She asked laying it next to the sword. They didn’t’ answer nor move to do so. “No one followed so get on with it. It will look suspicious if I am gone for to long.” There was a light chuckle that filled the air.
“Celestal, you should relax once in a while. Always tactical, always thinking.” Said a velvety male voice, it was comforting and strong, yet soft and cheerful with an undertone that warned not to get on his bad side.
“It’s what has kept me alive.” She said with a slight smile as the staff rose into the air glowing a deep red. “You should know that black phoenix. Can...I please see you?” she asked quietly. More than happy to oblige, a black phoenix erupted from the staff with a blood red eye that gleamed like a ruby. Draco could see its perfect profile.
“Better.” It said with a smile on its beak.
“That’s not what I meant and you know it. I want to see a familiar face.” She said gruffly. The phoenix faded and in its place came a man. His calf length black hair was now pulled back into a tight ponytail at the base of his neck. His lithe and muscular frame draped in some loose wizard robes stamped with little phoenixes.
“How’s this then?” He asked knowing that Celestal would never admit he had done what she wanted. He lifted a foot and prodded the sword causing it to flip. “Get up man we don’t have all night.”
“So you have changed your clothing style, and your hair is tied at the neck, impressive.” She said lightly. The man bowed with a flourish of his hands. “Lord?” she said in a calling voice to the sword. “I know your in there damned it.” She said quickly growing a bit testy.
“I think he wants you to do it in the traditional way.” The man said with a smirk. Celestal growled b7ut bowed to the sword until her nose brushed the ground ignoring the amused chuckling of black phoenix.
“Won’t you arise my lord? You have summoned and I have answered your call without hesitation.” Tempted beyond all believe to chuckle with black phoenix Draco bit his tongue and stayed silent as Celestal spoke and bowed.
Her call was answered as the sword pulsed, a man formed from beads of light crouching on the balls of his feet. His backside nearly touching the ground his elbows on his knees his forearms hanging loosely down in the center. His back was strait and his head was held proudly high. He had pointed ears, nails, and teeth, long white-silver hair that rested its tips on the ground, his mouth fixed in a light smirk. Celestal growled again at him frustrated receiving only a sly and sarcastic smirk to grow again in return.
“Now was that so hard, showing a little respect to your lord?” He said in mock offence as if that would make her feel better trying to sound all together serious. Celestal’s jaw clenched tight, but not in anger, in complete and total humiliation, which had been instilled within her mind long ago. “You left your necklace back in the shrine cel.” He said in his comforting and stern voice with lilts of sarcasm.
“ oh no I didn’t….” Celestal’s hands flew up to the neck of her robes, without grasping what she searched for immediately she looked down and patted herself worriedly trying to find it. A light chuckling drew her attention; her head darted up to see her lord dangling something. On a long silver chain sat a silver pentagram, crawling with intricate designs Draco couldn’t make out. A scarlet jewel gleamed there threads of darkness slithering in it and on the tip of the top spire of the star was a black jewel with tendrils of scarlet within it. It was obviously very old and very valuable.
: Getting a bit absent minded are we?” Said the silver haired man as he held it out. Celestal reached out and took it immediately looping it around her neck.
“Thank you Inutsuru.” She said tucking it into her robes. She looked back at them and began to rise.
“Hold it. You know damned well that isn’t all we called you here for.” Celestal swore under her breath as black phoenix pushed on her shoulder till she was kneeling again. Inutsuru stood giving Draco a better look at his clothes. His shirt was Japanese as were his pants, both beautiful crimson. His pants tied at the ankles giving them a puffed up look. Now his amber eyes were hard as jells.
“We sensed it back there don’t think we didn’t. In the great hall when that man approached you is the closest you have been to fear since you were a child.” Inutsuru said sounding both angry and concerned as he demanded an answer.
“Who was he to warrant such a reaction?” Asked black phoenix his voice adapting to the tone of his companion. Celestal said nothing and looked away becoming overly interested in her left knee.
“Answer us!” They both demanded loudly. Celestal’s head turned to face the feet of the men before her as she accented.
“You man have been there, you may not have been, but his name is Severus.”
~'''''Flashback~'''''
The mountains framed a watery black sky as the sun readied itself to rise in the murky twifhtlight. A small shadowed figure raced down a rocky mountain path dodging boulders and holes, the black of her hair blended perfectly into the murky darkness, with only a flash of silver to give her away. The night to her ears was silent except for the urgent padding of her feet, the silence shattered all too quickly with a long urgent howl that sliced through the darkness like a knife.
“They know! But how?” The 7-year old Celestal cried head swiveling to look in the direction she had com, slamming into something. She looked up at the shadowy form, his nose hooked and his black hair greasy. Obsidian eyes burning into her more than flame itself. Without hesitation she turned and bolted.
“You don’t think it will be that easy do you!” Severus called after her. “IMOBULUS!” He shouted the incantation just as she dove behind a boulder. The spell barely brushing passed her ankles causing both of her legs to go absolutely numb. Unable to rise she used her elbows to drag her kimono clad body over the ground. “Trying to get away still.” Severus was about five feet behind her, and she turned herself over onto her back to face him.
“Please, please don’t take me back there. Please.” Celestal pleaded tears welling up in her eyes her voice rising as she did so. “I’m begging you, I will do anything you ask just please don’t take me back. Say you found me dead, say you couldn’t find me just doesn’t take me back.”
: You sure haven’t learned much in your 3 years here have you?” Severus said walking over to her. “The others are off to gather your little friend right now.” He said scooping celestal into his arms like a newborn. Celestal hugged herself and began to cry, dryly and quiet constantly speaking two words.
“Never again. Never again.” The words where repeated until they reached the shrine where all things seemed to freeze.
~''/End of Flashback'''
“It was because of that idiot that he died. It was his fault that I had to kill him.” Celestal finished quietly her eyes smoldering slits of anger and something unknowable. Draco shivered involuntarily at the thought of that emotion turned on him. “There I have said it, am I free to leave?” The beings merely stared at her. Black phoenix reached a hand forward to brush her cheek. Celestal turned her head away. Quickly the look went back to her normal cold glare. With a look at each other the beings were gone. A loud yip cracked in the air as the weapons rested themselves back to their respected positions on celestal, staff shrinking again. The little wolf appeared from nowhere yipping excitedly and leaping onto celestals shoulder and licked her face. “Ebony lets go.”
Celestal rose moving away from Draco passing him by mere feet. As she returned to the school he followed, quiet and thoughtful.
~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~
Draco awoke in the morning in his privet room. His hair ruffled and beautiful having grown nearly shoulder length over the summer. The morning light filtering through the window and its silver and emerald curtains. Even as Draco dressed himself and readied himself for the day ahead his thoughts wondered to the day before. He shook it from his head quickly.
After considering and rejecting the ideas of either wearing his hair down or in a pony tail Draco slicked back his hair straitened his robes and marched proudly out his door to breakfast with a sneer on his lips and his head held high.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Celestal wasn’t at breakfast drawing more attention then if someone else had decided to not show up. Draco kept himself from wondering concentrating on his food and his next class.
Draco stood outside Hagrid’s hut arms crossed stance relaxed waiting for the large oaf to appear. And appear he did, cradling something in his massive arms.
Draco craned his neck to see, though he did so much more discreetly then the others, and not enough to get caught doing so. Against a dark brown shit a color of brilliant red stood out. The color instantly drawing Draco’s attention like a beacon and capturing it with a vice like grip.
“ Gather roun’ Gather roun’” Hagrid called waving all the students toward him with his one free hand. He opened his arms to reveal a cutely menacing creature around head ending with a small muzzle made up the head. Webbings stuck out of the sides of its head slanting back. The ribbing red but the webbing black. Out of its muzzle popped 4 tiny but sharp teeth, two on each side and a tiny black nose. “Its eyes large and ruby, pulling Draco’s eyes to a row of spikes down its spine obscured by feathery fur all the way to its tail. Basically it was a tiny dragon with feathery spine and large deep eyes.
“Isn’t that a Dragon?” one of the ravenclaws asked.
“I believe that’s a Dragoon.” Draco corrected stiffly.
“Tha’s righ’. Ten points to Slytherin.” Hagrid said letting the animal to wobble around the ground, his cute wings folded back against himself. “Its jus’ a baby. Got a whole pen back there.” At the mention of that the students rushed back to the pen quickly, leaving Draco alone with the little dragoon. He picked it up and nuzzled its chin with his finger.
“Now you just beautiful.” Draco cooed to the thing. The dragoon blew a puff of smoke, which smelt of pleasant hickory, into Draco’s face and did a little reptilian giggle. Draco chuckled as well enjoying the small things company.
~'''''''''
Last of the day was potions; Celestal was present tucked into a desk by herself. Draco sat near her, the des on her right to be specific. Professor Snape was there too, writing the ingredients on the board he sat down when he finished. The tension was so evident you could feel it in your shoulders.
At the end of class the good professor hadn’t even bothered to check on Celestal’s potion progress or those of her immediate neighbors for that matter. Finally when everyone went up to give their samples, Celestal merely levitated hers up and whipped around to leave. A smooth but harsh voice made her freeze in her tracks.
“Celestal.” Snape said in a near shout. A nearly visibly shiver shook the slytherin’s shoulders, but she did not speak or turn. “Ms. Ohuri look at me when I am speaking to you.” He said in a dangerous hiss. The entire class froze to listen. Reluctantly she turned her profile to him her eyes averted. Someone in the crowd took in a small breath and snape snapped. “Everyone OUT!!” He yelled standing slamming his open palms on this desk. Everyone but celestal jumped out of their skin to comply. When the door slammed shut Snape put a silencing spell upon them.
“What do you require of me severus?” Celestal said coldly not tuning to meet him.
“I am you professor here, how dare you show me disrespect.” He growled coming close to her face.
“Because snivvy you’re a back stabbing worm.” She snapped harshly.
“: on what grounds do you propose this”
“Don’t you dare act innocent! You know damn well on what grounds!” She shouted losing her control.
“I know what happened all those years ago was wrong…”
“Then why did you do it!”
“Because I had too.”
“No you didn’t you coward!” Before celestal could stop herself her hand was sailing through the air and meeting snapes face with a resounding smack so hard it stung her hand and echoed 10 fold off each stone wall. “You were always the nicest to me. Then that night you put me through a hell that will last the rest of my life!” You were supposed to distract them for me!” Severus grabbed the girl’s wrist and squeezed.
“How dare you strike me?” Snape hissed his nose pressing against hers. “I made you what you are.” His fingers tightened as celestals eyes began to turn crimson.
“I guess you did… you really don’t know the half of it. I TRUSTED YOU!” Celestal screamed her wrists released by Severus. She stepped away. “I placed all my hope on you, as little as it may have been. Guess I didn’t have shit worth of judgment back then, luckily things have changed.” She turned and left the professor alone. Draco stood there in the hall against the corridor wall; he spotted finger marks around her wrist and a bright red palm.
“What happened?” Draco asked trying to seem cool and detached.
“Nothing Draco,” she said hiding her hand and clenching her eyes shut to hide them as she rushed away. At the slytherin entrance she spoke the password and rushed inside up to her dorm to try and fight for control. She sat and meditated putting her weapons under her mattress, and told herself she must keep control. Her body began to calm and she opened her eyes.-She shivered and coughed. By the looks outside the window she had been this way for hours and the night was already deep. She coughed again and again a spurt of warm blood, down her front all over the bed and her lap. Another and another, and she felt a spike of pain up her spine.
“Not here, not here.” Celestal vaulted from the bed and bolted clumsily out the door and down the stairs. Out of the common room she ran down a dark stone corridor. She coughed up blood more and more all the way through the darkness leaving a crimson trail. Pain shot through her like a thousand white hot agonizing needles. She fell and writhed biting back a scream as best she could, as she did so she spotted a door on her left. Quickly without thinking or checking for danger flung it open and dove inside locking the door behind her.
She nearly tore off her shirt and bra in an attempt to pull them off without ripping them. And tossed them on the other side of the empty room. Celestal doubled over on the floor in pain, her back in the air her hands grasping at eh floor. Her back arched as she chocked to stay silent in the pain. Her muscles tensed as it did her body convulsed, coughing up more blood all over the floor. The skin on her arms looking as if chains were forming under them to shackle her wrist, as they to writhed like serpents. She let out a scream as quiet as possible as something began to push through the skin of her shoulder blades and back. She screamed again this time without restraint high and shrill before being able to stop it, arms pulsing, claws forming to dig into the stone, then retracting back to human bringing bits of sharp stone up with them. Again a shrill scream enough to echo through the near halls tore itself from her.
Something burst from her back covered in blood as she let out another scream blended with a howl of pain. She let lose of control and prayed that the pain would end if she only screamed loud enough or struggled against it enough. The large objects from her back, razor sharp gigantic wings black as the night sky, each one twice her own body length. They stretched across the room as if trying to fly as she continued the long note of a shrill scream as they pulsed over her sweat covered body. Something in the dungeons jerked the figure drew closer and closer as the scream grew louder and more haunting. Passing through a light to reveal professor snape rushing as if his life depended on it.
A new process began; the wings began to deteriorate as if melted by acid and time. The scream fresh with agony and tears, stopped only for a moment as blood spilled from her mouth once more. Shape found the door and tried to open it, finding it to be locked against him.
“CELESTAL! LET ME IN!” Snape shouted slamming his fists against the heavy hard wood of the door. Aloud splatter of blood flooding over celestals hands before she screamed once again reaching her arms up to hug herself in pain. Celestal was left with only skeletal outlines of wings, her scream shrill and high enough to have rung throughout the entire school like the class bell, sure enough drawing all from their beds. A splattering explosion with embedded dull thunks echoed loudly bringing one more fresh scream before everything went deadly silent. Finally gathering his wits Severus blew apart the door with his wand.
Snapes eyes widened in horror. The entire room was coated in blood, feathers, and bone. In the center of the room lay celestal laying on her side huddled over and shirtless with her back to him. In her back two long deep gashes starting in her shoulder blades and moving down to meet at her spine about mid-back, gushing blood. Snape heard people rushing all over the school headed off for the great hall. Snape realized in horror the slytherins would have to pass this room to get there, her ran to celestal’s side. She had passed out her nails having punctured the stone and torn through her arms, blood covered her.
“Look more blood!” Snape hear someone shout. He wouldn’t allow them to see her this way. He took off his outer robe and covered her. Picking her up she hissed in pain, still unconscious as his arms hit her wounds.
Snape covered her completely just as Draco rounded the door way. Draco looked over the room and heard a sickly dripping. He looked and from under the cloak blood dripped to the floor. “Draco, gather the teachers and get them to the hospital wing immediately.” Draco nodded and in doing so spotted long black hair tipped in silver. Blasie and Theodore rounded the corner as Draco rushed off “Zambini, Nott gather up your fellow house mates and lead them to the great hall by another route.” The hesitated a moment to long. “NOW!” snape shouted. The complied rushing out the door, the professor quickly followed out into the hallways to the hospital wing.
Snapes breath came in pained gasps as he took the stairs three at a time. All t he way he curse the precarious location of the hospital wing. The body in his arms tensed coughing spreading a dark wetness over his robes. Deciding the weight was slowing him snape grasped his wand and began to levitate the body. What seemed like an eternity later he burst through the hospital wing doors.
“Madam Pomfry. I need a bed immediately!” Snape shouted his cool attitude near shattering. The woman bustled in looking ruffled.
“Now severus this is a hospital, I would ask you….not…to…” The nurse’s picking petered away as she spotted the floating object covered by a cloak obviously a body. “Severus, what is this.” She spotted the stain and the trail of blood that led all the way down the hall. She picked up the edges of the robe and pealed it back to reveal celestal, face contorted in pain and covered in blood. “Right this way. Hurry now.” Snape bit back his frustration at having wished to move faster before this point and now she was hurrying him like he was the slow one. She drew back the curtains around a far bed and motioned for Severus to lay her down. Gently he flipped her over with a turn of his wand the robe falling to the ground sticking only for a moment, and laid her on her stomach.
As the hair fell away to reveal the girls wounds the nurse gave a choked scream. “How did this happen?” The woman asked. Severus looked at her showing he didn’t know with a scowl of annoyance. The night gown clad nurse shuffled away to her office and returned quickly carrying an armful of salves and herbs. She grabbed a large round bottle filled with yellow goo and began rubbing it into the wounds on the slytherin’s back.
The wounds, instead of sparking and sewing together slowly par the usual reaction, actually began to redden and bleed even more. Looking confused she grabbed another jar full of crushed herbs and sprinkled them into the wounds, yet the reaction was just the same as it was before, and as it was for the 6 slaves, 3 herbs, and 2 rudimentary healing charms later when the other teaches arrived to a hail storm of screaming.
“You’re making it worse stop it already!” Snape scratched arms clenched at his sides indicating the now bright read skin around the wounds and the blood soaked bed and floor.
“I can see that Severus now stop your screeching.” The woman huffed in a near shout, the teachers hurried across the room.
“We heard a student was hurt.” McGonagall said pulling open the curtains. The teachers visibly recoiled from it, everyone except for Dumbledore who stepped foreword. “Oh my, Albus.” The joyous glint in Albus’ eyes vanished and they smoldered.
“Poppy do we know how to heal her.” The Headmaster asked looking over the girls wounds.
“Albus…I...I don’t…” she looked frizzled, frustrated and confused. “ Even basic spells wont work. I don’t understand.” She fretted her voice rising to a whining squawk. Dumbledore managed a soft smile toward her.
“Don’t worry poppy, it must be the work of a curse. Now dose anyone know who did this.” He said sternly turning to Severus. “You found her, any ideas who could have done this.”
“She was alone in a locked room when I found her. There may be an intruder in the school.” He said coolly. “There is an alternative way into the room.”
“Well then, Severus I suggest you get some of your strongest sedative up here. If she wakes she will be in a considerable amount of pain. I and the other staff will go down to warn the students. We will be staying in the great hall until this is sorted out.” Dumbledore and the others turned and left the wing, some looking sickly, others angry, others still a bit shaken. To worried to leave Snape picked his wand out of his pocked and summoned the strongest sedative he had. Mere moments later it was tapping insistently on the window; He strode over to the window and opening it to grab it and slip it in his pocket.
“Why don’t you go to sleep. I’ll stay here.” Snape said taking a seat with a rather professional plop. The nurse shrugged and went back to her room, muttering something about it being a good idea. Once she was gone through her office door, nearly all the way across the room, He conjured a bowl of warm water and a soft rag. Snape didn’t want to use a spell incase it worsened her condition. He pulled his chair close to the bed and dipped the cloth into the water. Slowly he ran the cloth along her side picking up blood as it went. Blood covered her back and arms slowly being swept away by Severus.
As Severus began to clean Celestal’s lower back he uncovered color, red, white, and green along with two spots of flesh color. He dipped the rag into the bowl again and wrung it out. The water turned red for an instant before being magically cleansed. He whipped away more and more beginning to reveal legs, the colors actually turning out to be smoky clouds. A woman quickly began to emerge clad in a long dark tattered robe slit far up her legs, tied with a tattered blood red sash all of a Japanese style. The gashes met in her chest and swallowed up her arms, which seemed to be raised and apart above her head. Recognition flared as the professor stared into those red eyes disturbed only by a sickly chocolate cherry strand of hair, leaving the sea of emotions there to be viewed and contemplated by existence. He touched to each of the six colors starting at the white that held its own at the woman’s feet and moved right. Next was green then a pale blue, then at the top he gently touched the black between the gashes. The next color was deep blue followed by a bright red cloud of smoke.
“Light, earth, air, darkness, water, fire.” Snape whispered contemplating placing his finger on the woman. “Spirit. She has the seven elements. And this woman here, she seems so familure, but I can’t quite place her.” The tattoo seemed to shift lightly and Celestal stirred. Severus continued to wipe away the blood, wounds oozing having to be cleaned occasionally.
Snape rose from his seat and the bowl moved to float obediently after him as he rounded the bed to clean her left arm. The wounds had long since stopped bleeding, having not been irritated by any healing attempts. His hair slipped into his face as he worked only to be brushed away when he had risen to go back to the right side of his student. As he was about to begin sweeping the blood away Celestal tensed, fingers grasping the sheets. Her face tightened and sweat began to blossom on her forehead. Her lips parting speaking quietly in a breathless voice.
“Hikichiru…” The slytherin’s voice was near tears. Snape whipped away the sweat and she calmed body again going lax. He went back to her arm, whipping up to the shoulder he found yet another tattoo. A large black pentacle that covered the round of her shoulder. Ancient writing circled it, without being able to resist he traced the star with his finger, his face close to her shoulder. After hitting each point it glowed faintly. Celesta’s eyes fluttered open coming eye to eye with Severus.
“You….YOU!!” Celestal screamed. Snape jumped back as celestal tried to struggle to her elbows only to collapse. “Where am I? And why are you here!” She glowered sitting up as far as she could dragging the sheet to cover herself. She fished around her pocket and pulled out her want feebly. “Well, speak!” Her wand trembled.
“Celestal, put your wand down.” Snape said sternly without fear, as if the thing being held at his face was a twig of no danger. When she didn’t comply he shot forward, and with lighting quick reflexes he yanked it away from her near limp grip. “I am going to give you something so you can sleep now.”
“NO your not. I won’t let you poison me.” Celestal hissed sitting up. Her entire body quaked with effort and rage.
“Swallow it, or do I have to make you.” Snape threatened raising the vial and uncorking it. “You’re not a child I don’t want to have to treat you like one.” Celestal glared at him with pure malice and hatred and shook her head defiantly and set her jaw.
“You couldn’t make me if you tried.” She growled turning to get off the bed when snape raise his wand at her. She froze and looked at him as if he might freeze from the glare she gave him. “Don’t you dare.” She spoke slowly as if to be sure he understood the threats that lie there.
“Patrificus Liberum.” Celestals body went numb as if everything below her neck had the bones removed and replaced with water balloons.
“EBONY!” the sixth year screeched. Snape forced the vile into her mouth and forced her to swallow. “BASTARD! BLACK Phoe….ni…” Her voice died away and she fell into her pillows swallowed by sleep before her hair settled back upon her. Severus rose her up with a levitating spell and changed the bedding then, once she was back on the bed, the blanket.
“Minuets later insistent clawing rang at the door. Snape ignored them and continued his regular cleaning.
