“Uck! Here come some Slytherins,” Seamus said. “Attack! I’ll will back you.”
“How?” Dean asked. “By turning your back and running?”
“Dude, trust me.”
“Fine, I trust you.”
“Let’s not get Filch on our backs here and let them start it,” Seamus said.
“I’ll glare as they walk by and we’ll see what they do,” Dean said.
“I’ll flip em off” Seamus said to Dean as he flipped off the Slytherins.
“Do you flip us off, Gryffindor?” Crabbe asked.
“I do flip off, Slytherin,” Seamus said.
“Do you flip us off, Gryffindor?” Crabbe asked again.
“Will we get points knocked off if I say yes?” Seamus muttered to Dean. Dean shook his head.
“No, Slytherin, I do not flip you off. But I do flip off.” Crabbe glared.
“Do you want to fight?” Dean asked.
“Fight, Gryffindor? No.”
“If you do, Slytherin, I’ll fight you. I can duel as well as you” Seamus said casually. Crabbe snorted.
“No better,” Crabbe said. Seamus rolled his eyes.
“Well then.”
“Say “better.” Nott is coming.” Dean said.
“Yeah, better,” Seamus said.
“You lie,” Crabbe said.
“Take out your wands if you say you’re better,” Seamus said, taking out his wand. “Dean, remember your curses.”
“Expelliarmus!” Seamus shouted.
“Stupefy!” Crabbe yelled. Dean dodged Crabbe’s spell and shot the jelly legs curse at Crabbe.
“Stop fighting you gits!” Theodore Nott shouted. “Put your wands away, you’re all morons.” Theodore said as Harry entered.
“What the hell is going on here amongst these idiots? Turn around, Nott, and face your death.”
“Whoa, Potter, calm down. I merely try to keep the peace in these halls. Put away your wand and help me break up this idiot fight.”
“Talk of peace, with you?” Harry sneered. “I hate the word as I hate the Dark Arts, all Malfoys, and you. Come and get me, biotch!”
“Everyone, go now! Down with the Malfoys, down with the Weasleys!” shouted a random Hufflepuff.
“What is this nonsense? Hand me my wand!” shouted Arthur Weasley.
“Why do you want you wand?” Mrs. Weasley asked.
“My wand, my wand! Old Malfoy is here and he flourishes his wand in spite of me!”
“Ahh, it’s the Weasleys, is it?” Lucius Malfoy drawled. “Let me get rid of them”
“Don’t stir up more trouble,” Narcissa Malfoy said. “We don’t need more enemies, dear.” Snape swept into the hall and stared everyone down.
“Rebellious students, enemies to peace and quiet! Always dueling each other over stupid reasons! You idiot Weasleys and Malfoys, stop your constant bickering! The next time a brawl breaks out again there shall be expulsions. Now leave!” Snape shouted. Everyone but Lord and Lady Malfoy and Theodore Nott left.
“Who started this fight? Speak, Nott, were you here when it started?”
“It was merely idiot lower years. Hot-headed Potter showed up and we started to duel, before Professor Snape showed up, that is.
“Do you know where Draco is, Theodore?” Narcissa asked.
“This morning I saw him wandering the grounds but once he saw me he slipped into the forest. He looked as if he wanted to be left alone, so I let him be.” Nott said.
“He always wanders the grounds in the early mornings,” Narcissa said, “And in the day he just locks himself in his room in the dark”
“Do you know why?” Theodore asked Lucius.
“I must confess I have no idea”
“Have you talked to him yourself?” Theodore asked.
“I, along with many others have asked him of his sad demeanor, but he tells no one. Could we learn of what was bothering him I would gladly help him.” Narcissa said, wringing her hands.
“Quick! Draco is coming. Leave now and I’ll try to find out what has been bothering him,” Theodore said.
“Thank you, Nott, I shall be curious to hear what he is bothered by. Come, Narcissa.” They swept out of the hall as Draco entered.
“Good morrow, cousin” Theodore said.
“What’s so good about it?” Draco asked moodily. “What time is it?”
“It just struck nine,” Theodore said.
“Oy, sad hours seem long. Was that my father that just left?”
“It was. What sadness lengthens young Malfoy’s hours?” Theodore asked casually.
“Not having what makes them seem short,” Draco said, his eyes narrowing at the ground.
“In love?” Theodore asked.
“out—“
“Of love?”
“Out of her favor where I am in love,” Draco sighed.
“Sucks, man. Some hot chick dangling in your view and you can’t have her.”
Draco sighed and ran his fingers through his hair.
“Yeah, it sucks.” Draco looked at the walls and saw scorch marks.
“What happened here? Oh don’t even bother, I have heard it all. There is so much hate, but then again so much love for dueling. I have so much love in my heart but there is no love here. Do you laugh at me?” asked Draco.
“Nah, my friend,” said Theodore, “I’d rather weep.” Draco stared at him.
“At what?”
“At your frustration with love” replied Theodore.
“It is but love’s way. I deal with my own frustration alone and your addition only makes my frustration grow. I am being driven mad by all that love does. But now I have to go, so later.”
“Dude, wait! Let me come with you”
“I am hardly even here anymore, this is not Draco Malfoy. He is somewhere else.”
“Seriously, Drake, just tell me who you love.”
“What, should I groan and tell you?”
“Groan? No, just tell me who.”
“In sadness, I do love a girl.”
“Ah, I was right then! You are straight!”
“Right you are. She’s hot too.”
“Ahh, love grows stronger with those who are hotter,” Theodore said, waggling his eyebrows.
“Ah, well in that you miss. She is not in love me, and she doesn’t give it out to anyone. She won’t let me seduce her. She’s a fox, my friend, but when she dies there will be no heirs as she won’t part her legs for anyone,” Draco said, sighing.
“She is going to stay a virgin?” Theodore asked.
“Yeah, and it’s a huge fucking waste. She’s too hot; it would be heaven to be with her. She makes me sad; for she shall love no one at all, not even me.”
“Dude, you just have to forget and stop thinking about her!” said Theodore. Draco snorted.
“Then teach me how I forget to think.”
“Just check out some others girls! Like that hot chick in Ravenclaw.”
“Checking out other hot girls won’t help me; I am too much in love with her. They are no match for my love, I cannot forget her face. Later, Theo, you cannot teach me to forget her.”
“I bet you twenty galleons I can,” said Theodore to Draco’s departing body.
