He closed his eyes, the sound of rain crashing against his bedroom windows. It was late, very late and yet his eyes nor mind could find rest.

Not without her. That was what his heart kept yelling at him.

He looked behind him, from his spot on the window sill, onto the unmade bed. It had been rustled and unmade since early that morning, before they had the fight, before he told her she was nothing but a mudblood, before he destroyed the one good thing in his life. When things between them were still wonderful and he could hold her in his arms without a care in the world.

But that was then, and in a matter of hours he had managed to lose one of the most important things to ever happen to him.

Hermione Granger.

*~*~**~*~*~*~*~*

She wiped away another tear, feeling the shallowness of her heart ache as she stared out the cold window. She watched the raindrops fall onto the cab window, their shadows looking like fresh new tears upon her tired face.

Her mind was on him, thinking of him. His haunting gray eyes, to his devilishly sexy smirk. He had an achingly beautiful physique. Right from his blonde stubborn head, down to his feet. She admitted, she was never extremely beautiful nor attractive, and she never knew quite was it was that had made him fall for her, but she wasn't about the complain.

She thought about the day they met. They had been enemies once, her cursing him the foul mouth evil little cockroach, and him labeling her the filthy little mudblood. It wasn't until 4 years after graduating from Hogwarts that they met again, and finally, after constant bickering and public battles of words, they fell in love.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

He had been completely taken aback when he first laid eyes on her in the small cafe, a few blocks away from his flat. It had been a chilly evening when he walked in on her sitting alone, sipping her hot cocoa silently with a book nestled between her chest and the table. She had looked at him shockingly for several seconds before allowing him to join her, but nonetheless they had become friends.

Truth, he annoyed her at times, same as she had annoyed him. They clashed at times because of their differences and their thoughts on several things, causing them to fight in several public places and then head home to make up, but somewhere along the way he had fallen in love with her.

He smiled softly, remembering her laugh and the way she smiled at him. She had a gorgeous smile. He remembered her old buck teeth in school, but the look of utter astonishment on everyone's face when she had gotten them fixed.

'Had I made a mistake?' he thought. 'Why did I let her walk out?'

The sound of his bedroom door opening caught his attention, causing him to turn his head in hopes that it was her. His Hermione, coming back home to him.

"Hermione?" he whispered hopefully.

Spinky, the house elf, poked his large, round head in. "Master?"

Draco sighed, looking back out the window. "What is it Spinky?"

The small elf made his way over to his master, hands behind his back, head hung low. "Is Master upset with Spinky, Sir?"

Draco looked away from the rain and down to Spinky, now standing directly beside him. "No. I'm just thinking."

"Hermione Mister? Where has she gone?" His squeaky, high pitched voice asked in wonderment.

Draco breathed in deeply, holding in his breath as he looked for an answer.

"Why can't I be enough for you?" Her words still stabbed him in the chest, she was wrong, she was more than enough for him. She was all he ever needed. But he blamed himself partially for that. Because he never showed it.

Taking another deep breath, he held back tears. "She's gone Spinky."

"Miss?"

Hermione snapped out of her thoughts, hearing the driver ask her what street to turn on.

"Oh turn here, it's the big house, yes the dark one." she instructed, getting her bags ready.

She knew he wasn't expecting her, but she though a surprise might be quite lovely.

As the car pulled up into the driveway, she paid the driver and got out.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Draco heard the sound of a car pulling up, he looked below the window and sure enough, a car had just stopped at the door.

The darkness of the light, and the rain had left him unable to reveal the identity of his visitor. Straining his eyes a bit he saw the outline of luggage, and when he saw the hand that gripped it, he saw it was a woman.

Hermione.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Hermione thanked the man, slamming the car door and gripping her bag tightly. She looked up at the mansion, only one light shown brightly through a window on the second floor, she smiled.

She had missed him a bit, wondering if he had too.

Gathering all her courage she rung the doorbell. Several seconds later, the door was opened.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

He ran down the stairs, the doorbell rung and he ran faster than before, skipping steps down the stairs until he finally reached the bottom. His heart was pounding in his chest, happy as he could stand. He ran quickly to the door, afraid his happy smile would show just how much he had missed her but he was ok with that, he wanted her to know how miserable he was without her.

Without a second thought he swung the door open.

His smile faded, "Pansy?"

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Before her he stood, her best friend of several years. Jet black hair and familiar green eyes, a large smile upon his face.

"Hermione?"

"Hey Harry."
