“Something about the look in your eyes.
Something I noticed when the light was just right.”

Those eyes had haunted him for the entire term. It was coming up on Christmas break and he still couldn’t get her out of his head. They had worked side by side as Head Boy and Girl. When the Dark Lord had been defeated he had partied right along side her with Harry and Ron. Hogwarts four houses got along better now then they had in centuries, for Merlin’s sake a large part of that was do to him.

“It reminded me twice that I was alive.
And it reminded me that your so worth the fight.”

When Snape had brought up the topic of being a spy the summer before sixth year Draco had dismissed the idea. Not because he believed as the Dark Lord, just because he wasn’t much of a joiner. She was his reason; she had been kind to him that summer in Diagon Ally after his father had been imprisoned. She had told him right there in the middle of the street that he was becoming his own man and didn’t have to follow in anyone’s foot steps.

“Draco Malfoy, if you continue on this path you truly will never be the man I thought you would be.”

“Hermione Granger, just how often do you think about me?”

“More then I should and less then you think. Think about what your doing, what plans do you want for your future? Not his, yours, they are your choices to make.” With that she had turned and left, turning his life completely upside down.

“My biggest fear will be the rescue of me.
Strange how it turns out that way, yeah.

He had been comfortable in his life. It had been taken care of. Maybe that was why it never sat well with him, he had never had a say. Strange that his enemy was the one to bring it up and point it out.

Could you show me dear, something I’m not seeing?
Something infinitely interesting.”

“Something about the way you move.
I see your mouth in slow motion when you sign.
Your movements echo that I have seen the real thing.”

At the Christmas ball he watched her from one of the many tables. They had come to the dance on each others arms that night. More to show inter-house unity then anything else, much to Draco’s dismay, all that was going to change tonight he had big plans. She was dancing with Harry, who was still desperately hung up on Cho Chang. Ron was dancing with Luna and Ginny seemed to be wrapped around Blaise. The rest of the room faded away, he couldn’t help but be enraptured by her. She was signing along with the rest of the crowed and Draco remembered the first time he had ever heard her sign. It had been the first week they had shared the common room.

He had been studying in his room and came out to get a book; she had been sitting on the floor at the coffee table signing along to some muggle song he had never heard. She had a dreamy look on her face while she wrote an essay that wasn’t due for another two weeks. He watched her for a minute, captivated by this private ritual. When she looked up and caught him staring she blushed to her ears.

“Don’t stop on my account Hermione, I was enjoying the show.”

“I have no doubt you were Draco, and I’m sure you were hoping for a show of another kind.”

“I hope for all manner of things where you’re involved my sweet.” They had found a comfortable rhythm over the summer after sixth year. They had lapsed into flirting cryptically with each other, in very broad terms.

“As do I Draco, as do I.”

Draco came over to her and leaned down, his lips level with her ear. “You know there are any number of bedroom options in this suite. You only have to say the word and I’ll show you anything you want to see.”

“As tempting as that offer sounds Draco, your well above my level of education.” Hermione gathered her things and continued to write her essay in her own room. Draco sat on his ass right where he stood. Digesting the information he just got, if he understood her correctly he would be her first. He was determined to be her first, and most likely her last.

Drco had spent months planning how to win her. The task was easier considering she didn’t hate him to begin with at least not anymore. They went about their relationship as Heads together as always and he continued to flirt with her. He planned with the help of their friends the night he would make her his. He would never forget that conversation with Harry.

“You want me to help you deflower my best friend? I know were buds now after all we have been through the past to years but this is way, way beyond our friendship.”

“It’s not like that, it not some torrid affair or just meaningless shag! Harry you don’t get it she changed my life, I think I have been falling in love with her since she ripped me apart in Diagon Alley. I’m not asking you to drug her; I’m asking you to help me set the scene. After that the rest is up to me.”

“I’ll see what I can find out.”

A night out dancing followed by a private dinner and snuggling seemed to be Hermione’s idea of a perfect date. Well, he ha d the dancing set up, and Dobby was waiting to set dinner until they left the Great Hall together. He got up and walked to Cho asking her to dance. They moved around the dance floor effortlessly, all the while Draco was keeping an eye on Hermione. “Cho what do you think of Harry?”

“Harry? I think he is a sweetheart who had the unfortunate fate to be known by the world because of a mad man. Why?”

“Because he is smitten with you and I think he should cut in.”

“He is… Oh! I never realized.”

“Most women never do.”

“The rest of the school knows who you are smitten with Draco, everyone but her, why don’t you tell her?”

“I’m working on romancing her this very evening, that’s why your going to switch with her and dance with Harry.”

“Anything for love.” Cho giggled as he spun her around towards the couple in question.

“Harry will you take this lovely girl off my hands?” Draco didn’t wait for a reply, he just seamlessly switched partners. The song changed to a mildly slow song. Hermione rested her head on Draco chest, her warm cheeks cooled by the silk of his shirt.

“We did really well Draco, everyone is having a great time.”

He couldn’t stand it any longer; he pulled back from her slightly. “I have one more surprise for you, a thank you for putting up with me while we planned this whole thing. Come on it’s in the common room.” He took her hand and led her out the oak doors to their rooms.

“Your biggest fear will be the rescue of you
Strange how it turns out that way.”

The room was dimly lit by candlelight. Hermione looked around and saw hundreds of orchids covering every available surface. She turned to Draco, “What is all this?”

“This love is romance, and my way of showing you gratitude for more then I think you may ever know.”

Hermione’s heart sank slightly, for a moment she thought Draco might have been trying to romance her for other reasons. They sat at the table and had dinner in comfortable conversation, when the meal was done the plates and table vanished. Draco stood and took Hermione’s hand leading her to dance in the middle of the floor. Soft music played for the walls and she once again leaned her head on his chest, “you really didn’t have to do all this Draco. It was all very sweet but not necessary.”

“Oh, but it was how else could I show you how much you mean to me?”

“Draco I don’t understand what you’re talking about.”

“I think I fell in love with you while your cheeks were flushed and you were shouting about the man I could be.” He whispered.

Hermione’s heart turned awkward flips in her chest. “Wh…?”

“Let me show you how much you mean to me Hermione. You made me the man I am today.” Draco lead her to his room where dozens more orchids were sitting.

Hermione turned to him before speaking, “Draco I’ve never done this. It’s not that I don’t want to, in fact I don’t think I could picture being here with anyone else, I just don’t want you to be disappointed with my lack of experience.” Hermione pushed the last few words out so fast Draco almost didn’t catch it. He walked toward her and sat her gentle on his satin covered bed.

“There is nothing about you that could ever disappoint me. Let me love you the way I’ve dreamt of for months.” He laid her down on the bed and captured her month with his. She stiffened a bit at first, and then slowly let herself be taken over by the gentleness he was showing her. His hand slid down her body, enjoying the feeling of silk on his woman, she was his, now and always. His hands stopped on her hips as he placed more of his body weight onto her, he knew the exact moment she felt his erection against her, her eyes sprung open. “Don’t be scared baby, you do that to me. Every time I see you, hear you or even think about you.” He moved his hand to cup her through her dress. She moaned at the contact and pressure of his hand. “If you want to stop at all, just say the word, tonight is all for you.”

Hermione didn’t hear much after that; she was lost in a world of her own. Her hands roamed his back as his traveled under the skirt of her dress. She moaned into his mouth as his hands made contact with her bare skin. She started to unbutton his shirt, hoping that this was what she was supposed to be doing.

His fingers brushed the edge of her panties, silk as well. When his fingers brushed across her clit she almost hit the ceiling. “Baby just wait till you see what I can really do to your body.” Draco pulled her body up against his chest and undid the zipper to her dress. Hermione taking her cue from him undid his pants letting them fall to the floor with her dress. They continued to undress each other and laid on his bed, his body covering hers. He bent his head taking her nipple in his mouth, she was truly in ecstasy. His hands traveled back down her body, he found her wet and ready for him.

He knew it would hurt and that was unavoidable. He would make it as painless as possible, slipping a finger gently inside her, stretching her slightly in preparation for future intrusion. She arched back as his fingers entered her and felt him hard against her leg. There was no way on this earth that that was fitting inside her. Her worries were short lived when his thumb rubbed her clit, he inserted another finger and she fell into heaven. His pace grew as her body relaxed and he could feel her orgasm approaching.

He brought his erection closer to her center and when he brought her to the brink of pleasure he looked into her eyes pleading for her to let him continue. The slight nod of her head was all it took for him to push her over. As her body convulsed around him he slipped into her warm body, breaking her innocence. She barely felt the pain; in fact she didn’t feel anything other then the weightlessness he had given her.

Draco sat unmoving waiting for her to grow accustomed to his size. She turned her head opening her eyes, staring back at her was the only person she had ever envisioned this moment with. Bringing her head up, she kissed him with a passion he had only seen when they were fighting. She rotated her hips and he slipped deeper inside her, “Baby you have to wait a minute, it will hurt more if you don’t.”

“It feels wonderful Draco, show me more.” She pulled his head down to hers and kissed him senseless. He slowly withdrew from inside her, easing gently back in. each stroke was agony for him, he needed to be inside her, to make her his to show her how much she meant to him. “More Draco more.” He needed no more encouragement and quickened his pace. Shortly after the change of pace he could hear her breath start to hitch and her walls start to spasm in impending orgasm.

“Come with me baby?” the angelic voiced pushed him even closer to the edge he was holding himself back from. When she contracted around him he heard the words he’d been dying to her from her lips, “I love you Draco.” He followed her over the edge spilling himself into her.

He withdrew from her and pulled her on top of him. “I’ve waited months to hear you say that.” She looked up at him.

“Why didn’t you ever tell me?”

“I didn’t think you would feel the same way, so I figured if I could show you maybe you wouldn’t think it would be so bad.”

“Didn’t you ever wonder why I was so against you following the path set out for you? I’ve been in love with you since I saw you at the Yule Ball during the fourth year.”

“Well, we know now and that’s what matters.”

“Draco, will it always be that amazing?”

“Oh, baby I can make it even better. You just need to get accustomed to me and the intrusion at first. You’ll be sorry and curing me tomorrow when you can shut your legs.”

“I think it may take me a few years to get fully accustomed to you and your size if you know where I’m going.” Hermione wiggled her eyebrows in true Malfoy fashion.

“I love where you’re going, where we are going. Now that I’ve got you I don’t ever plan on letting you go.”

“Good, that makes two of us. Draco, how do you think everyone liked the dance?”

“I liked it just fine, I couldn’t give a flying niffler what everyone else thought of it.” Hermione’s giggle was the last thing he heard before drifting of to sleep with the woman of his dreams there in his arms.

“My biggest fear will be the rescue of me.
Strange how it turns out that way, yeah.
Could you show me dear, something I’m not seeing?
Something infinitely interesting.”
