The Return

I don’t own a thing. I wouldn’t be working if I did.

Severus Snape was sitting in the teacher’s lounge waiting for everyone to show up for the meeting, he was the first one there like always. School was starting up in a week and the professors were all returning to the school to get things ready for the students. He was still the Potions Master at Hogwarts and had just returned last night with his husband.

A lot had happened in the last five years. One of the more shocking things was his marriage to the Boy Who Lived. That didn’t come as such a shock as people thought it would. He and Harry had become friends of some sort when Sirius Black fell beyond the veil in fifth year. Harry had been distraught and his friends were to caught up in their new relationship to notice. Remus was doing all he could, but couldn’t do much when he was at headquarters or on missions and Harry was at Hogwarts.

One night, during Harry’s sixth year, Severus had been doing his rounds when he heard what sounded like someone crying in the astronomy tower. Deciding to be a nice guy for once he went to check it out. When he saw it was Harry he decided to forgo being a bastard just this once and comforted him. The two had come to respect each other and formed a friend ship after that. Which for Severus turned into another type of feeling all together, one he thought Harry would never return.

Then at the welcoming feast during Harry’s seventh year Dumbledore had asked him to come to his office after the feast was over. When he got to the office he was shocked to se Harry was already there. The two still acted as though they hated each other so as not to blow Severus’s cover as a spy, but Dumbledore knew about it and couldn’t have been happier for the two boys he saw more like his own sons.

Albus told them that he had found a way that might just increase Harry’s power enough to win the war. He explained that if Harry were to have a soul mate, though most witches and wizards don’t, and if he were to bond with him or her then his power as well as his soul mates would increase. The two would also have some added benefits depending on the strength of the bond. Some of these included sensing when the other was in danger and their emotions, and in the case of a really strong bond they would be able to communicate telepathically. Albus then asked Severus to brew a potion, which would be able to tell them who Harry’s soul mate was, if he had one.

Severus not wanting to deny Albus got right to work on the potion, though it broke his heart that he wouldn’t have a chance to try to pursue a relationship with Harry. A week later Harry took the potion and the answer socked all three involved. Severus was Harry’s soul mate. The two were bonded immediately and the only witnesses beside Albus, who preformed the ceremony, were Minerva and Remus, who Severus decided to try to get along with for Harry’s sake.

However things at the start of the marriage were not great. Severus thought Harry didn’t love him and Harry was upset that Severus didn’t love him. The two did what they do best and hid all emotions from the other. It didn’t help that they had to hide the relationship from the rest of the world too. Eventually fate stepped in, in the form of Remus, Minerva, and Albus, who decided it would be best to lock the two into a room until they learned to talk to each other. They told each other everything, like how abusive the Dursleys were and about how Severus’s family disowned him when he took the dark mark and why he took the mark. Well after that things were great, and at the end of the year they got even better when Voldemort was defeated by him and Harry.

The hard part came when the world found they had been married for a year, and even worse when Harry’s friends found out. Ron and Hermione refused to talk to him (Harry) until he came to his senses and realized he was straight. Well needless to say they didn’t speak anymore.

But things didn’t stay bad for long. Harry made friends with Severus’s own godson, Draco Malfoy, which was more of a shock than the marriage. They had attended Draco’s wedding this summer to his best friend Blaise Zambini.

The real shocker was when Severus found a way to bring Harry’s godfather back from the veil. Sirius was able to spend Harry’s 18th birthday with them. Sirius and Severus had also decided to try to be friends after that, and eventually did form a friendship after Sirius saw how happy Harry was with Severus. Sirius and Remus were the August following Harry’s 18th Birthday and Sirius became the DADA teacher who broke the curse as he was starting his third year teaching the class, with the help of Remus, while Harry became a mediwizard.

Severus was shocked out of his thoughts when someone sat down next to him.

“Hey, Sev, Long time no see.” Sirius said jokingly. They had just seen eachother yesterday

“Where is Harry?” Asked Remus

“He is helping set up the Hospital wing. He and Poppy decided to skip the meeting as it us just mandatory for teachers.”

Just then the rest of the teachers and Albus walked in and sat down and Albus started the meeting. “Now as you all know Minerva and Flitwik have decided to retire and I have found some replacements from Australia. Now I have not been able to speak with them other than by letter, but they should be here soon. Their names are Justin and Lindsey Porter.”

Just then the door opened and in walked the last two people any one ever thought they would see.
