Ordinary
Prologue: Hermione
Hermione Granger was convinced that she had turned out to be the one thing that she hated above all things. Ordinary. Oh, she knew she was smart, but smartness was something that most anyone could achieve if they were willing to work at it. She wanted to be extraordinary. She wanted to achieve a state of greatness that wasn’t ordinary. Not that she disliked ordinary people, Hermione just didn’t want to be one.
To say that she was striving for ultimate power would be incorrect. Hermione didn’t want to rule the world, she didn’t even want to rule Hogwarts. All in all, she guessed, she just wanted to be remembered.
Draco
Draco Malfoy was convinced that he had it all. Greatness, power, minions, money, looks….and the list went on. So it came as a big surprise when he realized that though he had it all, he still wasn’t happy. Being a methodical man, Draco started studying his life, piece by piece. After a while he came to an astounding conclusion. He was ordinary. Not in the sense that he was just like everyone else, but that really hadn’t done anything that made him stand out. Every day he did the same thing over and over. What, he thought, was the point really? Not to say that all in all it was a bad life, but ten years down the road, would anybody even remember he had been here?
He guessed that he would have to make them.
