The Love Triangle
Disclaimer: If I owned Harry Potter (Which I don’t.) do you think I’d be writing fanfiction? I only own my original characters!
Italic are the characters’ thoughts
The sun was just beginning to set behind the Forbidden Forest at Hogwarts: School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It was Friday evening and classes had just ended for the day. Many of the students headed up to their common rooms to put their books away; while others headed for the Great Hall for dinner. All except for one boy, Harry Potter. Instead of being inside with his fellow classmates, enjoying the delicious feast; he was sitting outside by the lake, watching the fall breeze make ripples in the water.
(Harry’s POV)
I sighed as I sunk into a sitting position in front of the lake. I’m so glad classes are over. I thought smiling. I’m not sure how much more of Binns’s lecture I could take.
“Hey, Har.” said a voice.
Startled, I looked up to see Ron; his red hair blowing in the breeze. Instead of his uniform, he was in regular clothes. He wore loose fitting jeans, and a red hoody, that read in black letters: Gryffindor, Quidditch League Champions of 2004.
“Hey Ron, what’s up?” I smiled. He shrugged, indifferently.
“Not much.” he replied, “Could I talk to you later, at the Quidditch Pitch?”
I blinked in surprise. “I guess so,” I said.
“Around ten o’clock then?” Ron asked hopefully.
“Okay,” I said uncertainly. His face broke into a grin.
“Thanks Harry!”
“But why do you. . .” I began, but Ron had already set off toward the castle. What’s the matter with him today? I thought frowning, as Ron disappeared behind the large double oak doors. Ron’s been acting really strange today; he kept sending me these funny looks all through Divination. Did I do something wrong?
I suddenly felt a pair of hands cover my eyes, blocking my view of the lake.
“Guess who!” came a cheerful voice.
I rolled my eyes. “I know it’s you Scott,” I said, annoyed. Scott removed his hands and stuck his tongue out.
“You’re no fun,” he pouted. I shook my head in disbelief. Scott could be so stupid sometimes. His face broke into a huge grin. “Besides,” he said, putting his arm around my shoulders. “It’s Friday, and we don’t have to worry about classes for two whole days. Plus, we get to go to Hogsmeade this weekend. Which reminds me,” he said, his face suddenly turning serious.
“Could you meet me at the Three Broomsticks, tomorrow at three o’clock?”
I shifted uncomfortably under his gaze. “I don’t know Scott. . .” I began. I really don’t want to . . .
“Come on, Harry! Please? I promise no funny stuff!”
“No funny stuff?” I repeated uncertainly. But then again, I don’t want to hurt his feelings.
Scott nodded vigorously. “No funny stuff, I swear.”
I bit my lip. “Alright,” I said finally. I know I’m going to regret this. Scott seemed lost for words until he found his voice a second later.
“Seriously?” he choked. I sighed and nodded in defeat. Scott’s eyes and mood lightened considerably.
“Thank you, Harry!” He said happily and with a great flourish, kissed me on the lips. I blushed and immediately pushed him away.
“Cut it out!” I snapped. Scott drew back with a playful grin and laughed.
“You’re so cute when you get angry.” Scott sighed fondly. I glared at him. He laughed again and walked away.
“Later Harry,” he called, with a wave of his hand.
I frowned as I watched Scott head up to the castle. What’s the matter with everyone today?
A sudden gust of wind blew across the grounds. The sky had darkened and the stars had begun to come out. I shivered as I pulled my robes closer to me. I had forgotten to bring my cloak with me, so now I was freezing. I slowly rose from the ground and began walking back towards the castle.
Here are a couple things you should know about this AU:
1st - Rac is short for Broom Racing. In this sport teams have about twenty players each. Captains are generally one of the older students, usually 7th years. The teams race five times around a track. The team with the most players in the Top 10 racers wins the match for their team.
2nd - The Misfits are what Harry, and his circle of friends call themselves. The Misfits consist of Harry, Ron, Steve, and Alex. Following in the footsteps of the Marauders, these pranksters love to pull pranks on their teachers and fellow classmates.
Please R&R! I’ll try to have chapter two up soon!
