Possessive
Chapter 1
Disclaimer- I don’t own any of the characters, just the plot!
Hermione Granger was a simple girl. She liked all the simple things life had to offer. She didn’t indulge herself in the usual things that girls her age did. She didn’t drool over the opposite sex and didn’t obsess over her appearance. She didn’t own Jimmy Choos shoes or a Prada bag. And she certainly didn’t go out on dates.
The problem was that Hermione was more than capable of being able to do all the things mentioned above; she had the looks to make all the men crave after her- sure she wasn’t tall but she had wild masses of wavy light brown hair, intense chocolate coloured eyes, an hour glass figure that made all the girls jealous and a face that was so strikingly beautiful that would by far out best all of the models in Play Wizard. She was also more than able to afford a dozen Prada bags and Jimmy Choos due to being successful in her career choice and she DEFINTELY wasn’t a lesbian.
So what exactly was the problem? Why couldn’t Simple-beautiful-successful-and very straight Hermione granger ever find a date? Why couldn’t she have at least one single female friend to discuss silly girlie things like boys and fashion and all that nonsense?
Answer to that problem is that simple-beautiful-successful-and very straight Hermione granger was friends with the-boy-who-lived Harry potter, the-man-who-killed-lucius-malfoy-in-the-final-battle Ron Weasley, and the boys-who-swapped-sides-and-fought-against-voldermort Blaise Zabini and Draco Malfoy (although Draco Malfoy wasn’t exactly deemed as a ‘friend’ rather than an ‘acquaintance’). Being friends with them meant that no guy ever approached her because he was too intimidated from the boys beating him to a pulp if he messed with her, and no girl wanted to befriend her because she was too jealous to accept that Hermione had something that made all these guys like her enough to be close to them.
22 year old Hermione granger was a junior auror working at the ministry of magic and had been there for the past year. Once Hogwarts was over, Ron and Harry had both chosen to instantly become aurors. Hermione however, decided to postpone becoming an auror until she had graduated from Wizarding University because as Ron so kindly put it she “is a freak who loves to learn”. Unfortunately for the “golden trio”, their close knitted group was broken as Hermione’s university was all the way in Scotland. So, Hermione bid her 2 closest friend bye and went to live on campus at her university.
Ron and Harry however kept in touch with her and told her how much fun they were having in auror training. She was happy for them and not for an instance did she decide to join them as she was having too much fun studying the real essence of magic. University life was nothing like Hogwarts. Everyone in university was dedicated to their studies. There were never any parties or social gatherings. Everyone did what they had to do, and contrary to popular belief, hardly anyone went on dates at uni, Hermione definitely included.
Once she had graduated 3 years later, Hermione went to spend the summer holidays with Harry and Ron at their new apartment that they kept mentioning. One word to describe the apartment was “breathtaking”. In all their letters they had mentioned how they were living with Blaise Zabini and Draco Malfoy who were also aurors, and that the apartment had 5 bedrooms, so one was saved for her if she ever wanted to move in with them.
At first, she was reluctant to accept, because although she was definitely friends with blaise and had been ever since their 5th year when he declared which side he was fighting against in the war. However her and Draco Malfoy’s relationship was extremely volatile. Though they weren’t considered enemies anymore due to fighting on the same side in the war during 5th year and having to work together during 7th year when they were named head girl and boy, her and Draco never seemed able to stop bickering and arguing with each other. However, once Harry, Ron and Blaise pleaded with her to stay, she accepted.
She was beginning to sense that that was the worst decision she had ever made.
