Prologue

Hey everyone, this is my newest fic. This is a SLASH male/male fic so if you don’t like this sort of thing go find another story to read. This is a Harry/Lucius fic and will contain extreme violence and rape from the beginning. This is also and NC-17 fic or MA depending on which you used. I hope you enjoy it.

Big thank you’s to my beta’s Bluetribalrose, Brittine (Flamin Vixen), Katie (quixotic_hope), Serpent Of Light.

Disclaimer: I don’t own any of the Harry Potter characters and am not making any money from this fic.

Prologue

“Nature\'s first green is gold,

Her hardest hue to hold.

Her early leaf\'s a flower;

But only so an hour.

Then leaf subsides to leaf.

So Eden sank to grief,

So dawn goes down to day.

Nothing gold can stay.”

Robert Frost.

It was quiet, the night air cool with a gentle breeze that stirred the branches of the trees. A single leaf, golden in color, the last from the old oak, clung to its branch. Autumn had come. The leaf was not wanted and even the slightest breeze had it shaking, threatening it, daring it to fall. Until now, it had resisted. Until now, it had clung tightly, the other leaves protecting it from the harsh winds. But now they had all since fallen, and there was just this last flicker of gold left, nothing to stop it or even witness its demise.

The breeze stirred the ancient branches, which shook the last tendril between leaf and branch, which snapped and fell. The last of the leaves had fallen. The gold shimmered in the brief moonlight as it descended to the forest floor, joining the others that lay as a carpet, a massacre of nature. Autumn had come, and winter was just around the corner.

It was quiet save for the ragged breaths of one seventeen-year-old Harry Potter. He stumbled through the darkness, his worn shoes crunching through the mass of leaves beneath his feet. Branches came out from the darkness, and Harry thrashed them out his way. Wood snapped, leaves fell, and the living died.

Harry stumbled into a small clearing no more than two meters wide either way, and he paused, doubling over to catch his breath. A twig snapped to his left, and Harry whipped around, wand drawn. Emerald eyes narrowed as the forest fell still. A few tense seconds passed, and Harry pushed his wand back up his jumper sleeve and leaned back against a nearby tree at the edge of the clearing. Magic would only alert someone to his presence, and that was the last thing he needed. Harry tipped his head back, feeling his raven hair shift against the bark and stared up at the sky as the moon was hidden behind black clouds, plunging the forest into darkness once again. Harry closed his eyes as the night surrounded him; his tongue darted out to lick his sweat soaked lips, leaving a bitter salty taste in his mouth.

Using the back of his sleeve Harry wiped his forehead, relieving it of the moisture. Gritting his teeth, he pushed away from the tree and continued his journey into the night, one thought echoing in his mind…\'revenge.’
